It is with great pleasure that I write this review for Prestige Solar Inc They are the kind of company that will battle with the intricacies of a city's Department of Building - Permits, to get approval for (our God given Sunshine ) Solar PowerEven though it took nearly a year they did not give up Micah the GM along with Rafael the owner and their team(although sometimes changing) was as patient with me as the consumer and explained everythingWe even lost the financing and I had to liquidate some investments to pay it off but believe me it was worth every penny and I would definitely recommend everyone, anyone serious about going Solar needs to contact Prestige Solar Inc
Sincerely appreciative

Short Review: DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Prestige Windows and Doors (also goes by Presitge Solar Products) is the epitome of a company you DO NOT want to hire. The owners and supervisors lied to us constantly, their installation quality is poor, they take on projects they don’t know how to complete or don’t have the capacity to finish in a timely manner, and they don’t communicate with the client at all or amongst themselves. The only thing this company does well is hound the client for payment. [redacted]

Detailed Review: My wife and I wanted to replace all of the windows and doors in our home to hurricane impact glass and were led to Prestige Windows and Doors by a friend’s recommendation; that’s about the last positive thing I’ve heard about or experienced from this company. When we signed the contract with Prestige, we were told the entire project would take between six and eight weeks…it ended up being a five month ordeal. The troubles began immediately, when it took Prestige over seven weeks just to get our windows to the warehouse. Not only was the delay a bad sign, but also the lack of communication from Prestige. I found myself having to hound them down just to get updates as to when the installation would begin.

Once Prestige finally received the windows, a supervisor told me there were no installers available, so I would have to wait. When Prestige finally got around to finding “available” installers, it seemed as though they were only working on a part-time basis. 90% of the time the installers would arrive late, leave hours early, and sometimes just not show up at all. Again, I would have to hound the supervisors, emailing, calling and texting them every evening to determine whether we had to remain at home in the morning to let the installers in. The supervisors would tell us that installers would be arriving between 8-9am, but they wouldn’t arrive until noon or 1pm; My wife and I were late to work several days during this whole ordeal, waiting for installers to show up…2, 3, 4 hours late. To top it off, after arriving late, the installers informed us they had to leave early, a couple of hours later during the middle of the installations, because their supervisor was sending them to another job (at one point it was a Dolphins player’s house…quite transparently, a priority over ours). I would contact the supervisors to ask why the installers were being taken off our project, and they would either not respond or just dismiss it and say “the installers will be there first thing tomorrow morning and will stay all day”; of course, that was never the case. Windows were left without exterior caulking/sealant for several days while it rained, allowing ants and water to seep into the house. Materials, tools and trash were often left strewn all over the interior and exterior of our house.

Prestige supervisors and owners lied to us constantly. One fine example of this is when my wife and I were leaving the country for two weeks and came to the agreement with [redacted] the supervisor and installer that the sliding glass door would be installed while we were gone. To that extent, I gave my neighbors the key to my house and provided them with all of the necessary information. I also provided Prestige with all of my neighbors’ information. The day before we left, the [redacted] called me to confirm everything and it was agreed that the door would be installed while we were gone. We returned two weeks later not only to find that the door had not been installed, but that my neighbors never received a call from anyone at Prestige. In fact, because no contact had been made the day installation was set to begin, my neighbors went out of their way to call [redacted] only to be told that my wife and I had agreed to delay the installation until we returned; something that was completely untrue. Essentially, [redacted] scheduled an installation that he had no intention of following through with, decided to not call my neighbors to let them know, and then proceed to lie to them explaining that my wife and I wanted to postpone until we were back in town. I emailed the owners [redacted] and [redacted] and other supervisors regarding this flat out lie; I never received an explanation. Business as usual.

The lack of communication between the owners, supervisors and installers is unbelievable. On one occasion, when installing the front door, the installers added a two-inch concrete step on the bottom of the doorway in order to make the door fit, except the agreement with the supervisor was that a matching bronze piece would be added at the top of the frame. The supervisor never communicated this major detail to the installers. I emailed owner [redacted] about this and received a “Please let me get back to you in the morning” response…of course, I never heard back from [redacted]. Finally, the installers came back out, uninstalled the front door on which they had just worked a full day, chipped away at the two-inch concrete step they had just added, and reinstalled the door. One step forward, two steps back.

The installation quality is extremely poor. Our house was a revolving door of Prestige rookies and recent hires. People were getting fired and hired throughout our project. We had to have the installers come out three times to redo the caulking on the windows because there were holes (allowing water and ants in) and globs of caulk on almost every window. The exterior concrete work was also subpar; we had to request that the installers come out several times because the concrete was uneven and there was water seeping in through the concrete. In fact, the caulking job and concrete work is still terrible, but after having the installers redo it three times, I decided I don’t want to deal with this company anymore and will either do it myself or find a competent installer to do it.

Prestige is incredibly good at billing. Per the terms of the contract, I was to make three payments: one at the beginning, one roughly halfway through the installation and the final payment upon completion. I made the first two payments on time and with a credit card; I was not charged any merchant/credit card fees. Towards the end of this five month ordeal, I was contacted by Prestige’s billing department four different times asking for the final payment...before the job was even done! Imagine how hard it would have been to get them to finish the installation then! When the time did come to make the final payment, I received an email from Prestige’s billing department with the invoice. I advised Prestige that my credit card had been compromised and canceled and I was waiting for the new card to arrive in the mail. Seven business days elapsed from the completion of the installation until the day I finally received my credit card in the mail. In that time, I received several emails and phone calls from the billing department, phone calls and texts from installers asking if they could come by my house and pick up payment in the form of a check, and finally an email from owner [redacted] proclaiming to be “the loud and proud owner of Prestige” and inquiring as to why I had not paid yet and if he could send an installer out to pick up a check. Apparently, this seven business day delay on payment because of my missing credit card was too much delay for the company that took five months to complete a six to eight week project. Also, “loud and proud” owner [redacted] had been on over twelve emails regarding the issues with our installation and he never once responded to any of my concerns; apparently, he’s only “loud and proud” when it comes to billing. Even though [redacted] was aware of my credit card situation, I explained again that I was just waiting for my new card to arrive in the mail. I also used that opportunity to explain to [redacted] all of the issues and bad experiences we had with his company. I waited 10 days from when I emailed [redacted] to write this review to see if I would get any sort of response from this “loud and proud owner”; to no one’s surprise, I never received a response.

To top it all off, I was told that the final payment would now be subject to a 3% additional charge due to a raise in Prestige’s merchant fees. I was never advised of a merchant fee at any point, I was not charged a merchant fee the previous times I made payments by credit card and there was no mention of a merchant fee in the contract. Not only is it disingenuous and unethical to try to tack that merchant fee on at the last moment and without prior notice, but Prestige was in violation of our contract, Florida Statute and its merchant agreements with the credit card companies by charging that surcharge.

All in all, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. We entirely regret retaining Prestige Windows and Doors for this important job and we hope that others do not make the same mistake.

The tenant did not give proper notice his roommate did. We explained to him he had to give separate 30 day notice which left him to pay prorated rent of $1,101.00. He stated he was going to get new roommate. He did not get roommate. Argued the fact that his friend gave notice. Yes, true,...

but the tenant had not given any notice. I told him I would ask owners of Granada Gardens to let him leave without proper notice & to pay his roommates half of prorated rent of $380. The owner agreed. He left the property before notice was up. The apt. was left with severely torn new vinyl upon move in. The new carpet was stained with grease and door was taken off closet in master bedroom. The law states each tenant must give a written 30 day notice which the tenant failed to do.

Review: I was renting a 2 bedroom/2bath apartment at this complex that was on a month to month lease with one roommate. My roommate informed me on January 6th 2015 that he had put in a "written/signed" 30 day notice before speaking to me about it. I was in shock and wasn't sure how to handle the news at that given moment. I chose to walk down to the office and speak with the onsite landlord manager about it. My roommate followed me down to the office to hear what I had to say as well as look out for his best financial interest. I briefly "verbally" discussed with the landlord that I wasn't sure what I was or could do at that moment. The landlord had nothing to reply back to me. I then broke the awkward silence with saying that I suppose I will try and look for either a new suitable roommate, pay the entire rent on my own (Aprox $1500), or find somewhere to move to. That was the end of that meeting in the office January 6th 2015 at 9:15am. Over the next week or so, I put ads out for the room to rent and searched for possibly places for myself to move to. I had several candidates interested in taking over my roommates room. Unfortunately, they were not a good match for various reasons. By the 21st of January 2015 I was confident that I found a suitable room to move into by the first of February 2015. I told my roommate about my decision which is when he told me to go inform the office/landlord. I did so on January 21st of 2015. The landlord then gave me a separate 30 day notice agreement that he wanted me to fill out. I put the same dates on there that my roommate (January 6th 2015) put as thats what was only fair. The landlord supposedly took it upon himself to physically change the dates on my 30 day notice to (January 21st 2015). Therefore, Granada Gardens is stating that my roommate owes $380 on 2/1/15 and I owe $1101 on 2/1/15. As of Today 1/30/15, I am completely moved out of that apartment as well as on my way to turn in my keys to the landlord.Desired Settlement: I should only be accountable to pay the same amount or split the amount of $380 that my roommate has paid from the original 30 day notice given on 1/6/15. No where on the lease states that there needs to be 2 separate "written" 30 day notices given to complex.
