Ms*** had been a longtime customer of Graham WasteHer every other week scheduled pick up date was ThursdayWe discontinued every other week service for new customers in 2013, but continued it as a courtesy to existing customers such as Ms***In February 2014, due to historic
snowfall, certain streets in the Town of *** were closed by the Town of *** police for daysDuring this period, we were unable to access Ms***'s address as the municipal snow removal services were unable to keep up with the snowfallWhen she (in addition to others in the area) called about the missed pick up on February 12, Graham Waste explained that we would be back in the area on Monday, and would service her account, if we were granted access by the Town of *** policeOn the subsequent Monday (2/16) and Thursday (2/19), we were still not able to access her address as roads had not been clearedThe circumstances related to the historic snowfall was well known to all, and it is unclear to Graham Waste as to what additional reason could possibly have been offered to explain the situationOther customers accumulated trash and recycling until roads were cleared, and Graham Waste picked up the accumulated trash at that timeIt is worth noting that Graham Waste serviced all of its accounts in *** and surrounding towns where snow plows had cleared accessCompeting trash removal companies did not service the area for weeks, resulting in a significant number of new accounts for Graham WasteAs to Ms***'s cancellation and request for a refund, there were scheduled pick-ups in the quarter for which she had paid for services, at a cost per pick up of $Three of those dates were serviced in January (1/2, 1/15, 1/29)She was offered a refund of $19.20, based on the pick ups not done over the balance of the quarter totaling $25.70, less a processing fee of $This amount was evidently not acceptable to Ms***Our customer service system shows no record of "many calls to Graham" by the customer, and shows this matter as unresolvedI am today sending a check to Ms*** for $and will considered this matter resolved

Company is in receipt of Customer’s Statement of the Problem in regard to the above referenced complaint.    Company agrees that Customer called on October 21 with credit card information for payment.  However, Company has no record of a request for a removal of the...

dumpster on October 22.  All order requests are computerized and time stamped, and Company records show a request on October 21 for a removal on October 29 (when the container was removed).  There is no record of any service requests after October 21.  If, as Customer alleges, Customer called a week later requesting a removal of the container, the removal request would be time stamped showing the date of that request.   In any event, none of the chronology presented in the complaint has been previously explained to Company.  Had it been explained by Customer, a reasonable compromise would have been proposed.  While not agreeing with the Customer’s statements, Company is willing to waive the rental fees for the additional days ($21.42).  The remaining fees relate to an overage charge of .97 tons ($101.85).  Customer alleges that such overage would not have been incurred had the container been removed prior to two rainstorms.  There is no basis whatsoever for the conclusion that nearly a ton of weight is attributable to rain water (the containers are not water tight, and water drains from them).  In any event, Company will further waive an additional $26.85, leaving a balance payable of $75.   Last, customer claims to have rented over a hundred dumpsters from our company.  Company records show just five dumpsters rented since October 2013.   Graham Waste Services, Inc.[redacted]
