Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 12, 2015/10/05) */ We reached out to the customer and had him come back into the store with his unitOn October 3rd, the customer dropped off his bike for another diagnosesWe had our service manager test ride the unit and after some time we were able to reproduce the issue that customer was concerned withOur service manager got with the manufacture and was given three different options that might work to repair the issueIn discussing these with the customer, he decided that he would try the most cost effective and least time consuming solutionThe solution was to add a product to the engine and to go through a couple of tanks of fuel to see if there was any improvementAfter the 1st tank the customer returned and we changed the oil and re-diagnosed the issueThe problem was still there but at a smaller scalethe customer and our service manager decided to try the additive again and to have the customer return after more than one tank of fuel had been ran through itWe have spent approximately hours on diagnosing and working on this customers unit, with no charge to the customerWe have tried a number of times to reach the customer for an update and to have the customer come back down for us to see how the unit is running with no responseWe continue to reach out and hope to be able to follow up with the customer and make sure that he is completely satisfied with the services that we have preformed and with the way his unit is running

While we understand [redacted] frustration - there have been outside factors working against us from the beginningThe particular motorcycle [redacted] purchased was built by the previous owner/manufacturer commonly known as a " [redacted] " [redacted] motorcycleThis manufacturer ceased operations and was later purchased by [redacted] who now builds, sells, and supports a completely different motorcycle under the same [redacted] nameGrand Prix was never a dealer for [redacted] bikes, and because that manufacturer ceased operations there is essentially no dealer support for this motorcycleWe have gone to great lengths to obtain parts and technical information needed to complete the repairIn dealing with the parts suppliers we were given conflicting information on what parts would be available and whenThis is part accounts for some of the mis-communications we had with [redacted] ***We would be told one thing about parts by the supplier - only to find out something elseThis is especially true with the specially painted pieces like the fuel tankIn the end, we determined that a matching color original fuel tank was not going to be available, when we were initially told that it would beWe then discussed having these pieces paintedThat work has been subcontracted out to a specialty motorcycle painter because of the unique matte finish on the partsTo date, those pieces are still with the painterI have contacted the sub-contractor this morning and that work is at least another week outThis is not in the control of Grand Prix Motorsports, but is still the best possible solution to return [redacted] ***'s unique bike back to original conditionWhile we openly admit these was some missed communication and mis-communication during this repair, we also feel we have gone the extra mile to try and make [redacted] ***'s motorcycle whole - many if not most current [redacted] motorcycle dealers will not even work on [redacted] motorcycles due to the lack of manufacturer support. To address two other points: [redacted] ***'s insurance company was very difficult to communicate with during our original estimates and discussions about the repairThis contributed a lot to our early delays [redacted] says that I would not speak to him - which is patently falseI spoke to [redacted] by phone when he first reached out to me and again after I investigated the situation to better understand what was going onI then introduced him to Jon, our service manager who due to his position was in a much better position to understand and explain the status of the repairIf memory serves, I also gave [redacted] my cell phone number - which I usually do when there is a complaint because I often out of my office [redacted] has never called me at that numberWe very much value [redacted] as a customer, and would like to retain him as a customerConsidering that I just got this noticed the morning of 7/there is physically no possible way his bike to be completed today, primarily because the painted parts are out of our control [redacted] has indicated elsewhere that he is disappointed that his bike is not complete in time for a planned rideThis is the first we heard of that and I will be reaching out to [redacted] to offer him an alternative bike to use during that event

Review: I called this company in April 2013 to repair a Honda CRF 50cc and a small ATV. They insisted I pay cash for the repairs. They charged me $300 each vehicle to drain fluids and tune up. This included the pick up and drop off of the vehicles. They picked them up, took the cash at the time of pick up and held my vehicles for several weeks. I got my vehicles back on June [redacted] after I threatened to show up at the shop and get them myself. They chose to return them at 8pm. Upon returning them to me it was obvious that very little was done with them. Worse yet, it appeared that my son's 50cc had been ridden around and beaten up. The exhaust was dented, the bar was bent and the tire was flat. The delivery man said that he would return with a new tire. He did not. I had to take the 50cc to a new shop to repair the damage caused by Grand Prix Motorsports. The cost is estimated to be $200. Here is the invoice from Grand Prix (and I will get you the invoice from the shop that's fixing my 50cc) : [redacted]

I feel that this is a contract issue. I believe that the contract was not honored by the business. I also feel that that it is a service issue as they failed to honor their their agreement and the fact that they had my vehicles resulted in further damage of the vehicle.Desired Settlement: I want the $600 I gave to this shop plus the $200 that I have to pay to the other shop to fix it.

Review: Signed a contract with this company to sell my motorcycle on consignment. The term ran from April through May 2013. The contract stated the company was liable for any damage done to my motorcycle while in their possession and they would fix all damages at no cost. I attempted to contact the owner on several occasions to find out if there were any offers or if the bike had sold and never received a return call. Went to the shop numerous time, owner never there only mechanic by the name of [redacted]. The last week of May I was told by [redacted] that the clutch on the bike was damaged and needed to be replaced, but the owner was declaring bankruptcy and he expected the shop to be closed and property seized. I was told if I supplied the parts, [redacted] would repair. I supplied the part and was then told repairs could not be done, and I needed to take my bike which was now apart, missing a windshield and the gas tank was vandalized with a decal adhered to it. I removed the vehicle from the business since I was afraid would be able to obtain my motorcycle if the business was seized. I gave them a bike in perfect running condition and I am now left with a bike that is in pieces and a huge repair bill!Desired Settlement: I want to be reimbursed for all expenses I have incurred as a result of the damage they did to my property. They broke their consignment contract and destroyed my property.

Review: Bought a 89 Yamaha Virago in April. I thought it would be a good idea to take it to a motorcycle repair shop especially cause I had a battery problem. Thought it might need a tune up, break change, fluids drained and refilled, carburetor cleaning and chain tightened and greased. After getting charged $434.50 before I even dropped off the bike and $100 for a new battery. Waiting a week and a half for a call back. and then when I got that I had some scuffs on my exhaust from burning rubber boots and none of the work was done. my complaint is many made now because my bike wasn't taken care off and now has a transmission problem and leaking all over my garage. because of this company who neglected to take care of my bike when that was are agreementDesired Settlement: $434.50 for the money I spent with them

$500 for the motorcycle now needing further work
