Review: I had my membership cancelled from Granite after a complaint was told to the management that I was allegedly using my cell phone in the locker room. Staff was worried about "Taking pictures" which was not the case. I was checking my blood sugar at one time, and a second time I was on-call and had a beeper with me. I was also using an I-tunes at one point. It seemed from that point on rumors began to start and one employee had complained that this person was uncomfortable when I was around. It was an employee who had known for a few months and exchanged phone numbers with and once in awhile texted. The membership was dropped by the management and I was not even informed. It was stated that they called me, however I do not have any record of being called. It was based on a lot of hear se that my membership was cancelled.Desired Settlement: I would like my membership back and be able to work-out with out being bothered by the staff.

This letter is in response to the complaint filed by [redacted] against Granite Health and Fitness.

On April 19th I was informed that [redacted] was following men in the locker room with his cell phone and subsequently following men In the weight room. The members felt he was taking pictures with his cellphone. We have a sign posted stating no cell phones in the locker rooms. I spoke with [redacted] on April 22th and informed him of the issues that were being presented to me, I told him that if the issues continued he would no longer be a member. This was a verbal conversation. He then proceeded to call the manager at our second location and complain to him in regards to the conversation we had and threatened defamation of character, Please see attached email dated April 30th from the other manager for verification.

Final incident: On August 13th I was informed by one of my staff members that [redacted] again was using his phone and had even touched the stomach of one of my staff. This was an uncomfortable situation for all involved. I called the phone numbers listed on his membership agreement and was unable to get ahold of him. I did however; leave a message informing him that his membership was terminated. We reserve the right to cancel a membership at any time. [redacted] signed the membership agreement that clearly states the rights of all involved. Please see attached documentation.

I had to read the response of Granite upside down, however I do not agree. I do not see where any place of business can terminate a membership based on hear se, not to mention something that is not true. Ms. [redacted] keeps mentioning the cell phone, again I had my I tunes with me, not a cell phone. It sounds as if somebody was being paranoid on the day mentioned from Granite. The entire compliant seems rather Juvenile. I have belonged to a few different health clubs in 20 years and have never experienced something like this. When Ms. [redacted] mentions that she attempted to call me, I do not have any record of her calling. She states that she left a message on the answering machine, which seems rather unprofessional to leave a message like that. Ms. [redacted] does have my current cell number as she used it to contact me in April. I do feel that deformation of character has taken place here and that as a result of it I lost a membership to a place where I did enjoy at one time.
