We received a call from the [redacted] to come and spray for
roaches. On June 23, 2014 we went to their home and sprayed to exterminate
roaches from their home. We informed them at that time sometimes we have to
come back a second time to eliminate them and there would be no charge...

after
the initial spray.
We did not hear from them again until July 4, 2014; in which
[redacted] left a message as our office was closed for the holiday weekend and we
were out of town.
I returned [redacted] call on late Sunday, July 6, 2014
after returning from out of town. [redacted] was very irate and said he had been
up two nights cleaning and “battling” roaches and wanted his $90.00 returned. I
reminded him that we told him if he saw more after our spray, we would return
and spray at no additional charge. He was very irate and cussed at me and used
very foul language and said he just wanted his money back. I told him we don’t
operate like that we would be glad to come back and spray at no additional charge.
He stated no, he just wanted his money back and hung up.
I have not heard from hi since and then received this
complaint.
I will not return or send any of m technicians back after
the irate, rude telephone conversation I had with him.
I hope this explains the situation we have experienced with
the [redacted] and please advise if anything further is needed.
Thank you,
[redacted]

Re Revdex.com case # [redacted]-Grants Home Services
This is in response to a letter I received from you dated January 27, 2014 regarding the above case #[redacted].
I...

received a call from [redacted] stating she had found termite damage in her living room on the baseboard at property located at:
[redacted]
We found damage in the living room on the baseboard. We went into the crawlspace and found termite tubes on foundation walls. At that time, we informed [redacted] that she had termites. We informed [redacted] that we could perform a Termite Treatment on August 24, 2010. I also remember we had a conversation in which I informed her that “what is behind the wall cannot be seen.”
We performed a Termite Treatment in which we trenched inside and outside the crawlspace using a chemical called [redacted]which is a bait type of chemical that the termites eat and take back to the colony.
We were called back at a later date (don’t recall exact date). When we returned to the property, we found termite tubes in the garage which we spot treated in various areas.
We received a call to return sometime on October, 2013 and returned on October 22, 2013. We found that all the sheetrock in the dining room on the garage side was found soft. There was damage to wall studs in several areas. I found no active termites. I treated by drilling the entire garage.
At this time I informed [redacted] to contact my insurance Company to try to make a claim from assistance. I also informed her that it was unlikely my insurance company would cover the damage as my warranty clearly states “not responsible for any damage”. The reason this is stated on warranty is from my protection as I cannot see what previous or existing damage exists behind sheetrock, etc. I know [redacted] knows what damage already existed as it the damaged baseboard she referred to when she initially called my company.
I hope this clears up any misunderstand or miscommunication in this matter and if anything further is needed please advise.
Thank you!

Grant Home Services Termite and Pest Control

Review: On August 24, 2010 I hired [redacted] Home Services to treat my home for termites. We found a 2'x 2'area in our dining room that had evidence of termites. My home was trenched on the exterior perimeter on my home, and under the house in the crawlspace. At the time, the garage had not been included in this initial treatment. A short period of time later, I found evidence of termites in my garage. They came back out and drilled the cinder blocks on each side of the interior of the garage, and the first couple feet of the left side of the back side of the garage that buts up to my kitchen area. [redacted] Home Services returned on 8/9/11, 8/6/12, and again on 7/26/13 to perform an annual visual inspection of my home. On each occasion, I was not made aware of the day or time at which they were coming, therefore I was not home during the inspections. The garage area and the interior of the home were not included in these visual inspections. With each inspection my home was deemed free of termites. I do not recall the time frame, but at some point I was concerned with "swarming" termites around my house. [redacted] came out and sprayed to be on the safe side. On October 22, 2013, I contacted [redacted] to schedule repairs on the original damage to the dining room wall and baseboard. While removing pictures off the wall in preparation to paint after the repairs were made, I noticed a soft spot just below the crown molding. I got on a chair and stuck my finger right through it. I started peeling the paint back and found termite trails. I pulled a little more back and saw the termites. I called [redacted] back and let him know that it may be a little more work than previously thought. I also called [redacted] to let him know what was going on. He agreed to come out Thursday morning, same time as [redacted]. Wednesday, I moved a tall cabinet off the wall in the dining room. I could already see the baseboard was sunk in with severe damage. Thursday October 24th, [redacted] sent one of his employees over.Desired Settlement: The estimated damage to the dining room is $4532. This could be slightly higher, because a floor joist has to be repaired and a portion of the ceiling has to be replaced. Our contractor cut the ceiling to determine if the termites had done any further damage. The adjuster did not account for those things. I also need to be reimbursed the current balance of $840 for a [redacted] we have to store all our stuff in. I also need another extermination company to come and inspect and retreat my house.

Re Revdex.com case # [redacted]-Grants Home Services

This is in response to a letter I received from you dated January 27, 2014 regarding the above case #[redacted].

I received a call from [redacted] stating she had found termite damage in her living room on the baseboard at property located at:

We were called back at a later date (don’t recall exact date). When we returned to the property, we found termite tubes in the garage which we spot treated in various areas.

We received a call to return sometime on October, 2013 and returned on October 22, 2013. We found that all the sheetrock in the dining room on the garage side was found soft. There was damage to wall studs in several areas. I found no active termites. I treated by drilling the entire garage.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

[redacted] is still not claiming any responsibility for his improper treatment of my home. I would not have called him had there not been live termites in my wall. We would not be having this dispute. The original damage from 2010 was and is my responsibility. I have never questioned that. When you have paid a professional to treat your home for termites, and you have paid him every year since to inspect your home for termites, one would assume their home to be free of termites. A professional should stand by their work. When a mistake like this is made, they should be held responsible.

[redacted]s insurance is under the mistaken impression that he is not responsible and that we caused further damage to our home by not repairing the sheetrock damage from 2010. This was a cosmetic issue inly. If the termites had been destroyed, no further damage would have occurred, period. I'm not sure why he or his insurance company cannot understand this. I'm very fortunate that we found out the termites were still in our home when we did. Who knows how many years we would have continued to think our home was free of these pests. It concerns me that he has treated other homes and inpects people's homes. I hope no one else has been the victim of his poor business practices and incompetent treatments and inspections. We will continue to pursue all our legal options.

Regards,

Review: We called Grants Home Services to come over and spray for an issue we were having with roaches. The date of service was June 23, 2014, and as of July 4, 2014, almost 2 weeks later we were still seeing roaches in our home. The gentleman that came to spray told me that the solution they sprayed would kill all of the roaches and their egg sacks, and the roaches would be gone from our home. However, that was not the case, because two weeks later we still had roaches, so on July 4, 2014, my husband called Grants Home Services back, and since no one answered, he left a message about the roaches still being in our home. We did not receive a return call from Grants Home Services until Sunday afternoon, July 6, 2014. In the meantime, while we were waiting for a call back we had to go and spend additional money at [redacted] for chemicals and traps to try and get rid of the roaches ourselves. This is something that we shouldn't have had to do....especially since we paid Grants Home Services paid $90.00 and they guaranteed that the spray they used would kill the roaches. When we finally received the call back from Grants Home Services, we asked them for a refund of the $90.00 that we paid to them when they came over and sprayed on June 23, 2014. The [redacted] told my husband they did not work that way, and refused to give us our money back.Desired Settlement: My husband and I would like a refund of our $90.00.

Two weeks is ample time for the roaches to be gone from our home, and since they were not and we had to go and spend additional money at Lowe's on top of the $90.00 we had already paid to Grants Home Services to take care of the issue, the least they can do is give us a refund.
