Company told me project would take 3-5 weeks for completion. They have noteven begun the project after more than 7 weeks since I signed the contractand provided one half of the project cost.Product_Or_Service: Install Shade Patio in back yardDesired SettlementIf the company can not do project within the next week, I would like to have my money back and the contract voided.Final Consumer Response Job is now completed. Took more than 10 weeks for completion. I was verbally told is would take 3 to5 weeks for completion. June 9, 2015 contract to build patio cover.Job completed March 19,2016$2551.35 paid by homeowner above agreed amount to complete the patio cover.[redacted] received $ 3700 (1/2 down payment) on June 9,2015 to install a patio cover to be attached to my house.. Feb. 6 2016 [redacted] needed $ 1700 to install patio cover. $ 7400 was paid in full on Feb. 6, 2016 but no patio cover. The homeowner was thenasked to pay for building permit on March 15, 2016. Homeowner then paid $ 2855.02 to [redacted] for alumawood materials Homeowner then payed $ 504.15 to 3 D concrete ( March 18, 2016)Homeowner then asked to pay $ 1000 for labor to install patio cover. Work was completed March 19, 2016.Agreement was signed by [redacted] and the homeowner to repay $ 2551.35. This amount is above the initial $ 7400 contract amount initiated on June 9, 2015. [redacted] was to repay this amount on or before June 1, 2016. No money has yet to be repaid to the homeowner. [redacted] does not return my phone calls. I have called 3 times and left messages.Desired SettlementI would like [redacted] to honor our agreement to repay $ 2551.35 by June 1, 2016. This agreement was signed by the homeowner and [redacted] on March 15, 2016.As of July 6, 2016 no money has been received by the homeowner.

First off, overall work performed by Great Basin was outstanding. We are happy with the deck cover that was built. When the workers were complete, they were unsure of how much money I still owed, and going off memory, I wrote a check that ended up being $900 more than what the job cost. I first contacted Great Basin on August 14th 2014 to inform of them of the over payment and request a refund of the $900. They were very understanding and said the check will be sent out in the mail. Over the next few months, no check was sent and most of the phone calls to Great Basin went to voicemail (and I would leave messages). The times I was able to talk with someone, I was reassured the check will be mailed. It is now December 2014 and I have not received the refund and am unsure how effective the phone calls are in settling this issue.Product_Or_Service: 16X14 Alumawood Patio CoverDesired SettlementI am requesting a refund of the $900.00 that was over payed. Business Response After receiving the initial complaint we contacted [redacted] and let him know two checks were being put in the mail that day. The Two checks were written in the amount of 450.00 for a total of 900.00 which is the amount that was over payed. Please let me know if there is anything we can do to resolve this issue. Company took a large deposit from us on 1-23-2015 and still has not delivered the awning we contracted for. Keeps making excuses and promising to deliver but as yet has not done so. We would like our product or our deposit returned ASAP so we can hire someone else!!!Product_Or_Service: full awning for the back of our houseDesired SettlementDeliver by the end of this next week (3-27-2015 ) or provide a full refund of our deposit.Business Response I did respond to this the day we received it????????????? we were setting up a time to complete it with the homeowner. This was finished and done to homeowners satisfaction.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Awning was finally completed, but it should not have taken 10 weeks to complete after first contact and deposit when we were told we would hear back from him in three weeks to set up delivery time. Very good product results, but VERY SLOW delivery!!!

The new patio cover installation left in a hole in our interior wall which has yet to be fixed after multiple set appointments to fix it.Our patio cover installation was completed on 3/11/15. On 3/13/15, I noticed a hole in the upper portion of our interior wall from where the installers had removed and replaced our patio light to run electrical wiring. I called the owner, [redacted], that morning to let him know and he said he'd come by Saturday to look at it. He arrived Saturday, looked at the area, and stated he'd "talk to the guys and be in touch." I received a call Monday 3/16/15 stating that he was on his way to our home to repair the spot. I told him that my husband and I were both working and he'd need to give us more than 30 minutes notice to be available to be at our home. I told him I was available the following day (Tuesday 3/17/15) and the owner stated he'd "call in the morning and set up a time." Tuesday came and went, and I never heard from [redacted]. I left a message that afternoon that went unreturned. The whole week passed, and my husband and I never heard from the owner. I called [redacted] again on Monday 3/23/15, and he stated "the week got away from him" and asked when I would be available. I told him I was off Wednesday 3/25/15 and he stated "we'll be by between 8-830 that morning." The morning of 8/25/13, I waited at home until 9AM, and no one showed or called. When I placed a call to [redacted]'s phone, it went to voicemail, and he has yet to return my message. Desired SettlementI would like my wall fixed like we were promised. I'd appreciate if he and his staff would show up when they set appointments (or at the very least, have the courtesy to call when they can't) so I'm not setting aside my day for no reason. Business Response this has been fixed and the entire wall was repainted, customers was satisfied with the job. thank you Consumer Response The owner had someone come out and fix the problem area.

They installed the patio covers with no permit. We were told they would take care of the matter. No action since April 2015.Property is "Red Tagged".The Kurt Lug,owner of Great Basin Shade & Deck, has known about this "Red Tag" since 2008, we were told that he would resolve the issue. We found out in April 2015 that the property was still "Red Tagged" when our plumber tried to pull a permit for a new water heater. We have called him every weeks or so, & he has given us different excuses one after another. We looked up his St. Of NV. Contractor's Lic. it was suspended as of 6-03-15. SWe are frustrated & tired of being put off with excuses & promises.Desired SettlementWe want the permit/plans filed with [redacted] & the "Red Tag" lifted, so we can get the plumbing permit finalized. According to the Permit Dept. @ Douglas County, this owner has a reputation of not taking care of problems.

We signed a contract for patio cover install, paid $8,000 deposit, no work has been done to date and no refund of money.[redacted] contacted us in October 2015 and said he could offer us a discount on the patio cover for the back of our home. We agreed and he came over and prepared the contract and took our check for $8,000. After numerous telephone conversations with [redacted] between February 2016 and April 2016, we still have no patio cover and no money has been returned to us.Desired SettlementWe want a full refund of our $8,000.

Defective product, not replaced. Failure to complete project as agreed upon. Failure to return calls or show up when promised. Wrong phone #s given.Workers installed two bent 2x2 tubes on patio cover, promised replacement but did not show up. Failure to install electrical box - worker did not show up on promised date to complete work. Multiple calls to owner and office manager without resolution. Owner no-showed when promised. Patio cover shape and dimensions not according to discussion with homeowner, also not in accordance with plans. Company provided homeowners with incorrect phone numbers for company employees - did not contact employees themselves, and we had no follow-up whatsoever. Desired SettlementReplace bent 2x2 rods, set up appointment to complete promised work ASAP.Business Response this issue was resolved the day after speaking to the customer. please let me know if they are having further issues? As far as I know they are completly satisfied with completed project.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The company SPLICED ONE bent rod rather than replacing the TWO rods we requested. The company owner said "You won't see it." In fact, it is visible and we have continued concerns about the integrity of the spliced rod (will they fail in a way that intact rods are not subject to?) and the cosmetic effects. We appreciate the modification of the outer rods to match the plans we agreed to, but are not happy about the spliced rod. They did not replace the second bent rod at all, and it is clearly visible. The fact is that we paid top dollar for a properly constructed and nice appearing patio cover, and we now have a spliced rod and a bent rod. We were not given the option of receiving two new intact rods, which is what we requested and expected.Final Business Response we have placed an order for new tubes to replace the ones the homeowner is unhappy with. we will contact the homeowner as soon they come in to schedule a time to fix.
