Review: Originally the company gave a quote of $1,050 to complete the job which involved digging up the basement cement, removing the old pipes, replacing with new pipes, refilling the hole, and cementing the basement. It was stated that it would take one day for eight hours. The first problem occurred with them not having the correct equipment to remove the water that was already coming up through the pipe, and they were aware of the water issue before coming out. So, one of the workers needed to leave the site to get a sump pump, which took over 45 minutes. At eight hours of time, the job was not completed and the only thing they had accomplished was opening the concrete and removing the top of the pipes. The workers then left, stating they had to do another job, and I had to continue the digging and removal of the remaining old pipes. They returned the next day and put in the new pipes. They then told me I could fill in the gravel and put new cement over it for a reduction of the original price of $1,050. I was then billed for the full amount of $1,050 even though I had done part of the labor myself in order to complete the job. I contacted the owner who was rude and unprofessional. Not only did he curse at me but was sarcastic to me about the cost stating it was on the house and he was going to rip the check up. He then cashed the check and I have tried to contact him several times to resolve this issue and have gotten no response.Desired Settlement: Due to the fact that I put in 4 hours of labor on this job and do not work for the company which was charging me $110 an hour for labor, I feel I should have a refund for $440. While I would like the total cost refunded due to comments of the owner that he was not going to cash my check, I realize that his workers did perform some work at my home.
