I have been a GRC client from December of 2009. They installed a brand new heat/AC unit for $5300.
However, I was pretty unlucky with this unit from the beginning.
I had to change the compressor early on and then due to constant issues in November 2014 it stopped working completely. This was due to a Freon leak. Then in February the same Freon issue occurs.
Over that five year period of time I spent over $1900 to fix the problems and they would always charge me full price without any discounts.
GRC suggested we buy a new unit as this one is in constant state of repairs.
While this made sense to me I was hopeful that they would help out with a new unit price.
They told me a new unit will cost $5300 with installation.
I tried to explain to them that this was too much money especially for a customer who's been their client for over 6 years and spent over $7000 during the duration.
They then came back with a price of $5100 and told me that "We are not making any cents on you" which just drove me crazy.
I called different companies to find a better quote and the price from the start with other vendors was already far lower at $4600.
When I checked the price for just the unit, it was listed at $2436.17 (tax included).
After all the years I was GRC's client they lied to my face about the price and refused to offer any kind of meaningful discount. They are the most expensive out of all the companies I’ve contacted.
Needless to say, I was very disappointed, angry and felt cheated.
Please before deciding to go with GRC for anything check prices from other companies and always ask GRS for itemized quotes. Don’t fall for the “total price” trap
