Grapevine Motors Reviews (10)

I reject this response due to the fact that the issue that made the vehicle unsafe happened before I took it to the mechanic to get it fixed A check engine light could stay off a few days when turned off so as to not indicate a problem until the car was purchased Indicating I got bad gas did not sound like [redacted] was willing to do anything for meEven at this point I would expect an A plus rated company with plus years experience would do something to make this rightI wish I had read all of the reviews for Grapevine Motors before purchasing a vehicle If you can sleep at night knowing that we have a vehicle that we can not trust, then so be itI really don't expect you to do the Christian thing which would be make it right! If not, I will be sure to post any where I can find and tell all my coworkers and friends my experience at Grapevine Motors

I am afraid of this truck I can't drive it or have my daughter and grandbabies be in it for fear of it dying or reducing power while driving The only solution would be a refund If it is such a great vehicle, you could resell it

This does not resolve my dispute [redacted] you handled this wrong! Your first response should not have been that I got bad gas I am sure the check engine light was reset so that a problem would be undetected until it was too late to return the vehicle After reading other reviews of your business, I see what a racket you have going You sell a vehicle and a week or two later something goes wrong, and you fix it getting even more money Standing up for my family is the Christian thing to do Being unethical is NOT So I hope you sleep well at night knowing that my family doesn't have a safe vehicle and no other money to buy another one Also, I never threatened youI just made promises that I will keepHave a good day!

And this is the exact response I would expect from you. I told you to bring the vehicle to me and I would check it. We had and abundance of rain this summer and your problem did sound like bad gas. You never brought me the car to check but chose to take it to your own mechanic twice, and he did a pre purchase inspection during the three days you had posession of the vehicle. When you had a complaint, the cd player, I jumped right on it and replaced it. when you called me about the running issue, I said get it to me. You chose to have your mechanic repair it. You obviously have NOT read my online reviews as they are excellant for 20 years with the exception of bogus disgruntled finance customers that we reposessed for non payment...... Now you are Threatening me (blackmail) to do something or you will ruin my reputation. Who is the Christian? You still have not asked me to fix the problem,. You said you didn't trust me to fix it or even swap it out with another vehicle. Just more threats and complaints. Did you write this same complaint about your mechanic that couldn't fix it?????       Since I am being blackmailed to fix a problem I know nothing about, I will give you 1 chance to bring it to me, bring the receipts for what parts your mechanic has thrown at it and I will fix it right... I am not wrong here and you know I said bring it in but you couldn't, and now 4 months later I get this threatening complaint. Do not question my Christianity as I have not questioned yours for your tactics and I'm willing to do the right thing if you have the ability to admit that I am not in the wrong and bring your car in.... With that said, I have no mechanic but myself, I am aware another mechanic charged you and tried to fix it so I will be very precise about the repair and I will not just throw parts at it so it could take a week or two to sort it out. The balls in your court...

This does not resolve my dispute.  [redacted] you handled this wrong!  Your first response should not have been that I got bad gas.  I am sure the check engine light was reset so that a  problem would be undetected until it was too late to return the vehicle.  After reading other reviews of your business, I see what a racket you have going.  You sell a vehicle and a week or two later something goes wrong, and you fix it getting even more money.  Standing up for my family is the Christian thing to do.  Being unethical is NOT.  So I hope you sleep well at night knowing that my family doesn't have a safe vehicle and no other money to buy another one.  Also, I never threatened you. I just made promises that I will keep. Have a good day!

The customer purchased a good vehicle and had one complaint, The CD player didn't work. So I replaced it with a stereo from another Suburban on my lot. Then had to spend $150 to get my other stereo to work, A couple weeks later I did get a call about a running issue and told her I could not diagnose...

it over the phone but to get it to me and I would check it. She customer drove the Suburban for days before actually purchasing, took it to get inspected by HER mechanic before purchasing with no complaints. If I had messed with the check engine light, which I would never do as I am a mechanic, the light would have came on long before she purchased it and with 20 years in this industry, I know better. As far as her mechanic saying I messed with the light....... Is this the mechanic that charged her $520.00 and another $200.00 when that didn't fix it and it's still not fixed???? Sounds like her issue needs to be with her mechanic, not me. I was never again contacted or given a chance to look at it, only to fix the stereo. I am not a psychic, She bought a good vehicle that had an unfortunate issue and I would have been glad to repair. My reputation is near flawless but if I am not given an opportunity to help, then that's not my fault. I still don't know what the mechanic replaced the first or second [redacted]e to the shop??? This customer handled this whole situation wrongly and is wrongly trying to discredit my reputation. I do not use a Christian radio station to camouflage my business but have it playing to keep me and the atmosphere calm and on the right track... I'm sorry for her trouble but there is nothing I can do considering the course of action she has already taken and the fact that someone else (her mechanic) has now messed it up to the point she feels it's UNSAFE to drive!

The Facts of this sale are the vehicle was purchased 02/28/2017 for $2,283.62 plus TTL. The vehicle per the State of Texas state inspection certificate shows 195863 miles. A few weeks after the purchase we were notified of an issue with the transmission and the fact that Mr. [redacted] had found "hose...

clamps" on the transmission cooler lines. I know nothing about any clamps but told the customer to bring it in and we could look at it. That is all. 2 more weeks went by with numerous phone calls and we finally got Mr. [redacted] to bring it in. I hooked the scanner up and it showed to have a transmission solenoid code so we installed a can of SeaFoam transmission additive to hopefully clean a sticky solenoid. Mr. [redacted] advised me he had already flushed the transmission so I did all I could do. I test drove before and after adding the additive and it never once acted up on me. The code did not reappear on the second drive so we advised that we saw no issue but if the issue continued, the would likely be a transmission rebuild in his future.    Two more weeks go by and I get a phone call that the transmission "went out" and that it was going to cost $3500.00 to rebuild would I like to pay for it. I did laugh as that is a crazy amount of money to put into a $2200 vehicle with 200k miles. I was quickly threatened that I would see him in court and that is where I had to cut off any further communication... I did look online and a used transmission costs $300-$400 dollars and about $300 labor to install. I never had the opportunity to offer assistance because of the threat of a court visit and obviously there would not have been any money I would have put into it but I certainly would have got him the best deal as I would do and have done for any of my customers in my 20 years in business in Grapevine! I'm sorry that the Montero was not perfect and did not give you another 200k of worry free miles.

I am afraid of this truck.  I can't drive it or have my daughter and grandbabies be in it for fear of it dying or reducing power while driving.   The only solution would be a refund.  If it is such a great vehicle, you could resell it.

If the only thing that is going to make you happy is to refund your purchase, considering the circumstances, I will have to decline and accept that out of 5,767 sales,  you will be one of a few customers that is not reasonable enough for me to try to make happy. I fully expect you to slander my good name to everyone you know, just like you threatened to do in the beginning of this complaint. And that mam, is the reason I will not buy your car back. You handled this wrong from the get go and I have made a reasonable offer that any other used car purchaser  would be highly appreciative of. Thank You and Good Day!

I reject this response due to the fact that the issue that made the vehicle unsafe happened before I took it to the mechanic to get it fixed.  A check engine light could stay off a few days when turned off so as to not indicate a problem until the car was purchased.  Indicating I got bad gas did not sound like [redacted] was willing to do anything for me. Even at this point I would expect an A plus rated company with 20 plus years experience would do something to make this right. I wish I had read all of the reviews for Grapevine Motors before purchasing a vehicle.  If you can sleep at night knowing that we have a vehicle that we can not trust, then so be it. I really don't expect you to do the Christian thing which would be make it right!
