Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. We have had the yard as an on-going project for years and are still working on it as budget allows Not everything in front is from your yard, and we used some to fill in by the house and what was by the drive, as well as around the trees We did get some materials from you maybe years ago, but took them in a pickup and put them around I wish you had let me know you would be here as I could have shown you the back where we had to dump the dirty stuffJust dropping by and not even leaving a card or phone message you were there was not very professional If you were sincere about reconciling, that would have been the way to go This is the first I am hearing you were here All messages I got were unresponsive I called you back once, when I got a message, but you never re-responded It was so frustrating to know what to do You did send a load that had dirt in it from the loading process This was acknowledged by the driver telling me I was given a half ton credit Again I never figured out where that was shown on the bill, and that would have been about $for the extra dirtWe worked through this load as best we could, separating the dirt and washing it down I thought this was usual, until I was told by a neighbor who was a retired landscaper, probably not As a homeowner, we do not have access to screening The load could have been screened and that it took a lot of time on our and water to clean up the gravel Yes, I inspected the load prior to loading but this was before all the dirt got in it Maybe from the jostling in the truck and the dumping on the drive, the dirt got into the whole load, not just part of it As time went on, it was apparent that this was a mess I am not saying we didn't use the rock, nor am I askign for full reimbursement, I'm saying it took us more time to load it to the back in wheel barrows and that I had to use it in an area not intended for our plans It took many phone calls, and I never connected with the owner, only the receptionist She continued to rely messages to me and it was frustrating to look at the mes sat the end of the drive and not get any response This went on for some time, but at least the men who helped were good natured and told me they would work as best they could with what we had I will re-iterate, we found some decking the load, which is not usual And yes, the front looks pretty good, but we still need some more rock for the front, and would not have to buy more we had a good load from you I am not asking for the full amount back, and admit we used what we had after washing and sorting We are only asking for some of what we paid so we can order some more Again, a face to face early on with my first call would have solved all this You did indeed see the end of the cleaning, clearing, and placement, so have no real idea of what we faced Regards, [redacted]

Just dropping by and not even leaving a  card or phone message you were there was not very professional.  If you were sincere about reconciling, that would have been the way to go.  This is the first I am hearing you were here.  All messages I got were unresponsive.  I called you back once, when I got a message, but you never re-responded.  It was so frustrating to know what to do.   You did send a load that had dirt in it from the loading process.  This was acknowledged by the driver telling me I was given a half ton credit.  Again I never figured out where that was shown on the bill, and that would have been about $23 for the extra dirt. We worked through this load as best we could, separating the dirt and washing it down.  I thought this was usual, until I was told by a neighbor who was a retired landscaper, probably not.   As a homeowner, we do not have access to screening.  The load could have been screened and that it took a lot of time on our and water  to clean up the gravel.  Yes, I inspected the load prior  to loading  but this was before all the dirt got  in it.  Maybe from the jostling in the truck and the dumping on the drive, the dirt got into the whole load,  not  just part of it.  As time went on, it was apparent that this was a mess.  I am not  saying  we didn't use the rock, nor am I askign for full reimbursement,  I'm saying it took us more time to load it to the back in wheel barrows and that I had to use it in an area not intended for our plans.  It took many phone calls, and I never connected with the owner, only the receptionist.  She continued to rely messages to me and it was frustrating to look at the mes sat the end of the drive and not get any response.  This went on for some time, but at least the men who helped were good natured and told me they would work as best they could with what we had.  I will re-iterate, we found some decking the load, which is not usual.  And yes, the front looks pretty good, but we still need  some more rock for the front,  and would not have to buy more we had a good load from you.  I am  not asking for the full amount back, and admit we used what we had after washing and sorting.  We are only asking for some of what we paid so we can order some more.  Again, a face to face early on with my first call would have solved all this.   You did indeed see the end of the cleaning, clearing,  and placement, so have no real idea of what we faced.

I [redacted]  FEMALE  small business owner responds to Mrs [redacted] complaint by saying…I am sorry you had a bad experience at our business but you came in to look at and approve the material on 11/1/2013 the next day we loaded that same pile and brought it to you, you then proceeded to...

lay the material on the ground and used all of it except for 1 wheelbarrow approximately ½ ton of fines. Two weeks later you  then called us demanding we come pick up the small pile of fines and demanded a refund on the basis that you had to pay more in labor to have your workers remove the fines when we had credited you for the fines already the day you picked out and ordered the material! You then  demanded I come up and look as it was more than that…I told you I would come up and look, but if you had already paid the men 300.00 more in labor to remove the dirt then what was I to come up and look at? You screamed horrible things and hung up,so I got in my car and drove up there ,You were nowhere around and did not respond to door bell or telephone…so I looked around your pretty landscaped yard that you used our material on and I took pictures of the material fines left over and I said to myself…I honored everything I could with this woman and if she wants something for nothing she will have to come up with a better story! A year later your story is still the same and mine is still the same….I  treated you with the utmost respect and truth and I have NO guilt about your pretty little yard!Pictures are available! Review: I ordered rock fill and was told a the time of delivery that they had a scrapper full of dirt in the mix when they filled the truck,so they took off a half ton. I cannot tell from the bill that this was done. There was little I could do as I was told this when the material was delivered and dumped and I could not look in the truck. These people blind sided me with this quick switch. I had no idea what a mess they were leaving in my drive. Once the material was delivered, I realized that there was a lot of dirt in the middle as well. There was even a piece of decking in the mix. This looked like a bunch of gravel they didn't want or that was returned to them. Tthey argued I inspected the material in their yard, but believe me, what I looked at did not show any dirt. I asked that they take it back, and they refused unless I paid for the removal. I called and even went to see them, but no one (the owner) in authority ever responded. I just got the secretary giving me messages. The gravel was dumped on the drive, so I had to get it moved. I hired extra help to haul it -the junk -to the back . This was an extra expense I did not count on. We had gotten loads before with no trouble, but we hauled it our selves. I don't understand why my bill says the cost was $45, when my notes on theri business card said $43. They took advantage of a female homeowner, and certainly they wouldn't treat their commercial concerns this way. I am very close to their yard and taking the bad materiel would not be a lot of bother for them. There was no reason for them not to adjust things or see they were made right. They knew they had a bunch of dirt in the mix anyway, and by just dumping it in the yard before telling me is sneaky and mean. I still need gravel and rock fill, but will not order from them.Desired Settlement: While I did use the material out of desperation, I had to hire people to haul it to the back and I had to put it in a different place I did not intend to use it for. It went in the common area drainage ditch, and with all the rains, most has shifted and I had to reposition it again. This was more time and expense. .

The total bill is $351.86. I would ask for half back to cover additional labor costs and the fact that I could not use the majority of the junky materiel they sent me for the majority of the work area intended.
