I took a group of high school seniors to Iceland and the experience was fantastic! Every part of the trip was well-orchestrated and each activity exceeded expectations. The group at Grand Classroom are an amazing group of professionals.

I was very sorry to hear about the young lady having asthma. We have children attend our trips all the time with various health issues, including many with asthma, and we are very proactive in accommodating these children and explaining all of the activities to parents and chaperones. Had we known of this we could have allowed for a hike that would have fit within her situation. I have asked our entire staff, and searched all of our emails, and we do not see any indication that this was brought to our attention. If the child would like to travel on a future trip, we would love the opportunity to discount the future trip and get this young lady to this very special place.

Met with Ed Jones at my school today. Long story short he asked what group/organization would be going; I stated our Black Student Alliance group. I asked for prices on three places Internationally and domestic; his response......."Would our community be able to afford it?" My thought was: "@#$@###$##%$##@@@@...."

My daughter has traveled with this group for several years. This year, I missed the deadline by 2 days. I called the school and they were not helpful at all. Finally, my husband was able to get someone to help and put her on a waitlist. We paid the whole trip. All the sudden, we get an email from the company refunding the money minus some fees. I wasn't even sure how why knew that far in advance that they wouldn't have space. No one ever helped with the situation or responded to me. We had some disagreements with the team leader of the trip in the past and I think they became a bit biased and shut my daughter out of the trip. Were not willing to even respond to my concerns. This trip was $1489 or so. it was my daughter's 8th grade field trip so it was important to her. Her last year of middle school. I think the group and company were not very apathetic to the whole situation. It was very sad and heartbreaking.

Review: In October of 2014 I paid $43.26 and $198.00 for a total of $241.26 to this company for a day trip to the Grand Canyon for me and my daughter with my daughter's school. I had emailed and called this company before paying for the trip because my daughter has exercise induced asthma and I was concerned about the weather and the possible hiking that would occur on the trip. I was told different things by different people at this company as far as how steep the hikes were and how many hikes we would be taking. I went ahead and paid, but then a week before the trip I decided that since no one could tell me for sure how steep the hikes were and how many hikes we would be taking, I would call and ask for a refund. I told this company I could provide a doctor's note that states my daughter's condition, but they said under no circumstances that they could give me any money back. This does not seem like an ethical policy for a company that solely deals with children, whom always have different issues coming up (such as becoming ill) that might not allow them to attend a trip they paid for. I would like a full refund since my daughter and I did not attend this trip and I let them know a week ahead of time that I wanted a refund.Desired Settlement: I would like $241.26 back from this company.
