Business told me that they were giving me a Transmission Control Module. Business gave me the wrong part and said they there is no returns! $80 goneI called to verify that the business had the correct part that I wanted to fix my car (Transmission Control Module). I verified this several times over the phone with them and also verified with them when I was there. I called at about 8am in the morning and the gentleman on the phone (EXTREMELY RUDE) told me if would be ready in 1-1 & 1/2 hours. I called back 2 hours later and the guy, still being very rude, told me that it wasn't ready and he would call me when it was ready. Nearly 6 hours later he called me back and told me if was ready. They sold me an ENGINE CONTROL UNIT, which is COMPLETELY different from a TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, and said that there is NO RETURNS. I wasted $80 on a part that I can not use any longer. DO NOT GO TO THE GRANBY SALVAGE YARD THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS AND WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.Desired SettlementI am seeking my money to be refunded or the correct part that I asked for. It's not fun being a broke 21 year old kid and getting scammed by businesses. Business' Initial Response We have refunded the consumer his money. This should close the complaint. Thank you.
I am sorry that you had a bad experience with us, if you could tell me who you talked with I would look into it, as for computers here is our policy, when you call in for any computer we require the service off the old unit so we can match it up with the number on our computer or module, if they dont match then we advise you to do 1 of two things...1 take our vin # from the vehicle that the computer came out of and your vin # along with our service number off our computer and the service # off your computer then call the dealer and see if they are compatible if they are not then... 2. we advise you NOT to buy our computer, all of our computers come out of tested vehicles so we know they work...if they are not tested then we core them, other salvage yard will sell you computers or modules and not go through this process and sell you even if it is not compatible but we go through this process for our customers, as far as all sales final, if you short out the computer by making a mistake because you install the computer or module incorrectly then we are not responsible for that and we have no way of telling or testing what happened, all I can tell you is that every computer or module has been run tested in the vehicle or we do not sell it, I apologies for your experience with us and hope you find a salvage yard you trust to buy your parts rom
I apologize that you had a bad experience, there is no returns on computers from any salvage yard... BUT...unlike other businesses we go out of our way to verify that you are getting the correct computer for your vehicle by 1. verifying the computer service # on our computer with the service # on your computer, if they do not match then we recommend that you do not purchase the computer we have, 2. we also request that you bring in your computer so we can mirror up the parts and make sure the plugs are correct so if you received a transmission computer then that is what you asked for, we do this verification with all of our engine computers, transmission computers, air bag-body control modules-ETC...other salvage yards do not do this for their customers but we do...I apologize for your experience with us but our checks and balances to sell computers etc have been in place for years and work to help our customers get the correct part they need
