Granicrete for her business to serve her clients.  The contract warranty, promises, and guarantees [redacted] made to her clients are wholly independent of Granicrete International.  [redacted] has already stated she enlisted a law firm to recover the damages she seeks. On her behalf this firm made demands for payment and threats of possible court action. Granicrete and our attorney made repeated requests for additional documentation which was never received including copy of the agreement between [redacted] and her client as well as confirmation for proof of payment from [redacted]’s client to [redacted] is now using the Revdex.com as she seeks remedy by filing this complaint by stating Granicrete’s product is at fault.Among the documentation received from [redacted]’s law firm were invoices that are said to be related to the products purchased for this installation of [redacted] for her client.  Those invoices clearly state that Granicrete’s liability is limited to the replacement of product and that the purchaser is responsible for products’ applications and warranties.  This limited liability is standard among manufacturers. Once the product leaves our care we have no control as to how the independent installer transports, stores, mixes, applies, or uses the product. Nor does the manufacturer have control as to how the independent installer’s client cares for the finished product.Upon [redacted]’s notification in 2013, Granicrete records show at least one other prior consumer is[redacted] regarding an installation by [redacted]. Prior to Granicrete doing the courtesy visit to [redacted]’s client, Granicrete also discovered that [redacted] is no longer a licensed contractor. Inspection of the tops found atypical yellowing. Per the invoices referenced above, [redacted] did not purchase any UV resistant top coatings that are taught and supplied by Granicrete that could have been applied over the epoxy which could have helped in diminishing yellowing.2. In addition to UV exposure as a cause for yellowing, manufacturers state that some of the common installer-related is[redacted]s to cause atypical yellowing anddiscoloration include: 1. Review: I have full documentation to support each of the items listed below.)

In early 2011 I spent many days and thousands of dollars receiving training at Granicrete International Headquarters and became a Certified Granicrete Installer. In August of 2011 I fabricated four beautiful, crystal clear over white custom epoxy countertops for a client in Tempe, AZ. Per Granicrete's requirements to maintain their warranty, I exclusively used Granicrete products and explicitly followed the training I had purchased from them. The clients had made a substantial investment in completely custom countertops ($6215), and were thrilled with the results, saying they were even more spectacular than they had ever imagined.

On September 27, 2013 my clients contacted me. After spending time away from the heat , they reported to find that their countertops had yellowed dramatically. On 11/29/13 I visited the client and was astonished at the color change. The formerly sparkling white counters looked like old cultured marble that had been in a smoker's house for 40 years. I contacted Granicrete and explained the situation. They immediately claimed it was due to UV exposure. That didn't make sense since two of the countertops are in rooms with no windows and absolutely no exposure to UV stimulation. The product was defective, and the clients wanted the countertops replaced at no cost to them. I asked Granicrete to go the the site and see the tops in person. They became unresponsive.

It became clear that Granicrete had no intention of accepting responsibility for selling a defective product, so I went to the considerable expense of hiring a reputable business law firm. On January 21, 2014 my lawyer sent a demand letter to Granicrete, stating that the products they sold to me had breached the Implied Warranty of Merchantability, and specified $6215 to be repaid by Granicrete. Granicrete's attorney responded with a letter dated 1/27/14 with a list of demands for documentation. On 2/28/14 my attorney responded with a final demand letter and emphasized that the client was going to have the tops removed, so they needed to contact my attorney by no later than March 5th to arrange an appointment to see the tops in person.

Granicrete did go to the site on March 21, 2014. Curiously, their attorney’s letter of denial was dated March 20, 2014. In it they acknowledged that photographic evidence of the counters in September of 2013 compared to those taken at installation revealed an atypical amount of yellowing. Then they went on to blame me and the client for the discoloration.

It is clear that the product is at fault. Granicrete has not acted in an honest or responsible way in this situation, and should be held to the high ethical standards that have framed on the wall in their office.Desired Settlement: Refund of entire amount invested by my client, $6215. They will be removing the Granicrete countertops and having a reliable product, such as granite or marble installed.

I had a negative experience after paying my training fee, there was no technical support and the company president was rude telling me it was up to me if I wanted to loose the money I invested and he was never going to give a refund, but I could not study their online program if I could not gain access to their online training videos and technical support would never help me. Beware, they will be really nice to you but once they get your money they won't care anymore.
