Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: I first would like to thank the Revdex.com, because their involvement has at least started dialogue between Granicrete and myself, which before there was noneI have carefully reviewed Granicrete's response and respectfully decline the $3,000.00 settlement offer for the following reason:1) The State of Hawaii has informed me that Granicrete is unlicensed and as such in doing the driveway work/installation is in violation of licensing lawPer my e-mail dated November 26, I am requesting $7,to settle this matterUpon receipt of the $7,I will immediately 1) withdraw my claim with the Revdex.com against Granicrete 2) withdraw my claim with RICO against Granicrete 3) stop the filing of civil action in the First District Court of Honolulu against GranicreteFinally, I will sign a letter created by Granicrete stating that upon receipt of the $7,that this matter is closed and that I will not engage in any future action and/or claims against Granicrete.Sincerely,James L***
In
response to Mr. [redacted] demands and threats, we will not be paying him off. We
feel that these extortion tactics are unreasonable and we have been more than
responsive to his needs.
Mr. [redacted]
has done his own alterations to his driveway on several occasions that we know
of, by grouting the groutlines, applying additional coloring, and sealing the
surface without using a non-skid additive. After these alterations were made by
Mr. [redacted] himself, he complained about the coloring and slippery surface. We
had been out to Mr. [redacted] home on multiple occasions after his alterations to
assist him with solutions at no charge.
Customer
satisfaction remains our top priority. We are happy to further assist Mr. [redacted] with his driveway. In
his demand letter to us, Mr. [redacted] indicated that he was in a contract to
install a new driveway. We are not
willing to fund this new project because he wants to purchase something else
years later.
Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: I feel compelled to respond to the unsigned letter from Granicrete for the following reasons: 1) I have never demanded or threatened anyone throughout this process. Infact if you read my e-mail dated 11-26-14 I "asked" for $7,000.00 to bring this matter to a close. 2) Granicrete has been " more than responsive". By September 2013 the driveway was completely faded or washed out and slippery. in Octobter 2013 Granicrete met at my driveway and explained to me that all I needed to do was to "reseal" it and that it would "pop" and again look like new. I followed Granicrete's directions and resealed the driveway immediately, with absolutely no change. So concerned I then met in December 2013 with the office manager, who wrote in a e-mail to me dated April 14, 2014 "that we do intend to take care of those issues". On May 27, 2014 I was scheduled for two days with Granicrete, day one surface cleaning and day two recolor and reseal with grit. On May 27, 2014 [redacted] called me and was angry wanting to know what I wanted from him!! He canceled May 27, 2014!! We did meet on May 28, 2014 and he blamed me for the poor surface condition. I reminded him that I simply followed his directions nothing more. [redacted] finally agreed to do the recolor and reseal on June 30, 2014 if I paid for the sealant in the amount of $644.40. On June 30, 2014 [redacted] and one helper showed up at 8:30am and a two day job became one. There was no surface cleaning or prep and then there was no Granicrete product, but rather a [redacted] Concrete Stain, which was sprayed on and then topped with grit. The entire job was done by 3pm. By November 4, 2014 the driveway surface was again coming up and dangerously slippery. I asked [redacted] to come out and to inspect the work that he had done...I received nothing from him. Finally, on November 26, 2014 I sent an e-mail to him explaining my concerns and a desire to bring this matter to a conclusion for $7,000.00. I heard nothing from Granicrete until the Revdex.com became involved.
SUMMARY-1) I did apply concrete material to a dozen small cracks. This did not alter the color or traction of the driveway surface it was purely for cosmetic reasons only. 2) I have never added color to the driveway. 3) I resealed the driveway only after being directed to do so by [redacted]. 4) I have not "altered" the driveway surface. 5) I have "complained" about the slippery surface since September 2013. In other words, it has been a serious problem starting in the first year. 5) Granicrete has "assisted" me at no charge is again not true his last visit cost me $644.40. 6) I can not continue to repair the driveway surface every 4-5 months. This is not what I was guaranteed. 7) I have been very clear with Granicrete on what to expect from me: Claim to Revdex.com, Claim to State of Hawaii RICO, civil action to be filed in the First District Court of Hawaii. This does not constitute extortion. 8) I do not need Granicrete "funding" my new project. What I need is a drivway that looks good and can be safely used all year long for years to come.
In a final attempt to resolve this matter I will accept $5,000.00 to bring this matter to a comclusion. Sincerely,[redacted]
