 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: The information given to the manager was not truthful. The waitress, at no time, explained that the prices listed in the menu given out were in fact incorrect. The thing she specifically repeated was that you could not get the prime rib as a steak but instead, as a sandwhich. We explained that we wanted a meal with a salad and potatoe and she suggested the Tbone meal. She, at no time, stated anything about a different (market ) price, other than what the menu said. As for the time frame, my boyfriend said go ahead and just pay it, becasue we were running late for a play. We did not order another round! I do not want to see the waitress get in trouble but as we were leaving, I personally took her aside and explained that if I weren't running late, I would discuss this further with the manager. She voluntarily replied that I am not the first customer who has complained about this billing problem. I don't just randomly write a complaint to Revdex.com to hassle someone. There was absolutely no explanation of a different price or I would not have chosen the Tbone. It clearly stated that Tbone was the evening special. That is where I obtained my information. Not walking around the restaraunt looking for signs. If the Tbone was listed as market price on the menu, I most certainly would have asked for a price. As for the refund....keep it, I don't want it. I just want to make sure other customers don't get ripped off by poor pricing tactics.

Dear [redacted]:I received your complaint regarding the dining experience a patron had here on Saturday May , 2014. spoke with the server who waited on the table and I will address each issue the patron had.The server approached the table and after identifying herself told the...

table what our specials were for that evening, one of these was the open faced prime rib sandwich. She made no mention of the TBone, nor was it written on any of the three special boards. We were running a TBone and Prime Rib Dinner special and there is a flyer separate from our regular menu in our menu that states all specials that we run during the week, subject to change. We had removed these two items temporarily due to increased beef prices and we had signs posted throughout the restaurant that we have adjusted all beef and dairy items on our menu because of the increased costs. Two patrons in their group wanted the TBone special and the server explained to them that we did not have a special right now and explained that due to increased beef prices we had to temporarily remove it, the same with the Prime Rib Dinner. She took an order for the sandwich and again they wanted to order the TBone Special and she again explained that it was not being offered and that specials were subject to change. Two patrons insisted on ordering a TBone and she told them it would be off of the menu, they ordered it with their two sides (the special only came with baked potato and salad). All of the wait staff is completely aware of this temporary removal of these two items on Saturday as they have not been available for several weeks and the server who waited on them is a regular Saturday Night server. I was also here the night they were in and she indicated that she had people at a table who wanted TBones off of the menu as she wanted to make sure we even had them because of the price. When presented with their check one person was upset about the price and she again told them that she had explained what our specials were and that the TBone was not one of them, what the server believed to be her spouse told her to be quiet and pay the bill. They were ask if they wanted to speak with a manager and said no but still had time to order another rounds of drinks and shots before leaving. I would have been more than willing to discuss this matter with them, I would have been more than willing to discuss with them the following day, but no call was ever made to anyone here. After read the original complaint and before I spoke to the server was going to refund back to them the difference in the special and menu price but when the server said she explained all of this to the table several times I feel like they are not owed anything.I apologize for the delay in responding to this complaint; it has taken me a while to talk to everyone who was here that evening to verify all information.Should you wish to discuss any of this in further detail please do not hesitate to call me at [redacted]Sincerely,

Review: Several in our party decided to order the Saturday special listed in the menu: T-bone steak meal for 14.75, because the other Saturday special we were interested in, prime rib dinner with baked potato and salad was actually a prime rib open faced sandwich with fries and we wanted the meal, not a sandwich. When the time came to pay our bill, I noticed that we were charged the price of 17.75 and not the special price listed in the main menu. I discussed this with our waitress and from what I got from the conversation, it was not on special and price was based on availability??? I believe she was trying to explain that the price was subject to market price, and she then said the management would not correct the error. Apparently this has happened before, so she didn't even try. NO WHERE in the special was it stated that prices were subject to market price or was it discussed when we ordered. It was very clear we were making the choice based on it being a "special" for the evening. I would never have ordered a T-bone for 17.75! To make matters worse, the T-bone was only 1/4 inch thick...skinniest T-bone I have ever encountered, and tough as heck. Our party of 8 had plans to see a play and had little time to resolve this, so we paid and left. I believe the "specials" were falsely advertised and blatantly misrepresented. When the waitress realized we were interested in a complete meal, she even suggested the T-bone because of the sides that accompanied it. At no time was it stated that it was not the special price stated. I believe the waitress was following company protocol and it was not her fault...she was doing what she was told. She did an AWESOME job serving us!!Desired Settlement: The menu be changed to reflect the actual price of the product and/or a statement clearly written in the area of prices, stating that this product price is subject to change based on market price value/or availability. This will ensure that the customer has the opportunity to ask what the actual price will be and make their choice based on that.Train waitresses or waiters to state any menu prices that may not reflect the actual price because of changing market prices or availability.
