The business did not provide an offer to resolve the matter as requested, so there is nothing for me to accept, ergo I am selecting the "I do not accept the response made by the business to resolve this complaint" I feel it is completely clear in my email communications with the business that I am not in the practice of purchasing goods and services or supporting merchants which have questionable business practices This business does not strive resolve issues timely as they stateIf you review the log I initially provided, the business owner was not willing to quickly come to my home to review the issues...this took several phone calls back and forth before Tim finally agreed to come to my home on the timeframe I requested (the same week the install occurred) I see the business states they make custom products which are not returnable for a refund; however, the product installation was shabby at best with multiple issues which I asked to be resolved and 20% of my money refunded as compensation for the shabby work, my dissatisfaction and my time of needing to accommodate repairs that would not have needed to be performed if the product was installed in a satisfactory mannerAdditionally, there was damage to my cabinets and a mess left behind from the installers for me to clean upIt is irrelevant if the product is custom made, I am not satisfied with the product installation or the service provided by this business and therefore I want the product removed from my home and all of my money refunded If the business would have agreed to resolving the issues and providing the partial refund of 20% when initially asked, rather than haggling with me for a week, I would have been a satisfied customer and this would have been resolved Please advise what the next steps are to get a resolution between me and the business? Even if you are not familiar with quartz as a name for this material, you may be familiar with its more prosaic name: engineered stone counters Quartz is a sexy word, as it implies luster, translucence, and hardness While quartz countertops do contain quartz, the term is more for marketing than anything else In simple terms, quartz counters are 93% made up of stone-like materials and 7% of binders that are either plastic-like (polymeric) or cement-basedOf those stone-like materials, quartz is only one of many substances According to countertop maker Breton, other materials include: granite, marble and natural stone in general, coming from either crushed waste stone left over in quarries, or recycled industrial wastes, such as fragments of ceramic, silica, glass, mirrors, etc These stone-like materials provide quartz counters with the hardness and lack of porosity needed for the heavy demands of cookingSome manufacturers also combine antibacterial substances This was explained to Mrs [redacted] , and she was informed her tops were in fact quartz, comprised of recycled glass, quartz, and resinHer countertops are in fact quartz, and she is incorrect in this case

As a part of our company policy, management will review each sales contractAfter review of the contract, we determined an error was made when totaling the jobWe tried to contact the customer for several weeks to discuss the math error made on the contractThe contract clearly shows the math error The total column did not include the cost of the shower door - $We absolutely believe this was not a “Bait and Switch”, just a math errorWe tried to work with the customer to come to a reasonable solutionHe was unwilling to discuss any compriseWe returned the full deposit and cancelled the contract We are not sure what the customer would like to disputeWe tried to discuss the issues and he was unwilling to discussNo work was performed and the full deposit was returned We have a copy of the contract that clearly shows the mistakePlease let us know if we should provide itWe will have access to the contract on Monday Please let us know if you have any questions Thank You,

To Whom It May Concern,On Sept 2nd 2016, Granite Transformations of Columbus installed a counter top in Mr***'s kitchen He had a few issues that he wanted addressed We immediately
sent out our operations manager/owner to his house to address the concerns Before we even had a chance to look at the counter top, Mr*** stated that this was going to work one of two ways We were either going to tear out the counter tops and give him a full refund or we were going to fix the issues and give him a 20% discount on the job You can see the emails that I have attached and see that we were initially unwilling to give Mr*** a 20% discount for his inconvenience as we are not required to do so We are only required to fix any issues in a timely mannerWe are able to address all of his concerns and feel that we handled the situation fairly If you look through the email threads you will see that we eventually agreed to give Mr*** the 20% off and fix the issues At this time(the last email) he stated that he DID NOT want us to do this even though he had originally said this was a solution He now wanted us to remove the counter tops and give a full refund We make a custom product and it is not returnable for a refund Keep in mind at the end of the dispute we agreed(against our better judgement of what was fair) to honor one of his initial requests Thank You Jason GrothjanPresidentGranite Transformations

Revdex.com made courtesy call to company requesting their written response to consumer complaint

Your workers did not put backsplash on the corner of the stove wall and in my contract says full new backsplash.  A: We installed full backsplash along both walls where the countertop was, as noted on the diagram and contract you viewed and signed. The backsplash was installed exactly per...

the contract you signed  and diagrams.   The finish under the island counter is very rough, and almost the same under the rest of  the counters. A: We would be happy to set a time, when Mrs. [redacted] will be present, to have an installer come out and smooth out the underfill.   The handle of the faucet falls so easily. A: Steve Z[redacted] fixed this issue when he was at the [redacted] residence on 5/24/17.   The new sink has a chip. A: This is the first we have been told of this issue since the install was completed on 5/3/17. When an installer comes out and smoothes out the underfill in the kitchen, we will be glad to have him take a look at the sink.   5. The door of the cabinet under the sink it hits the door of the cabinet where you are going to install the blind corner          cabinet, and according to Steve, the blind corner as it is does not fit in that place. A: We concur on this issue. The blind corner, lazy susan was an “add-on item”, that was discussed after her original contract signing. We have had issues in custom fabrication for the lazy susan blind corner. A stock item could not be used for this, and we have tried fabbing it per the customer requirements but have not been successful. We have attached a photo of a lazy susan that will work for this job. It is our only option. Although it is $400.00 more, we would be willing to install this lazy susan if the customer agrees to it, for no additional charge. PROVIDED SHE PAYS THE EXISTING BALANCE OF $1460.75 DUE US.   6.  Your workers damaged the wall corners, close to my front door; by the way, my jackets closet and the front door            they do not close like before the workers put my old  refrigerator in the garage and installed the new floor. A: Closet door / front door. We had to take the OLD  hardware and bifold door off to install the  new floor.  We reused your OLD hardware when the door was reinstalled. The front door frame was out of square when we started the job, and the hardware was old and loose “sloppy” fitting, having many years of wear and tear on it. Nothing we could have done would have caused it to work properly. It was that way when we started the job. The only way to correct is with new hardware, which was not in contract. If the customer would like to purchase new hardware, we could install it for her for a minor fee. We would also like to see photos substantiating these damage allegations, as we are dealing with older doors, hinges, trim etc. And wonder what portion of this damage was pre-existing.   7. My old refrigerator is in perfect condition, except that now is dented after Steve put it in my garage. A:Steve installed new appliances, and put the old ones in the garage. The old refrigerator had been in place for years,  and was jammed into the opening. It  took two people to get it out. Again, we would also like to see photos substantiating these damage allegations, as we are dealing with and older appliance,  and wonder what portion of this damage was pre-existing.     8. The trims of the walls they are not well painted. A:Baseboards? Trim?   We do not paint.  We deny this allegation. Neither Jose or Steve paint baseboards or trim on jobs. We make it a point to not include any painting on any of  our jobs, as we do not have professional painters on staff. We supplied you with “pre-primed” trim that you were going to have another contractor paint. These complaint needs to be readdressed to that contractor.   9  Your workers took my old sink, faucet and garbage disposal without authorization. A: Her old sink and faucet were heavily rusted and damaged. The faucet was so rusted it actually snapped and broke when the installer was taking it out. As she wanted to donate these and they were damaged and could not be reused, they were disposed of. The installer Jose, informed her of this verbally prior to disposal of the faucet and sink.   10.  Your workers kill part of my grass close to the garage, and let stains or paint on my drive way. A: We wholeheartedly deny this allegation. Neither Jose or Steve used any paint or did any painting on this job. We make it a point to not include any painting on any of  our jobs, as we do not have professional painters on staff. You may also refer to the contract for substantiation of this fact. There was some trim that we supplied “pre-primed” only, and Mrs. [redacted] was going to hire someone to paint it for her. Perhaps this complaint needs readdressed to those contractors.   11. Your workers let a lot of dirt in the air vents. A: As per the attached letter that all customers are mailed, they are pre-informed there will be dust and dirt. We did an entire kitchen remodel. “There will be some dust associated with your install. To minimize dust throughout your house, please turn off furnace/air conditioner and accompanying fan.” In addition, we would like to add that Steve Z[redacted] had issues with his router sticking to the tops of the cabinets due to all the grease residue. He estimated there was grease buildup  1/16” to 1/8”  thick, so naturally dust will adhere to these unclean, grease laden surfaces.   12. Your workers let nails in my garage and that damaged one of my car tires. A: We would like photos before and after the damage along with proof of these allegations please. Jose M[redacted], the floor and countertop installer, did NOT and does NOT use any nails in any of his processes in the kitchen. Not even the flooring, as we were laying customer provided tile that requires no nailing. We used a hammer to remove the baseboards, and set those in the garage, but they were reinstalled using the same nails. The nails were never removed from the baseboards in the garage. Steve Z[redacted], our cabinet installer does not use individual nails that can be left in a garage and cause puncture. He uses flat heat brad cabinet nails from a nail gun, and he was never using the nail gun in the garage.     13. We reinstalled recycled glass instead of Quartz. A:  This is totally erroneous, and she and I had this discussion over the phone. The definition of a quartz countertop is as follows, taken from the internet: Quartz countertops, once unknown, have developed a reputation over the last 50 years as a high-end surface material.  But the process of gaining respect has been slow.  Even today, quartz counters compete with solid surface (i.e., Corian) and natural stone for space in kitchens and baths. Bottom Line A hard, manmade countertop material used mainly inkitchensand bathrooms. An agglomerateof stone-like materials bound with resins and pressedinto sheets. Excels over natural stone because it needs no sealing. Its resins are the sealant. Few imperfections because its manufacture is controlled. Marquee brand names include Caesarstone,Cambria, and Silestone. Closest rival is amaterial called solid surface, as both employ stone-like materials. Not to beconfused with laminate, a material mainly composed of wood. Is It Really Made Of Quartz or What? Even if you are not familiar with quartz as a name for this material, you may be familiar with its more prosaic name:  engineered stone counters.   Quartz is a sexy word, as it implies luster, translucence, and hardness.  While quartz countertops do contain quartz, the term is more for marketing than anything else.   In simple terms, quartz counters are 93% made up of stone-like materials and 7% of binders that are either plastic-like (polymeric) or cement-based. Of those stone-like materials, quartz is only one of many substances.  According to countertop maker Breton, other materials include: granite, marble and natural stone in general, coming from either crushed waste stone left over in quarries, or recycled industrial wastes, such as fragments of ceramic, silica, glass, mirrors, etc.  These stone-like materials provide quartz counters with the hardness and lack of porosity needed for the heavy demands of cooking. Some manufacturers also combine antibacterial substances.   This was explained to Mrs. [redacted], and she was informed her tops were in fact quartz, comprised of recycled glass, quartz, and resin. Her countertops are in fact quartz, and she is incorrect in this case.

Consumers: be aware of people like the people who manage business like Granite Transformations in Ohio USA. Mr. Jose M[redacted], native of Brazil, was the worker from Granite Transformations (with his assistant) who most damage cause in my house (very unprofessional), but I understand until certain point his behavior, the week he was working in my kitchen he was very anxious to leave the job, he told my mother he was very happy to leave the company immediately he finished what he was doing in my house. That says a lot of Granite Transformations management. It is a shame Granite Transformations did not finish properly the job in my kitchen, but instead of have people from that company in my house, I prefer they leave the job as it is, and lost a big part of what I paid to them ($18,500.00). They overcharge me for reface my cabinets and counters, and install new floor that I bought separately. They are leaving me all the damage and unfinished job like not seal very well the counters and some parts of the floor, they did not install the Lazy Susan-half moon corner, took the shelf from that “Blind Corner” they were supposed to install the Lazy Susan, and they did not installed the door there either, and a handle on one of the drawers. They damaged my walls corners, let pieces of cement stuck on the floor, let big pieces of working materials on my air vents, white stains on my grass and driveway, scratch my new refrigerator and dent the old one, let nails on my garage and damaged one of my car tires, took without permission my old sink, faucet and disposer, and charge me twice one of my scheduled payments, etc., etc.In conclusion they did not honor the contract totally, but I do not want to talk with anybody from Granite Transformation anymore. Hopefully the cabinets and counters do not fall apart. Consumers: be aware of people like the people who manage business like Granite Transformations in Ohio USA.

The corner of the stove wall is part of the countertop. I want my backsplash there.2. Yes, I accept an installer come to my house and in my presence he smooth out the underfill of the island, the sink and the counters. By the way,  I just noticed  a open space between the floor and the cabinets. The installer needs to repair this also.3. Yes, Steve Z[redacted] fixed the handle of the faucet, but I am concerned that a new faucet already have that problem.4. Yes, I accept they install another model of the blind corner without additional charge.5. The workers damaged the wall corners and I need they repair that. About the hardware of my doors I would not let them to fix that because I am afraid they are going to do another sloppy job.6. TIM one of the managers agreed to pay $100 dollars for the dent Steve Z[redacted] did to my refrigerator. I do not understand why Beth H[redacted] treats me as a liar, and do not want to honor what Tim told me in person. The refrigerator have some marks because was in a narrow place, but I am showing the only dent it has after Steve Z[redacted] put it in my garage. See the attached pictures. 7. I did not understand the explanation over the phone of Beth H[redacted] about the quartz countertops, but still I think that Granite Transformations brochure is confusing because it has a list of materials for the counters, and one of them is quartz and another is recycled glass. I have cleaned it and cut my grass several times  but still they are visible. See the attached pictures 10. My car tire was damaged with a nail from my old wall kitchen trims, that the workers let on the garage floor. I took the car to the repair shop immediately I noticed the left front tire was almost flat. I have just the receipt from the repair shop. 11. I know is normal all the dust from the construction, but what bother me is the big pieces of the materials they use for install the new floor in the air vents. By the way,  I never received the welcome letter Beth H[redacted] said they mailed.I think all these troubles and "sloppy" job deserve a repair and a discount. I also hope really all the materials be Lifetime Warranty as they advertise and I need my warranty in writing.Thank you very much for your attention in this matter.Respectfully,[redacted]

First and foremost, it is the policyof Granite Transformations to ensure equal employment opportunity,  as well as  service to all customers,  without discriminationor harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.As a matter of fact, the lead installer for Mrs. [redacted]’s job was Jose M[redacted], who is a native of Brazil and speaks fluent Spanish. We believe this proves that Mrs. [redacted] is trying to use racism against us in this matter. At this point, we would like to accept Mrs. [redacted]s’ first offer:We will release her from all claims for funds due and owed to Granite Transformation for her counter and cabinet jobs #4722 and #4723 and consider her account paid in full.In turn, we will consider the job completed as is, with NO further work to completed/performed at Mrs. [redacted]s’ residence on either job she contracted  us for.Although Mrs. [redacted] was provided with a copy of the Warranty at installation, it is available 24/7 on the Granite Transformations at the following link:[redacted]

The business did not provide an offer to resolve the matter as requested, so there is nothing for me to accept, ergo I am selecting the "I do not accept the response made by the business to resolve this complaint"
I feel it is completely clear in my email communications with the business that I am not in the practice of purchasing goods and services or supporting merchants which have questionable business practices.
This business does not strive resolve issues timely as they state. If you review the log I initially provided, the business owner was not willing to quickly come to my home to review the issues...this took several phone calls back and forth before Tim finally agreed to come to my home on the timeframe I requested (the same week the install occurred).
I see the business states they make custom products which are not returnable for a refund; however, the product installation was shabby at best with multiple issues which I asked to be resolved and 20% of my money refunded as compensation for the shabby work, my dissatisfaction and my time of needing to accommodate repairs that would not have needed to be performed if the product was installed in a satisfactory manner. Additionally, there was damage to my cabinets and a mess left behind from the installers for me to clean up. It is irrelevant if the product is custom made, I am not satisfied with the product installation or the service provided by this business and therefore I want the product removed from my home and all of my money refunded.
If the business would have agreed to resolving the issues and providing the partial refund of 20% when initially asked, rather than haggling with me for a week, I would have been a satisfied customer and this would have been resolved.
Please advise what the next steps are to get a resolution between me and the business?

As a part of our company policy, management will review each
sales contract. After review of the contract, we determined an error was made
when totaling the job. We tried to contact the customer for several weeks to discuss
the math error made on the contract. The contract clearly shows the math...

error.
The total column did not include the cost of the shower door - $1775. We absolutely
believe this was not a “Bait and Switch”, just a math error. We tried to work
with the customer to come to a reasonable solution. He was unwilling to discuss
any comprise. We returned the full deposit and cancelled the contract.
We are not sure what the customer would like to dispute. We
tried to discuss the issues and he was unwilling to discuss. No work was
performed and the full deposit was returned.
We have a copy of the contract that clearly shows the
mistake. Please let us know if we should provide it. We will have access to the
contract on Monday.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
