If you are looking for an exceptional company to service your roofing and siding needs, look no further I would highly recommend and had a great experience with Great Lakes Roofing & Siding After losing many shingles as a result of a storm in April, their efficient team inspected my home and found hail damage on my roof and siding Right on the spot they contacted my insurance company and got the ball rolling on my claim They worked with the insurance inspector pointing out the damage, and my claim was approved They brought samples of their quality materials and made sound recommendations I didn't even have to apply for the permit; they took care of that too! Their crew was courteous, diligent, and most of all provided fine craftsmanship The whole process took only a few weeks, and I love the new look to my home They are a top notch company in my book!

I am rejecting this response because: The village building inspector has provided his input. None of the suggestions will work to fix the issue. The issue did not exist before the roof was replaced. I have provided Great Lakes with the information from the building inspector. Awaiting a response

The building inspector only has the job of determining code violations. He cannot issue a code violation for sloppy and poorly installed siding. I have evidence that I have submitted to you indicating the building commissioner and town of algonquin did not approve of our home being sided without having a physical inspection by the inspector. Kim then proceeded to lie to the inspector telling him he thought photos of the house wrap were an acceptable format. The permit that Kim gave us has an arrow pointing only to the ice and water shield with the words "pix" on it which I confirmed with the secretary of the building commissioner she had done this proving Kim was more than aware that an inspection of house wrap was required prior to installing the siding. Another notable reason why the siding should have been removed is due to our pre-existing foam board was ripped out in chunks all over our home when the siding was removed. Our foam board should have been replaced but Kim decided to pad his pockets instead with our insurance funds. With chunks of our foam board missing our siding has numerous areas that go in and out and create a wavy and uneven look.
Kim continues to lie about everything and doesn't take responsibility for anything.

Apparently, the siding was cut too short. When it is warm or when sun shines on the siding, the siding expands and the joint closes. When it cools the siding contracts and the joint opens up. That course of siding needs to be repaired. Craig

The caulking and shutter fastener has been fixed.
Water leak was supposed to be fixed on Friday (8/28/15) was told to check during rains on Saturday (8/29/15). However I do see leak on the south west corner. I have asked if the cracked shingles were fixed on Friday (8/28/15) but have not heard back yet.

We have one minor issue to address yet and homeowner is aware of that.

The roof passed inspection by the village in mid august. We have spoken to the village building inspector along with receiving his written report regarding the homeowners recent concern. The village inspector understands this is a pre-existing condition that has nothing to do with what we did. We informed the village we are willing to address this issue for the homeowner for free. The village inspector agrees that there are 2 very simple options available to address the homeowners concern. The homeowner refuses to cooperate with the village directive. The village inspector has offered to meet all parties and we would welcome that but the homeowner has cut off communication with us and the homeowner refuses to pick either option. The homeowner has a balance of approximately $4500. and refuses to pay his bill over a $5 modification that we are not even responsible for. We are initiating legal proceedings immediately against homeowner and filing a lien on his house. We will let the court decide. We have photos and documents available for review along with name and phone number of Hoffman Estates builing inspector for contact.

[redacted] requested a 3rd meeting on Oct 7th with the building inspector without me. The inspector asked us to place a piece of trim/flashing in one area. We are in the process of doing that.
We addressed everything on their punch list even though the inspector said everything was fine. You can contact the Algonquin Building commissioner directly to verify my statement. The building commissioner has told [redacted] she is being unreasonable. I have that in a email from the village to [redacted] to verify.

I have been in constant contact with Mr [redacted] as opposed to Mrs [redacted]. Mr [redacted] is in the building trades and better understands the one minor issue. As for the housewrap inspection we provided the village building dept with many photos taken in progress. I spoke to the village building...

commisioner personally about this. Also the building commisioner confirmed that only one issue needed altered. We completed that today and it passed inspection. Also the building commisioner has emailed Mrs [redacted] totally disagreeing with her and stated what she is asking for is unreasonable. I have all the email communications between Mrs [redacted] and the building dept and I would be happy to forward those to the Revdex.com. The building commisioner also states that there is nothing wrong with the installation of the siding otherwise they would require it to be addressed. I can also forward that documentation to the Revdex.com too.
