Do not buy furniture from Great BeginningsIf you do, you will regret itI will start with the good:
Nice store
High quality furniture
Decent prices
Very knowledgable sales people

In reference to your letter we received from the Revdex.com I have listed the details of the transaction below.Great Beginnings Order #[redacted] Order date: 3/31/14 Customer: [redacted]-An ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) of 10-14 weeks was quoted at the original time...

of order as stated on the front page of original receipt.-Payment was refunded in full and the order was cancelled upon request on 7/4/14 which is approximately 12 weeks from the purchase date and within our stated ETA of 10-14 weeks. See Cancellation/Order Conditions on Terms & Condition page of order.-The assertion that we offered to “rent a bed” is incorrect. We have never rented any baby products in our 25 year history for any reason. We have at times offered loaner furniture at no cost to customers who have had their babys early as an accommodation as in this case.Our customer service manager tried several times to speak with [redacted] but he refused to speak with her about the situation and only asked for his account to be credited.We are a family owned business with a long history in the community. As a company that specializes in one of the most important life experiences, it saddens us that this customer cancelled her order with us. We have always tried our best to accommodate customers when they have their baby before their furniture arrives and to offer the best customer service in the industry.Thanks for your help Jim S[redacted]
Great Beginnings

Review: Ordered a baby bed and dresser on 31 March 2014. Was told delivery would be in 10 to 14 wekks. Time as come and gone and the furniture is still not here. I have gone into labor early and need a baby bed.Desired Settlement: I want a refund in order to buy a bed immediately. They offered to rent us a bed. This is not acceptable.

Review: On 2 July 2014 I ordered several items from this company through its Baby Registry online site for a friend's baby shower who had registered here. On 7 July 2014 the entire amount of the order was taken from my account. Today is 1 August 2014 and I have not yet received ANY of the items purchased. I have contacted the company numerous times via their customer service email address, never have rec'd a response. I have called the business on numerous occasions, most times either being disconnected or told the individual who handles the online registry items was not available. I was able to finally speak with this individual (Mr. B[redacted]) on 7/21/14 at which time he told me the order would be shipped and arrive at my home on 7/23/14. He also stated that I would not be charged for this order ($118.65) until it shipped. I explained to him that the money has already been taken from my account on 7/7/14, to which he had to explanation. Never rec'd a shipment. Again spoke with Mr. B[redacted] on 7/29/14 and was told the shipment would arrive 7/30/14, again nothing received to date. On 7/31/14 I again contacted this company and told them I no longer needed, nor wanted these items (I assumed ordering a month ahead of the date of the shower would have been sufficient, but having never rec'd anything, I had to go out and buy other items for the baby shower). I asked them to please cancel my order and credit my account in full. The funds have not been credited to my account to date. Have made several calls to the company and apparently now when they ask who is calling and find out it is me, I simply get disconnected.Desired Settlement: Simply want the order cancelled and the funds credited to my account.

August 8, 2014To whom it may concern:In regards to ID# [redacted], I apologize for the miscommunication between Great Beginnings and the customer. The customer did place an order with us, and as we had to special order the product, we were waiting for the shipment to arrive. We were mis-informed about the arrival date of the items; therefore the shipment dates were inaccurate. The individual speaking to the customer was misinformed by the manufacture and we apologize for this misunderstanding.We were in the process of converting our online registry to a new system. The old system did not charge the customer until the package was ready to be shipped. The new system did charge the customer when the order was placed. This was unknown to the gentleman speaking to the customer, consequently causing some confusion about the payment.Great beginnings at no time purposely disconnected the customer. We take pride in our customer service and try to resolve all issues in house. The order has been canceled and a refund has been processed. Refunds do take 7–10 business days to post. The customer can expect a full refund and an apology on behalf of Great Beginnings. Again I am sorry for the issues that the customer had encountered with our store. This is not how we like to do business and I will make sure this does not happen again.Sonia H. Store Manager

Review: My wife and I ordered a furniture set from this location back in February 2013 after several people recommended them. We ordered a Young America crib set and they told us that they would give us a call within 8-10 weeks to let us know about the status of the delivery services. We first reached out to them in May, and were told twice that we would receive calls several times from either [redacted], or [redacted] in regards to our order. None of those calls were returned. In June when we called again and threatened to put a complaint in, [redacted] got back in touch with us and told us that it was not their fault but that their 'third party delivery service" was running behind- This was way beyond the 10 week estimation mark the company provides and they would not take responsibility for the lateness of the order even though our newborn had arrived and we had no furniture. He told us that this week his assistants [redacted] or [redacted] would give us call to let us know when the furniture arrived at their location- two days ago. Again our call was never returned, and we had to call them to find out our furniture had arrived, but then told us that their other 'third party delivery service" would give us a call to let us know of a window to deliver the furniture to us. We have not received a call from them twice today, since leaving messages. My wife and I are extremely upset at this company and its operations and are considering a lawsuit against them. They told us they would waive the delivery cost of the furniture, however, the lack of follow up shows their is a lack of overall organization at this business (it's easier to track UPS packages with tracking numbers to find out where products actually are). Please follow up with an investigation. Thank you.Desired Settlement: We would also like to have a print out of the inquiries our furniture order to see if they were ever documented in their computer system, and to see how they track their packages, and orders. We would think at least a 10-20% ($250-$300) discount to our original order in addition to delivery fee being waived would be at minimal at best., in addition to a signed letter by the owner of great beginnings and explanation of how they will improve their customer services and operations.
