I was planning to sign a lease here but came across several issues. First off, they didn't have correct rent amounts on their portal which lets you apply for each apartment. Therefore, after completing an application, I found out that the rent for that apartment was higher.

***, general manager of the complex, put in higher rent, $50 more, in the lease. She also told me $1299 included rent and utilities but it did not. If I would have signed the lease, I would be overpaying for rent by $50 monthly and also had a $95 surprise charge of monthly utilities which I was told were already included but were not. Ultimately, I felt like I was told incorrect information in order to get me to sign the lease. I also have reason to believe they have done to this to more than 1 person.

I was also disappointed as when I told senior VP of ***, ***, about the issue, he told me he'll have someone from the complex contact me to go through the lease. The next day, he changed his mind and told me I needed a lawyer for help with the lease as the staff was only there for "customer service." It was disappointing as no one thought *** behavior was inappropriate and I never received an apology or explanation of how this could have happened.

They lack transparency as incorrect amounts were posted on all of the website they control and you cannot double check what rent should be. They do not train their employees to read the lease. Therefore, they misrepresent the lease to potential residents. I have emails from *** explaining the lease wrong several times. I contacted ***, ***, and *** from *** but no one seems to be fazed by this situation.

To whom it may concern,

*** applied for an apartment at Grand Flats on March 23, 2020. She had neen working with myself, ***, to finalize the terms of her lease following March 23, 2020. *** felt as though she was misled and the communication had not been clear. *** proceeded to reach out the ***, Regional Supervisor, ***, Senior Vice President, and ***, COO with ***, the management company of Grand Flats. Each of these individuals apologized to *** for any miscommunication or behaviors that caused her to feel that way that she did and proceeded to answer all her questions. *** was provided an accurate lease agreement via email on April 24th, 2020 by ***. This lease included the pricing *** discussed with *** and ***. This included an additional discount to rectify the miscommunication *** reported.

On May 4th, 2020, *** notified all parties that she had leased an apartment elsewhere and requested her $50 application fee be refunded to her. *** processed this refund that same day and had it sent to the provided address via FedEx. This issue is considered resolved.

I am rejecting this response because: no apology from Randi Bailey and no explanation to why she gave me so much incorrect information. How do we know she is not going to be dishonest to others?
