My experience with Granite Retirement has been a positive experience for five plus years The staff is professional, personable, knowledgeable and accessible in my interactions in person and by phone They offer company picnics, holiday events to meet and greet staff and customers In addition, educational events and resources for investments, legal and community contacts are available Occasional entertainment to TPAC and the Nashville Symphony are offered to clients as appreciation I highly value and trust GR staff

We hired the company to file our tax returnDue to errors on their part, it has been months and we have yet to receive our return
We hired the company to file our income taxesDue to a software issue, more than customers had wrong information and wrong bank account information submitted to IRSGranite told us there was nothing they could doWe have spent MONTHS trying to track down our refundFinally discovered it was sent to a wrong account number (submitted by Granite) on March and the money is now goneIRS is still trying to track down this moneyIt is AugustOur credit is destroyedWe have incurred interest payments to people we owe, our renovation is stalled, our son couldn't start college this fall, and when we do get paid, I am sure we will not receive interest from the months that the government has had our money
We have asked, begged and even threatened legal action to get Granite to accept responsibility for there error and they refuse to hel

My wife and I have met with Andrew and Craig at Granite Retirement a couple of time in regards to retirement strategiesI have no problem with Andrew or anything he discussed with us about retirementMy main issue is with Craig H***I sold a house that I had been renting for the past years on Dec 5th, I had some tax issues with the sale of this house and my failure to file my rental incomeI asked Craig about this and if he could amend my returns for meHe said he could and I entrusted him with several of my tax documentsOn 12/11/immediately after speaking with him I sent him an email with all of the things he requested of meI also called him and left him a voicemail and then subsequently a text messageHe never responded to anythingSeveral days went by and I again emailed him and sent him a text message asking if he was taking care of this issueAgain absolutely no responseIn fact in my initial

I did business with them because of the deal for those 55 and over. I had three W2s and Craig mentioned it. I asked specifically if it would be more and he said no. When I picked up my taxes it was $175, not $79 because of the extra W2s. Also, I was told I would be notified if my electronic filing was rejected. I had discussed already said that was a possibility and was assured I would be contacted in a few days so I could file a paper return. It was rejected and I was never notified. When I followed up, I mentioned the poor service and attitude of Craig one of the owners and he wrote me back saying I was rude to his staff and he refused to help in anyway because I did not want to work with the business. It was only him I did not want to work with because of his bait and switch and no follow through. I had discussed everything with him. Just because he forgot does not mean I should have to suffer financially. Not having my refund in a timely manner is a hardship. I was not rude to his staff, but I told him just how I felt about his service and was dismissed.
