Granada Ocean Resort

Review: I booked a 3 night stay through [redacted] for the Granada Ocean Resort and received an itinerary for my reservation securing my stay for July 10th 2015 to July 13th 2015. When I arrived at the hotel to check in, I was told that my reservation was never received from [redacted]. I advised the receptionist that I had booked this stay 4 months in advance; I showed her my itinerary with the reservation number and the confirmation from [redacted]. The receptionist stated that [redacted] always ruin their bookings and that the room that we booked is not available, but there was one vacancy left. She stated that it was a back up room for situations like this. It was not the room we paid for. We were also charged extra fees. We were quoted $208.00 a night. for a total of $624.00 for the entire stay based on my reservation from [redacted] for 2 Double Beds in 1 Bedroom Separate Living Room With Queen Sofa Bed. Because they had given our room to another guess we had to stay in a 2 double bed all in one room. It was dirty with dirty linens, dirty refrigerator and it had flies flying all around it. I have photos for proof. We did not fill comfortable staying in this room but because we drove eight hours to the resort and there was no where else to go we had no choice. My children were tired and me and my wife could not drive back home after that long drive. This room was in horrible condition and it was not what we paid for. We were also charged 14% more for taxes and another 3% more for using a credit card which was not listed in their advertising on [redacted]. We spoke with the manger the next day. He moved us to the proper room which was what we originally booked. He blamed the mix up on [redacted] and [redacted] blames the resort. We were quoted 624.00 and ended up paying 730.00 and did not receive the room that we paid for the first night. [redacted] stated that since I paid the hotel directly that I will need to contact them for a refund for the first night. I have been unsuccessful in getting any response.Desired Settlement: I would like a $243.33 refund for my first night stay. I had to stay in a room I did not pay for and it was in horrible condition. I would also like an explanation about the charges. [redacted] quote 208 a night. The hotel fee if booked directly through the hotel is $198.00 a night. The manager stated that the price difference is to cover the commission that they have to pay [redacted]. I question the extra 14% for taxes and the 3% for using a credit card. There was never a method of payment option.

This is unacceptable for any establishment to run a business. We should be able to use the facilities when needed. So me, my husband and my 2 children could not use the bathroom and could not get ready for our day. I would like to be reimbursed for out stay there because I was not comfortable at all.
