I am the owner of Fast Plumbing and was the tech on site. When I arrived, he had a dark spot on the hardwood floor and wanted me to run a camera down the kitchen drain for $375. I did run the camera down the kitchen drain and noticed that the drain was clear, clean and had no obvious signs of a...

break. I did mention to him that he has a second p-trap under the slab and I asked if he wanted me to run the water leak detection equipment for $375. He said yes and I proceeded. (this is the same equipment City of Austin uses) There was no signs of a water leak in this area. I also ran the infrared equipment that did not show a differential in this area. There are no signs of a plumbing leak, plus the hardwood floor has been like this for 2 weeks with no "buckling" to the material. I recommended that he speak with a hardwood floor specialist. After I ran the camera, he asked which way the drain ran. I informed him that the camera does not tell me that, I would have to use our locator which would be an additional service, and cost. I also mentioned there is a hydrostatic test that we could perform at additional cost. He declined both. My professional opinion is this is some type of chemical spill/urine from the dogs.At the time of invoicing he refused to pay for both services that we provided, and only wanted to pay for the camera. Our ultimate goal is to do the best job we can and to satisfy our customers.
