As I stated previously, WD G*** only response to me was
that they are not responsible. Prior to
their coming out to repair my toilet, it was not leaking. The only problem I had with the toilet was
that water was continually running within the tank. After they fixed the toilet, a leak developed
externally and the location of the leak was where a part had been replaced by
them. No other toilet in my house
spontaneously sprung a leak. When the
contractor came back to the house, they said my supply line had a leak in it
and they replaced the supply line. Prior
to them fixing my toilet there was nothing wrong with my supply line. I kept the supply line for evidence. I filed a complaint with their insurance company. The insurance company never visited my
property nor did they ask to check the supply line. My property sustained damage to the
downstairs ceiling and the wood floors.
My ability to sale my property has been hindered by this damage. I never received an official response from
their insurance company regarding my claim.
Since WD G*** will not accept responsibility via this process, I will
have to pursue other means to address the problem

This company told me I would need $2000 worth of work to resolve a clogged waste drain in my basement. I called another plumber who unclogged it for $205. in 7 minutes worth of work. I was told by the first plumber that there was no product or snake that could clear the drain and it would have to be jack hammered up from the concrete. I think I was deliberately misled (I'm an older, single, female) in order for them to perform work that was unnecessary and charge an outrageous price.

This customers recollection is not quite accurate. Our plumbing technician retrieved paper towels and baby wipes from the sewer drain. When she called back after the second clog, Lisa asked her if she was still flushing baby wipes and paper towels down the toilet. She said her family living there...

were doing it, and though she told them not to, they wouldn't stop flushing them down the toilet. She asked Lisa if there was anything else we could do. Lisa asked her if she would like us to camera the drain to see if the debris was catching on something. She declined. When we returned, Our plumbing technician retrieved another wad of paper towels and baby wipes. When he showed them to her she paid the fee. We guarantee snake jobs for 24 hours for this very reason. We have retrieved toys from the same toilet on 3 different occasions at one home.  It is not that our plumbing method is ineffective, it's that when someone is placing the wrong stuff in a toilet, they often continue that behavior until they learn better or outgrow the bad habit.WD Graves Plumbing

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Where to start.....hmmm . First off, almost everything in Mr. Graves response was an out right lie.
This seems to be a reoccurring  issue with this company and why I initial filed a complaint with [redacted] and with the Revdex.com. Everyone of the pictures was taken AFTER the plumber CJ left and returned when I called him upset about the broken tiles, not before he worked on the home. Very easy to look on the plumbers phone for dates and time the pictures were taken. I am sure Mr. Graves doesn't know about this technology. Mr. Graves was never there and didn't see anything firsthand. He didn't even bother to call me until a month later and screamed and yelled at me that he was going to sue me. Nothing about trying to fix the wrong that was done. His wife called me again the next day after I had sent an email to the company and again screamed and yelled. I have that one on voicemail if you would like to hear it.
I have had an account with [redacted] for well over 10 years and can get the proof if you would like. I have had the account so long it was in my previous name before I remarried. The account is listed as [redacted]. In 2006, I remarried and my name is now [redacted] The addresses match.  Every year the contract is renewed in August. Hope that clears up any misunderstanding. I also have another [redacted] account on another property also well over 10 years. How and why Mr. graves would allude that I fraudulently made claims as two different people and lied about my name are totally false.
First off, this company WD Graves came out to my rental in January 2014. My daughter was there to meet them and was charged. I have her charge statement showing this company was there. Mr. graves said they were not there and did no work on this day. Not true. They were to fix the upstairs master toilet. Obviously, it was not fixed because it continued to leak. I will try to include a picture of her statement. If not, I can email it in a separate email. In Mr. Graves response he said he could not make an appointment. Not the truth.
The house was empty of any valuables when WD Graves plumber, CJ came. When I made the appointment with [redacted] I requested to have another plumbing company besides The company that was there previously which was WDGraves. How they intercepted the dispatch I do not know. [redacted] has it in their records. I was putting the house on the market so I went through and showed him what needed to be fixed. The dispatch list shows the kitchen facet, 3 toilets, the u pipe under the master sink and the leak from the blue bathroom tub. Never was anything refused like Mr. Graves alleges. Look at the dispatch and look at what WDGraves charged [redacted] for. They charged for everything that was asked for. Another lie by Mr. Graves.
The plumber, CJ was to come back the next day to repair the items listed. I gave him the code to the lockbox on the door to get in and do the repairs. I was not there as I live 45 miles away. When CJ left he left a message on my cell phone, he neglected to mention that he punched the facet fixtures from behind and broke four tiles in the process. See the picture Mr. Graves sent in. Thank you, Mr. Graves! :) the pic was taken after he put on the new fixtures. Mt. Graves claim that the tiles were all broken and calked and are 3 different colors are clearly discounted in his own picture. There were two tiles that were replaced by a professional tile company in 2011. Two. The blue tile is not readily available since it is from the early 70's so I agreed to the white. Every other tile was fine until CJ punched the old facet out breaking the tiles. Again, he did NOT mention this in his phone call message which I have. My real estate agent, Erin Jones can attest to the tiles being perfect before CJ got a hold of the fixtures.
As far, as filthy and disgusting....don't think the pics show this at all. The dirt in the tub in the yellow tub was done by CJ. I imagine when he changed the u-pipe under the sink. It was not there previously. No big deal. It was grit and washed right down the drain. As far as there being no toilet seat, I took it off because it was an old oak one and I was replacing it with a white one. The door to the vanity was not off the vanity at all. The bottom of the drawer of the vanity not sure who or how it happened. So what that there were clean q-tips and cotton balls in a drawer.
WD Graves also charged [redacted] a lot of $$$ for rebuilding the toilets. The toilets were NOT rebuilt. I had the handyman fix them as well. He will testify to this as well.
I received 3 full price offered the first weekend the property was listed. The one I accepted backed out and I accepted another offer at $10,000 over the listed price. That is the reason for the "indecisiveness", Mr. Graves. The house looks amazing! for Mr. graves to call me and tell me the house was disgusting and a piece of "[redacted]" was untrue and very unprofessional as well. At no time was there difficulty in setting up an appointment as Mr. graves alleges. When I called [redacted] to report the problem they offered to have another company come out to look at the toilets and at the time I said I would like another company to come. They called me 3 times but I had the handyman fix the issues. I had a handyman there already and he fixed the toilets for me as well as the tile work so no need for any other plumber to come. Hope that explains the issue.
Right off the bat, when I made a complaint, CJ denied he broke the tiles. This is why I am making this complaint. Totally untrue! No apology. No explanation. nothing. Lies. Lie on top of lies. I had a handyman who was installing a tile backsplash in the kitchen do the repairs to the tub. It cost me under $60. Nothing. Why this company did this and then denied it is not the sign of a reputable company and I feel strongly I needed to warn others of their behavior. This is the first time I can remember making a complaint like this. All they had to do was inform me of the issue then fix it. I would have even paid the extra cost for the tile repair. To deny and lie about it...I have no words. Then for the owner of the company and then his wife to call me and scream and yell that I was a liar and he was going to sue me. Again, I feel strongly that I had to warn other people of these unprofessional actions.
I do have copies of all relevant information and voice mails to prove my claim.

Review: When in my rental home to do plumbing repairs, wed graves plumbing broke and ripped two tiles in the bathtub. Did not mention this to me upon leaving. I have the phone message. They admitted to breaking the tiles to me but then when talking to the contractor, [redacted] denied doing this and said it was like that when they got there. Totally NOT true. To do something like this without fixing it is destruction of my property. When I called them about this problem CJ hung up on me twice. All I wanted was the tiles fixed and replaced. Horrible way to treat any customer and to lie about this is not ethical business practice.Desired Settlement: I want this on record for any other customer to read. They are scam artist. I would ideally like them to pay for the damage done.

Response:

July 9, 2014Dear [redacted], The following is my response to the complaint filed by [redacted] on or about May 1, 2014:W. D. Graves Plumbing, Inc. received a dispatch from [redacted], a home warranty company, for a [redacted] at [redacted] VA [redacted]. The dispatch was received on JANUARY 16, 2014. From the dispatch, it was noted this customer had purchased the Warranty Service on August 27, 2013, just less than 5 months earlier. Our obligation and good standing with [redacted] requires us to respond to a claim with—in 24 hours, however, this customer was non responsive after initiating the claim. The customer finally responded to our outreach to service the claim 4/28/2014, over 3 months after the “emergency claim” was initiated.Upon arriving at the address, we were told that [redacted] was in fact a tenant, renting the home from the owner, [redacted], who was there to meet us. We were confused because the claim listed [redacted] as the “buyer” (owner). Every other dispatch we have ever received clearly differentiates between the owners name and contact info and the tenants name and contact info.We further discovered that the rental property was in a state of total neglect and disrepair. One of the toilets to be serviced had no toilet seat whatsoever. Certain parts to the toilet were found in a vanity drawer, Another drawer in that vanity was missing the drawer bottom. The door to the vanity was lying on the floor beside the toilet. The shower valve to be serviced was on a tiled tub surround that had a patchwork of 3 different colored replacement tiles with many of the tiles caulked together because they had been broken and caulked back together over the years. The tub bottom was black with filth. A sink drain in another bathroom was rusted all the way through and the sink cabinet bottom was rotted away. Water from a leak was coming thru a ceiling, etc.We did our best to service the fixtures, but many were so neglected most of the claims were denied due to “negligence and abuse”. The broken tiles this customer is referring to in her complaint clearly show caulk residue. The tile pieces missing were caulked to the old valve trims, and thus became separated when we removed the old shower valve. From the patchwork of repairs, split tiles, caulked tiles, different colored tiles, and remnants of caulk at areas around shower valve trims it is apparent these problems were pre-existing and numerous. We still called the warranty company at the customer’s request and attempted to get replacement coverage for the tile. The request was denied by the warranty company. It appears the entire warranty application was fraudulent, as [redacted] purchased the warranty as a new “buyer”, using the name of [redacted], the last name of the tenant, [redacted]. However, she signed the Service ticket as [redacted], an obvious mistake, as she was present for the repairs, attesting to the fact she was looking to get all the old and neglected fixtures repaired or replaced for the cost of a few months home warranty payments, a savings of thousands of dollars.I am including; 1. photos of the fixtures our technician took as evidence for the warranty company, 2. the original dispatch ticket, with [redacted]’s name, as “Buyer” and the home and cell telephone numbers listed as hers, both with Stafford VA Area Codes, and both belonging not to [redacted] but to [redacted], and with [redacted] listed as a secondary contact, 3, the service ticket, signed by [redacted], the “complainant”, and true owner, 4, a copy of a listing Service, showing that on May 15, 2014, just days after the failed attempt to get the plumbing fixed for virtually nothing, the property at 7765 Euclid Way was “Listed” for sale.My corporate attorney is in the process of preparing a lawsuit against [redacted] for damages due to her malicious, and fraudulent, slander. Unfortunately, she will probably be ruled incompetent, as only someone lacking certain facilities would participate in such a scam, and then open themselves up to discovery by striking out and drawing attention to the entire crime.I am requesting that this fraudulent and fictitious complaint be removed from our public record forthwith.Sincerely,Warren *. G[redacted]President Graves Design & Remodeling, Inc. W. D. Graves Plumbing, Inc.
