Gravitt's Plumbing Reviews (1)

[redacted]s Plumbing was hired by Texas pools and patios to pull a child permit which is required by the City of Austin for all Swimming Pool permits upon this service City of Austin recognizes [redacted]s Plumbing as the Licensed Plumber to perform any Gas Plumbing associated with the Swimming Pool....

Texas Pools and Patios was Contracted to build Mr. [redacted] a Pool Spa Combo which includes a Gas fired Heater, the superintendent with TPP contacted us when he was ready for the Gas line run to heater and we were told that the Gas line install was to be paid for by Mr. [redacted]. Our first visit to the home of Mr. [redacted] figured an estimate and before any work was performed [redacted] met with Mr. [redacted]  and gave him the quote of 500.00 and Mr. [redacted] gave a verbal agreement to the amount so [redacted] proceeded to install he gas line to Swimming Pool heater. After t he installation was completed and the Gas line inspected by the City of Austin and Passed (rough inspection) [redacted] presented an invoice for 500.00to Mr. [redacted] and his reply was let me call TPP so [redacted] waited as he made his call shortly after We receive a call from TPP that they would pay 1/2 of the 500.00 So Mr. [redacted] wrote us a check for 250.00 , this fulfilled the Pool heater gas line installation. No invoice was given to Mr. [redacted] at the time because the service was not paid for in full at time.We were by Texas Pools and patios to Perform a House test which is required by the city of Austin and which TPP agreed to payso [redacted] returned to Mr. [redacted]s home to perform the house test and upon shutting all valves off [redacted] found that the Kitchen stove had no gas valve, gas valves are required for all appliances and no city of Austin inspector would have passed this install.  Mr. [redacted] had informed [redacted] at this time that when he purchased the house there was a problem pending with the City of Austin work was performed without a permit (Furnace had been relocated and gas line altered) so [redacted] installed a gas behind the stove and performed House test using Gene Rich Specialty class A1 diaphragm gauge Certified on 10/07/2015 Expiration 10/6/2016 Tech #14 Certification #[redacted] Asset#[redacted] Certified per ASME B40.1 Specifications. "NO FAULTY VALVE USED" Test failed and would not hold pressure [redacted] showed Mr. [redacted] that pressure would not hold ( AIR TEST ) So [redacted] proceeded to locate Leak using Diversitech Product "PRO BUBBLES 32" Spray Leak detector after finding no leaks [redacted] switched gauge with a Brand New gauge which is currently on another job holding pressure so numbers are not available at this time Presure continued to not hold not able to test gas line in attic because they were not accessible so [redacted] had to cut holes in ceiling to check for leaks, still found no Leaks, so [redacted] removed Air test , connected gas meter, opened valves and turned gas back on and tested with a combustible gas detector  (INFICON GAS-MATE) and still found no leaks. [redacted] suggested that he disconnect the old gas line that went to the previous furnace location it was no longer being used an had no access to it so Mr. [redacted] agreed. Performed test with gas again and found no leaks so the [redacted] disconnected the Gas Meter and shut all valves inside the house and performed pressure test with air again, this time it held Mr. [redacted] then accused [redacted] for using faulty equipment so [redacted] change the gauge in front of Mr. [redacted] and showed him the pressure gauge used was not faulty, Mr. [redacted] saw this with his own eyes. With pressure holding we called for inspection with city of Austin and at this time Mr. [redacted] is telling [redacted] how he's not going to pay and that he wants us to repair the sheetrock Mr. [redacted] also blamed TPP for gas leak because they made him buy a Spa and he would not have needed gas if it wasn't for the spa he also stated ignorance is bliss. After inspection passed knowing he is not going to pay for services rendered Job went back to Mr. [redacted] home and completed the Job leaving with a safe house.During this Fiasco [redacted] had been in contact with [redacted] ( STATE BOARD OF PLUMBING EXAMINERS) He Says we did every by the book !
