Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
The problem with my car breaking down after greasy wrench worked on it is due to the secondary valves in the carburetor (mixes gas with air) being stuck shut and the linkage to the choke (keeps cold engine on high rpm's until hot) also being stuckThese were lubricated and released. This is known as a fuel problem because the carburetor is involved
greasy wrench was addressing a "spark" problem which is from the distributor to the spark plugs. It is electrical in nature. So, greasy wrench gave me service, in replacing the cap, rotor and ignition coil (they sit on top of my distributor) but they addressed the wrong part of the engine. The problem was fuel not spark.
I still think amir, the owner of greasy wrench, does not know how to work on cars from the 1970's. Otherwise he would have known the problem was fuel and not spark (electrical)
*** *** in Eugene understood the problem and my car is fixed.
Only certain mechanics nowadays still know how to work on cars from the '50's, '60's and '70's
amir is not one of them
Let me know, ***, if I can send my written response to amir's comments, even though my complaint is closed. I would like to be able to do so. *** ***
P.S. I am hoping my original complaint against greasy wrench appears on the Revdex.com website. Other drivers may have a car as old as mine and they should know not to take it to greasy wrench.Sincerely,*** ***

On November 12, 2015, Global Restoration was notified of a sewage backup needing immediate attention at this customer’s home.  The source of the sewage backup was through the kitchen sink, and this unfortunate incident ended up destroying the cabinets, drywall, flooring and sub-floor in the...

kitchen, living room, dining room, family room, bathroom and hallway. We knew that it was important to find a living situation for this family, so we booked a hotel room for the homeowners for the next 4 days.  Our skilled technicians went to work cleaning and sanitizing the affected areas.  This included removing damaged building materials and packing and storing the homeowner’s belongings.   During the process of this project, we were notified of a serious, airborne, health risk present in the home that could adversely affect our employees.  Upon notifying the insurance company of this hazard, they advised us to immediately conclude our work at the property.  Global Restoration then worked with upper management at the insurance company to calculate an exact payment for work completed.  It was our understanding that the homeowners were slated to receive direct compensation from the insurance company for the work that was included in the adjuster’s estimate, but not completed by our company. We were notified by the homeowner about the stolen guns and A/C unit from their home.  We fully cooperated with the Police Department with their investigation by providing the names and contact information of our employees and subcontractors that worked at this property.  If any of our employees or subcontractors are determined to be at fault by the Police Department, we are willing to take appropriate action against the employee and rectify the situation with the homeowners.

halves at no cost to the customer, the vehicle was diagnosed:  There was no spark, at this time the ignition cap and rotor and coil was replaced. The customer was notified at the time of pickup that his ignition wires were old and should be replaced due to misfire, and that could cause the coil to fail and also possible ignition module. Enough repairs were done to repair the symptom (the coil). No diagnostics were done to find the cause as he did not want to spend more money. On July 24th we got a call that the vehicle would not start again, diagnosis led to a different coil failure which was replaced at no cost again to the customer. Again it was explained to the customer that there was another problem causing coils to fail, once again he refused to get it fixed right. We received a call that the vehicle would not start and he wanted to know if he could have it towed into the shop. The customer was told to get the vehicle towed in which he said he would. We never received the vehicle back in the shop and the customer was called and there was no answer and a message was left for the customer. The customer never returned any calls and this is the first we have heard regarding this customer. If Mr [redacted] feels any of this is due to my "Lack of Knowledge" and NOT due to having the repair done correctly as advised the first time in an effort to save himself money, please advise us, when is the last time his vehicle had a proper tune up(secondary ignition wires} and why he declined to address the other issues when his car wan in my shop. Main emphasis was placed on getting the car running as inexpensively as possible. Ignition coil on GM HEI systems fail due to open in secondary wires /ignition wiring/control module/distributor. Mr [redacted] side stepped and ignored everything we discussed and now is unhappy because of a re-occuring problem. Mr [redacted] should have been charged again the second time he had his vehicle towed to our shop due to it being a different coil however as a courtacy we replaced it for free. I will not be refunding Mr [redacted] the initial $198.02 that he was invoiced, as he was advised twice to repair the vehicle correctly.
