This is *** *** responding to case *** *** *** brought her car to
mry shop because it was not runnningonce I had a chance to look at it the battery was dead so I tried to charge it but it would not take a charge so I used my shop battery to start the car and it seemed to run fine but did have a knock in the motor which I detremined to be a rod bearingher and her husband came down and I started the car for them so they could hear the rod making noiseso I quoted them a price of *** to fix the bearing and replaceing the timing componetsShe paid *** for the parts I would need to do thisonce I had the motor apart the rod bering had melting to the crank and the rod itselfat this point I called and told them that they would have to be replaced also the crank was *** and the rod was ** that I paid for out of my pocket I also informed them that the oil pump should be replaced tooi could not prove the oil pump was bad because the car was not running but stated to them that the car has over miles and could be part of the bearing failurethey refused to replace the pumpi had to special order all the parts for this car because they are not being made anymore so took me a couple weeks to get themwhen removeing the motor I broke a clip on the cam sensor which happens sometime because it is a very tight fit of the motor into the motor compartmentthe damage on the firewall is just torn insulation from the motor coming in and outonce the motor was installed I started it and it seem to run fine I try to keep a car a couple days to drive it after such a big job but she had to have it back so she came to get itit took the car a minute to start has they do sometime after a build like this and the check engine light was on and I informed her it would go out once the car relearned the engineIt was on when I got the car because of the problems she was havingwhen she drove the car she stated it was shaking so I rode with her and when the car would shift gears it would shake but when you let off the gas and reapply the gas it would gowhen we returned to my shop first thing I did was check the trans fluid which was brown and smelled burnt and sign of a trans problem it should be bright redat this point I noticed a slight knock coming from the motor and told her I needed to drop the oil pan to see if it was trying to spin a bearing because we did not change the oil pump and I was afraid the bearing were not getting enough oilshe then ask me how much to replace the oil pump at this point and I told here it would be another *** because I had to do all the work again and she should have replaced it when I had it apartshe took the car anywaay even with me stating that it would ruin the motor driving it with low oil preasure but she drove ot ** miles to her home anywayshe paid the *** dollar for the parts that r on her car but she did not pay me for the *** crankor the ** rod or my *** in laborthe parts she paid for are on her carthanks james

I will not return the *** for the parts she received and has on her carI will reset the timing if that is what is needed and she was told and I have a witness that if she drove the car it would hurt the engineShe took the car anywayI am out *** dollars on this job now because she did not pay her bill in fullBut if she hurt the engine because she drove it then it is her fault for taking the car after I told her I would need to look at it and drop the oil pan to see what was going onThis will be my last response to this complaint she is welcome to bring the car back to me and I will fix the timing if that is the issue. She drove the car miles home after I told her that driving it could cause damageThe car has over miles on itAnd the car was running and being out of time will not cause extensive damage to the motor the worst it could do id bend a valveBut like I said she was told that driving it could hurt the enginethank you

She only paid for parts and she got the parts she paid for and *** of parts she did not pay for and did not pay *** in laborShe was told to leave the car with me and I would drop the oil pan again at no cost to her at that time I would have reset the timing if it was incorrectI never told her to forget the balance why would I do thatShe was told after the engine was apart and on the stand that they should replace the oil pump by looking at the damage in the engine and the miliageShe took the car and was told it would cause damage if she drove it I have a witiness to that and the fact I told her to replace the oil pump before the engine was put back into the carI will not give a refund on parts that were put on the car she has the parts she paid forShe ask how much to replace the oil pump again and I quoted her a price for doing thatShe is welcome to bring the car back to me and I will reset the timing on itWhen her and her husband heard the car running both heard the rod knocking without tearing it down I only priced replaceing the bearing because I could not see the internal damage until the engine was taken apart

I was being nice in asking for just what I had paid to fix the car to begin with, whichwas not fixed . I'm now totally out of a car because of his negligence which is a lot more than $[redacted].
I also have a witness that you told me to leave. I also have a witness that you never said anything about the transmission being a problem. I also have a witness that you told me to take my money, my car and go after I REFUSED to pay you an additional $[redacted] to take the engine back out. I also have a witness that you NEVER told me not to drive the car, in fact telling me to leave. You are not telling the truth.
Us having witnesses does not change the fact that you were negligent.
You just stated the worst it could be with the timing being out of whack is a bent valve???  That is enough, isn't it? And You also admitted to damaging the firewall thru your statement to the Revdex.com.
The whole point of me having the car fixed was so I didn't have to buy another car. I loved that [redacted] and if you could not fix it you should have just said so. I trusted you and you took my money and gave me back a car that would not run.
You cannot just fix the timing now. It has other problems because of what you neglected to do in the first place.  And for the record my car does not have 200,000 miles on it, although it is close to that,  in the 190,000. You never made no mention of the mileage being a factor in anything.
Furthermore, because of the extended amount of damage, (once again see [redacted] document of the car) it cannot be fixed. It has to have another engine put in it OR the Heads sent out and everything else [redacted] said it would need now. Which will cost thousands b/c of his negligence.
[redacted] has and had never told me NOT to drive the car that day or any other day. Why would I create more damage to a vehicle I was spending a ton of money to fix? That makes no sense.
If [redacted]  doesn't want to settle it through the Revdex.com I cannot change that. I was trying to have an amicable outcome to a 33 day nightmare. The issue still stands that he was negligent and I will definitely be pursing other options to have my money refunded to me or what the vehicle was worth before he touched it.
J. [redacted] really needs to stop thinking about it as money for "parts". He was supposed to fix my car and he did not. That is the bottom line.
Truly been a nightmare.

I would like a refund of the $[redacted] due to his negligence and I feel that the statement provided by [redacted] Motor dealership proves my claim.
See attached document.

[redacted] (Grease Monkey Garage) had my car for 33 days. I had to ask for rides every day to work with him continually stating week after week he would have it done.  When I went to pay him the $[redacted] for the parts, my car was running. It sounded really good. When he floored the gas pedal to let my husband hear the sound he said the car made indicating it was a bearing.  He said that If I didn't replace it that I could drive the car for weeks/months, there was no way to tell how long before the bearings went out. So, I opted to have him replace them. After that, it was one part after the other. He did not tell me I needed to replace the oil pump when we first spoke. When we did speak he said he didn't know if it was bad or not and we AGREED that  he would check it and let me know when he got the engine back in(only hooking up what was needed)  and was able to test it, and even then he never said anything about the oil pump pressure UNTIL I asked him about it, when he told me my car was ready to be picked up. Yes, I needed my car. I have a job and it should have never taken 33 days. I also have text messages to attest to all of this.     If he had driven the car after he said he fixed it he would have had to known there was a problem (jerking). He should have done that before ever telling me it was ready.
I have a written document from [redacted] motors (dealership) in Washington CH, Oh (I've attached the document)  and according to them the "timing" is the main issue with the car.(making no mention of the oil pump)  [redacted] replaced the timing belt, etc etc and did not time everything accordingly. He NEVER told me NOT to drive my car. Matter a fact he told me to take the "balance, my car and go! And I have a witness to this.
Also, there is no truth to the car's computer having to relearn everything when the engine is taken out and replaced. The car should have ran w/no check engine light and the car starting right up. [redacted] a mechanic at [redacted]s also stated that fact. Also being told that as long as the engine could be cranked the oil pump could be tested outside of the car.
As far as the rod goes, [redacted] did not even inform us that we needed a rod. He took it upon himself to go to a junkyard w/out my ok first hand. After not hearing from him for days my husband called him and found this out. And  Then after having it multiple more days said they gave him the wrong one and then ordered it online himself, never telling me the cost of it. And at the very end of this whole ordeal it was not even the "wrong" rod he ordered but the wrong crank. So all that extra time he took and the other $** he said he spent is his own fault for not knowing he had the right part to begin with. (I have text to prove he said this)
He also admitted in his statement  that he was aware of the damage that occurred with the firewall (be it insulation or not).
I would like a refund of the $[redacted] due to his negligence and I feel that the statement provided by [redacted] Motor dealership proves my claim.

The oil pump has nothing to do with the vehicle being "out of time"
According to the dealership this is what caused extensive damage to the engine.
I was never told to not drive the car after I was there to pick it up that it would cause more damage.
After I told him I was unhappy about paying for a vehicle that he was supposed to fix, and didn't, his exact words were,
"take your money, your car, and go.  And so I did.
He should stand behind his work and when its shotty or when you make a mistake you need to own it.  And he made a mistake with the timing and now I'm out of a vehicle.
I think I am being more than generous in just asking for the $[redacted] that was paid to him instead of asking for the "thousands" it would cost to fix my car now that there is more damage to it.
Once again, this has nothing to do with the oil pump, but everything to do with "timing" of the car.
