We had a small leak in our roof. We called all over and everyone was booked three weeks out. Finally we found a roofer who would come quickly. The owner came and looked at our roof and said he would go back to his office and write up a contract. He sent it to us and said it would be $505 to fix it. My husband signed the contract because we were desperate to get the roof fixed. An older man came to fix the roof and was here for 45 minutes and came to say it was done. We couldn't understand him- he didn't speak English - so we have no idea what he did. We assumed the amount would be altered since it was an easy fix but no - we owe $505 for 45 minutes of work. If we don't pay in 10 days we get charged 1.5% per month finance charge. And to pay with a charge card is 2% "convenience" charge. I am writing this to warn anyone who is looking for a roofer not to deal with this company.

I had a great experience with Granite Basin Roofing. I called because I had a leak somewhere near my chimney. The woman who answered the phone was very friendly. It was going to be two weeks before someone could come out to look at the problem and make an estimate, but she took my phone number and address, and said she would call if she thought she could squeeze me in before then. She called that afternoon and made an appointment for the following Monday, just 4 days away. That Monday [redacted] came over to look at my roof. He was also very friendly and professional. He quickly found an area that needed caulking, and suggested we start with that to see if that would stop the leak. He answered all my questions, and told me what the next steps would be if we needed to go further. All in all, the visit was informative, useful, and under $50!
