Grandview Saloon

Review: I booked a private party at the Grandview Saloon seven weeks prior to the date with a restaurant employee named [redacted]. Over the course of those weeks, [redacted] and I met in person twice and corresponded by email about the party details. One week prior to the event, on May 31, I received a voicemail from [redacted], with whom I had never spoken with or knew to exist, threatening to cancel my event unless I spent more money on food and drinks because the restaurant "would not make enough money" on my party "based on last year's figures". (I have learned through online research that Ms. [redacted] is the establishment's General Manager). After calling the restaurant several times that day, Ms. [redacted] finally returned my call. She was rude and condescending to say the least, however after speaking with her for about 20 minutes and explaining that she could not cancel my party without the consequences of a lawsuit, she reluctantly agreed to honor the reservation. On the day of the event, June 8, Ms. [redacted] arrived at my party with a police officer asking for me, then proceeded to engage herself in not one but several verbal altercations with many of my 25 or so unassuming guests prior to my husband's and my arrival to the party (it was a surprise birthday party for him). She also - incorrectly - published to all my guests who were in her earshot that I didn't "leave a deposit" so as far as she was concerned she didn't "even know if anything will be paid for." Ms. [redacted] also had the audacity to tell my guests that they would be kicked off the property if I did not arrive within the next 30 minutes because I only booked the room from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm, which was also incorrect (I booked the room all evening). The details of Ms. [redacted]'s conversations with my guests are incredulous, however too lengthy to include in this complaint. I called the restaurant owner, [redacted], the following Monday and he promised to investigate the matter. However, he hasn't contacted me back and wont return my calls.Desired Settlement: I would like at least a fair percentage refund of the $1200 I spent on the party, given the outrageous behavior of Ms. [redacted], along with the fact that the establishment promised me a clean venue (which I was not provided;a few of my guests literally had to clean up the bar area and move chairs), as well as two servers for my event (I was only given one; that serveindicated to me that Ms. [redacted] decided to have the other one work another area of the restaurant that night because they were busy.
