Before I put the house for sale I had a personal inspection Dec 14th 2014 to make sure everything was up to code. In...
which the buyer had an inspection done March 3rd 2015 In either inspection tvas there noted that there were water damage. Nor was there water stains nor mood from water entering the basement. [redacted] inspector/Realtor agent made a list of all repairs that she thought needed to be done before closing and everything was properly repaired/fixed.
There wasn't anything Noted about the basement because the basement never had any water entering the basement. The Basement always been very dry. I don't feel I hold any Liability to in repairs or paying for the expense coming from the leak. I have done everything that was requested by her Realtor.

While a home inspection was done, there was no way to check for water damage as the basement had been "finished." In the original report, the inspector mentions that he could only inspect what he could see. If you're going to finish a basement, you should waterproof it first, so as to avoid this very issue.
Even with the seller's own inspection done in December, there were still issues found. These were brought to the attention of the seller, who at first didn't want to fix them, and we were prepared to walk. It looks like this is the same type of response from him. Crappy work done all around!
