The granite looks fine in the end but I would never recommend this company to anyone because they cannot deliver on-time nor with quality workmanship (unless pressured to make it right and to do a good job)I would highly recommend you get everything in writing down to the smallest detail as the communication within this company is very poorI had to deal with different people who all came to my house at different times yet they either never talked to one another about what we had discussed or they simply all had different ideas about what we had discussedAs a result, my instructions were not communicated among themselves nor with the installers so there were many problems with this project, which are detailed belowIt was a nightmare
Here are just a few of the problems I encountered:
Was told the job would be done in weeks: job finished in weeks and I had bare, demolished walls in my master bathroom and unfinished half wall in my family room over Christmas when we had guests (and we advised GD we would be having guests yet they were unable to finish the job as promised)
Charged for a service that was never delivered ($for a faucet cutout when the faucet sits on top of the bathroom sink so it was not required, but they charged me for it anyway)
Installers arrived late on the occasions when installs were scheduledInstallers left broken pieces of concrete in my flower beds after a concrete counter top broke when they were taking it to the truck and they never bothered to clean it up
During first installation scheduled, the installers worked for hours on demolition and trying to get pieces of granite to fit kitchen counter tops, but ultimately they refused to install the granite after talking to their office because all of the pieces of granite were cut wrong so they just left and took all of the granite with themThe owner (Jeff) later blamed the installers for poor performance and criticized these installers HIS OWN STAFF! for not doing the installHe said if he were around he would have made them cut EVERY PIECE on site to make them fitHe said "the granite was cut that way (all wrong sizes) on purpose so the installers could cut them to size on site"REALLY?????? I've never heard such nonsense
Second time for the install, there were several pieces missing because they were not cut to start with and at least other pieces were broken at the fabrication factory or the installers broke themThis resulted in a week delay to finish the job and, again, Jeff blamed the factory for the delay and would not accept responsibility for this
Their "operations manager" advised us to have rectangular pieces cut for the top of half walls rather than wrapping two ends around a wall (which was how the existing tops were cut) and not to angle cut the ends since he said this was very hard to do and therefore wouldn't look rightI agreed on the condition that the end product would look professionalThe first one installed looked terrible and a 1/2" gap was left under the wall (which I would have to fix since Granite Direct doesn't fix these although the did start to mud two other spots, which I finished)I insisted they fix it properly and pointed out that they had provided poor advice on the finishing in an attempt to simply get the job done as fast and as cheaply as possible without any regard to aestheticsvery unprofessional as I'm sure they would never put similarly cut granite in their own house
My instructions on fit and finish which was discussed with different people on at least or occasions was not captured in any documents and therefore, the installers did not have the correct instructions to finish the job since GD "management" did not talk to each other and tell the installers what was requiredLuckily I was on site to make sure things were done right or else many things would have been incorrect
Second crew of installers contracted to finish the job were not given detailed instructions on what was required and, again, I had to be on hand to tell them what to do or else it would have been done wrongagain!
Jeff constantly blamed his staff, the fabrication factory, his truck breaking down, and on and on for the delays and poor performance rather than accepting responsibility for the chaotic process, continual delays, breaking granite, bad communication, etc., etc
This whole project was a fiasco right from the start yet Jeff shrugged it off and said these things happen and it wasn't his fault, while blaming everyone else from his staff, to suppliers, fabricators and, good Lord, the weather!
I'm sure Jeff will dispute everything I've said here and will once again blame everyone else because that's his MOI will tell you thisI have evidence to back all this up: emails, estimates and invoices, pictures and even eye witnesses
Based on my own experience, I would never recommend this company to anyone

Business has payment in full, we have finished contract and they do not respond to emails and phone calls
We hired Granite Direct in September of to complete a new kitchen and bathroom countertop to be done by November 30, They did not show us the actual product we were purchasing, which is less than acceptableThey did not install until mid December, they were late on everything, I was hosting Christmas, they got the doors and drawer fronts put on even though they were not completed up to standardThey all have to be redoneThey have broke every single deadline and promiseChristmas parties were missed, hours upon hours of contacting, emailing, hounding have happened and no resultsI had temporary countertops installed for Christmas that were dangerous to my children who ended up with a face injury the day before her Christmas concert We are on our second round of wrong bathroom countertops, awaiting the backsplash piece that was yet promised to be installed weeks

I'm a person of few positive reviews but would give Granite Direct a very positive Review

I entered a draw at the Women's Home Show with Granite Direct Inc I won $1,off cabinet and granite counter top renovation(Oct.28/16)
Their Design Consultant had estimated the whole kitchen which I requestedI was most interested in having a small section doneThe back wall opposite the kitchen counter & perhaps a pantryI told her I would let her know and this was back in
I emailed her Feb24, in the hopes of getting the work done in 2017; and could she send me these quotes and date them for I let her know the reason for this request, so that I may submit these quotes to the government, as I may be entitled to a Senior's grant
Her responses:

# -Unfortunately, the invoice would show that no payments had been made on it So it would still show a balance of $2,left owingTo go to a sale you need to make a payment of

If I could leave a star I wouldI went through granite direct for a bathroom vanity countertopThey told me 1-weeks as they already had the stone in store ( a cutoff) from another projectAfter weeks got the call to come get my countertopThe sink cut out was not to the measurements specified and a hack jobNot square they cut to big of a whole and jammed the sink inAfter speaking to Jeff (the owner) he assured me that was not the quality of work he intends to deliver told me I would be taken care ofAfter no contact for weeks I went to the store to be told he was going out of business and had no money to fix my issue

Granite instalment quality
On December 1, 2017, I signed the agreement and paid deposit for granite countertops to my kitchenThe date was scheduled to get the measurements of my kitchen so they could start working on my graniteSales man promised me I will have granite installed the second week of January
I got granite countertops installed in JanuaryWhen installers brought the granite and started to install it, they noticed that one piece is not cut straightThe management promised to get us new pieceSo one problem was solved
Another problem we having is the seamInstallers didn't get the right color for the epoxy glue, so seam looked very bad and very visible on the graniteAlso they chipped the granite when they performed the jobChip was covered with bigger amount of glue, which gave a very bad looking yellow spot in the seamWe complained about the seam, because the quality was not acceptable for the amount of money was paidFew days latter service man c

The purpose of this review is to express a real bad experience dealing with Granite Direct Incof Calgary regarding installation of quartz countertops in our kitchen The project was awarded to them based on strengths of a senior sales person (***) at the Calgary Home show recently Unfortunately, she left after days of the project award and we were faced with new staff
Sample Not Representative of the Population (Slab)
The key issue we faced was there was a significant difference in the pattern of the original sample shown and given to us at the time of the award versus what we received (the actual slab) at the time of the installation As this slab pattern was not what me and my daughter *** wanted when we first went to the shop The problem was they had shown this small piece of sample which did not have the funnel /cl

We used Granite Direct in spring to renovate our kitchenThe process started in June with a very thorough meeting with Kim & Ray to make a plan of our kitchen and make all the design decisionsThey also came out to the house to re-measure to make sure all potential problems were solved before orderingWe loved that we had so much helpWith the design of the kitchen as well, so many choices for the cupboards/counters/hardware, and the choice on how much we wanted to be involvedWe were well aware of the time frame that we had to wait for the cupboards to come in and it was almost exact on the estimated dayWe demo'd the kitchen ourselves and install was done by Granite DirectI was amazed on how fast it took to install and the great job doneAny areas of concern were instantly fixed and a few items were found -that I didn't see -GD went out of their way to fix the problemsThe only negative would be the waiting time, but it was something I was aware of from the beginning and for the reduction in cost was something I was willing to doIn that same thought, items that were found to be defective had to be resent from the company in China, but it did not hold up install time or function of the kitchenI LOVE the counters and cupboards, I can't believe I lived with my "old" kitchen for the past years!! I would definately recommend Granite Direct to my friends and family!!

Just have my bathroom vanity countertop done with the companySo I would like to share my experiences with other customers
The product - I selected the same granite as the showroom demo kitchen countertopThe fabrication quality of mine is not as good as the showroom oneThere are some hair lines and tiny chips on the surfaceI guess that might be either the fabrication technology or the material per se are not as good as the showroom one I have other granite at my kitchen purchased from LowesThe surface is much smoother and more shinning than this one
The installation - it is very professionalThey did great job and answered all of the questions
The price and waiting time - The price is lower than my other quotations about $The waiting time when I ordered it, I was told about 4- weeksActually it took weeks from my order placed to the the date to book the installation
The customer service and communication - I required the longest piece of countertop and the matching piece of backsplash for only one whole piece eachBut they only provided me the complete one piece of countertop, and two split pieces of backsplshThat really upset meI questioned with Jeff ***, and he explained as "too risky to break it during shipping" I would think they should have told me about that in advance, or showed it up on the drawingThen I can work with them to figure out other options, or at least adjust my expectationsI emailed a picture to Jeff as per his request to show the mark line (seam) in the middle of the backplash to see if they can make it better one week agoSo far, no responseMaybe they think it is the best they can doAnyway, business is communicationI wish they can improve it

Counter install: they damaged beyond repair kitchen sink by taking a hammer to undersideThe sink does not sit flush, has dents/scratches on surface
Granite Direct (Edm Ave) was contracted to install a kitchen countertopIt was installed on Dec after waiting over months for it to arrive
-I was advised installation would take hours, it took 1/2hrs
-I asked them if the measurer had told them about my request for low odor, which they had notI had purchased some options for them to use if possibleThey advised they could
-I was initially happy that they tarped the flooring to keep from tracking into the house, but they would trip over the tarp and just kick it out of the way and tracked wet/dirt in anyway
-When the cutting of the sink was beginning, I had a paper template, the actual sink, and an installation manual for the sink that I provided to them
-Just after pm, the one worker went outside and the other sat down on my couch to watch tvI asked him if

Purchased new granite countertops for our new home - bathrooms,kitchen and laundryThey installed two counters (kitchen and bathroom) which had been brokenThey tried to cover this up by filling in the cracked piece with a fill that isn't even close in colour
We spent close to and expected new counters.the company didn't even tell us they broke it!! After complaining multiple times I was advised they would change out the two piecesThe owner and manager are now no longer returning calls, emails or texts
If youre wanting damaged material that they retry to pass off as new,use this company!! They even had the nerve to say it was just impurity in the stone
