Grand Prix Motel Reviews (%countItem)

This is the worst motel I have ever stayed in. I'm an Iraq veteran that would rather sleep in 3rd world country conditions with the option to be killed rather than sleep another night in this motel. The room 49 where we were staying had conditions of black mold, Bed bugs, rust/rot, easy access for thieves to break in, unclean towels with what looked like blood stains, pubic hair in the bed, and sticky carpet. I am going to the VA to get tested for disease. We were in Daytona for the race. This was the only available room for the weekend with $278 per night prices. RIP OF! I confronted the owner about the bed bug bites I received. "Bill", the owner, accused the previous person that stay in the room at fault and not the motel. Bill argued with me and attempted to offer me $175 for me to keep my mouth shut (really') I refused and demanded a health department inspection. The owner "Bill" inspected the room and said there are no bedbugs and said the sheets are changed once a week. That is disgusting. This place should be shut down and or condemned. No one should be able to stay here for health reasons. Bill called the cops and had us evicted on our last night stay on 2/18/2018 at 11pm at night with no where to go. We didn't deserved to have the cops called for we were not being violent and or threatening.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I would like to receive a refund. I also want this business shut down and/or condemned until the owner can properly keep the rooms clean. I want this owner "Bill" to give me a full apology over the phone.

I do not accept this response. I want him to prove what is stated in the letter. Disturbing the peace? I was not. My wife and I were trying to enjoy the race weekend. We spent a lot of money to enjoy that weekend to include race tickets and lodging. The race was more important. NASCAR wouldn't have stopped their event so my wife and I could settle room situation. What if he would have kicked us out that morning? We would have missed the race. I understand we stayed the previous 2 nights. I paid $278 for room per night. I paid for three nights and was kicked out on our last night to stay. I want that $278 back for the room I did not get to stay in that night.

Subject: responce back to ***s rejection

sir according to what I understand that mr *** had said that had he complained about the bed bug issue in the morning he would have been evicted in the morning and he would not have enjoyed his nascar race well here are the flaws to his reasoning

1) had he told me supposedly had bed bugs in his room , had I found any I would have giving him money back for the last night since I would not want to have anyone stay in a room that was infested , HOWEVER if he truely had been bitten then why in heavens name would he want to come back and stay . I mean think about it, the race was only starting at 3 pm and he met me twice before 9 am , if he had an issue we could have taken care of it early in the morning , plus if I knew I was been bitten by bed bugs in a room , I would not wnat to stay in that room and so I would take care of the matter immediately , any reasonable person would have , yet he waited till he came back from the race and reported the issue at about 10 pm .... like I said the race was 6 hours away it was not like he was going to miss start of the race . would anyone who knew that the room was infested leave all there belongings in the room ( clothes and bags ) so that the bugs can get in them ? . any reasonable person , no matter how pressed for time they where would rectify the matter immedaitely , and like I said he had 6 hours before the race would start. 2)
secondly. he feared I would throw him out, well umm if the room was infested would you rather stay in a infrested room or would it be wiser to find another place then be eaten alive . he could have rectified the matter in the morning.
3rdly. when mr *** came to the office and reported the issue if I wanted to throw him out , I would not have bothered to even go to his room to inspect the issue I could have called the police and simply have him removed.
4thly ... if I simply wanted to have him removed , as he so put it in writing that I offered him 125.00 to be quite? why would I even entertain the thought to make such an offer if my intention was to evict him all along?
5th..... he said he was not disruptive well , and rememeber this I have this all on video , when I left his room I asked him to come to the office since I was the only one on duty , and I could not leave my office un attended for a long period of time , if I had the intention of evicting him for no reason what so ever why would I ask him to come to the office. now as I have said before as I was coming down I heard him yell bed bugs from his belcony ... not only did I hear it but a a couple staying him room 35 heard it too. as I was coming down they saw me and asked me what was that all about and I told them did they hear the yelling too and they said yes ...... now how is that not disruptive .... fisrtly I just showed his that , three was no signs of bed bugs , he yells it out at about 11 pm while other people are sleeping bedddd bugsss , he buy doing so trying to ruin my name and my reputation without any proof from his said while I have video proof and also a customer heard the yelling ... please tell him how is that not disruptive .
I ONLY CALLED THE POLICE AND HAD HIM REMOVED AFTER HE STARTED YELLING.

im truely sorry that it had to end this way , but his behavior was childish and unfair and unacceptable , by trying to ruin my reputation by false accusations , esp. since I had proved to him that his claims held no foundations,... I took appropriate action , .

ps. when you returned my call I told you about another customer of mine who was standing on his balcony ( room 39 ) this customers name is paul and he over heard mr *** tell another customer that he planned to leave that night ( the night in ) ..paul will sign an affidavate to what he had heard mr *** say after he came back from the race.

yours sincerely

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The owner of this establishment is not a nice person and will do anything to protect his reputation. I had a strict schedule for that weekend and like I said before. There was no where else to go. The first night we stayed we did not have a problem. However, when I confronted the owner nicely the day I noticed my bug bights I was simply wanting to ask him for a different room. The owner became defensive and stormed in to our room searching for bugs aggressively. He immediately became to prove to me that there were no bugs. He checked my bed but did not check the room. The bugs are just one of the problems in the room. This room was not clean. As a consumer and a customer of the business I have yet received any professional cooperation from the owner or business itself. I will not rest until there is a agreeable compromise. I would even settle for an apology and for the owner to admit that the room is unclean.
