Grass Valley Veterinary Hospital, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: I boarded my dog Buddy at the Grass Valley Veterinary Hospital and gave them a list of all of his current medical information, including all of his current vaccinations. I signed a document confirming that he would only be boarded and not receive any medical treatment while at the Grass Valley Veterinary Hospital. Dr. [redacted], the owner and a vet there, ignored the documents concerning his vaccination history and decided that it was a good idea to give him a second dose of all canine vaccines, draw his blood, have lab work done, and give him a full exam. Keep in mind Dr. [redacted] had paperwork stating that Buddy had already received all of this treatment 2 weeks prior, from a different veterinary clinic. When I went to take Buddy home, I was informed of all of the treatment that Buddy had received from Dr. [redacted] and I was shocked. When I confronted Dr. [redacted] about the issue he would not listen to my concerns and stated quote that "he was the medicine" insinuating that I had no idea what I was talking about. When shown the signed document stating that Buddy was only to be boarded, Dr. [redacted] went away and would not talk to me any further. Is that how you treat someone who you have just endangered the health of their animal when it was your job and responsibility to care for the animal's health and well being? When I asked about health issues that Buddy might have because of the extra vaccines, Dr. [redacted] would not talk to me, and the receptionist had to talk to a different vet to get answers. He was unprofessional, rude, belittling, condescending and the worst "professional" I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Doubling up an animal's vaccines can compromise their immune system along with other health issues. Needless to say, I will never be a customer of Grass Valley Veterinary Hospital, something Dr. [redacted] may be alright with, but I wanted to express my bad experience and displeasure.Desired Settlement: An apology would be a kind gesture, but not expected or necessary.

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted]:

I want to apologize for our error while Buddy was boarding with us. I understand your concern about Buddy getting extra vaccines. Luckily with these vaccines pose no risk to his health. The miscommunication amongst our staff has been addressed. Although our client complaints are never easy to hear, I welcome your feedback. We strive to provide the highest level of care possible and I am saddened to say this did not happen with Buddy.

As a good faith gesture we will not charge you for his 4 nights of boarding. I do understand that you have lost confidence in our level of service and I will use this situation as a training and learning opportunity so that this does not happen again.

Best Regards,

Office Manager
