Review: My boyfriend has been trying to have them come to fix the windows they have put in for quiet a few years now and they never never come to the house or set up appointments. However they make phone calls yearly to try to sell more work and when we ask about fixing the work they previously did, they take the information and never respond back. Recently I have tried to call since the issue have become even more apparent after this past winter with Ice forming on the ledge all the way across where the locks are, this in addition to the already existing broken mechanism that does not allow the window to remain open, and broken stoppers/ locks. I have called more than four times since February 2014 and each time the receptionist who answers he phone, I believe her name is [redacted] states " it had been a hard winter and we have so many people calling with issues and we had a technician leave us so unless it is is broken glass, completely unable to lock, or a safety hazard you are going to have to wait." This is completely unacceptable and I had been told she was texting [redacted] guy and he would call me to stop buy after a job and nothing. They are rude on the phone and keep telling me how this year is super busy, But what about the past six years plus we have been trying to get the windows serviced and they have failed to comply with the life time warranty that is on them. When I told her about the ice by the locks, she openly admitted to it being a leak and they would try to fix it, but that ice by the corners are normal and by the locks is an air leak. Please if you could help us I would greatly appreciate it. You guys are our last resort and we have given them enough chances and opportunities to rectify the situation but they never have.Desired Settlement: Fix, You guys are our last resort and we have given them enough chances and opportunities to rectify the situation but they never have.

Response:

Firstly, we were confused by the name of the complainant because we thought we had been speaking to Sarah [redacted]. Now I understand that I was speaking with [redacted]'s girlfriend [redacted]. We are very proud of the fact that we have had no complaints for years at the Revdex.com. We did receive a service request for 2 windows that needed adjusting. Then [redacted] called back and said that ice was forming on the windows. I did explain that the brutal winter had caused a severe delay in installations and services getting done, due to the frigid temperatures. Per our distributors, we understand that the majority of window companies in this area are having this problem still. We care about our customers, and I am sorry that [redacted] thought that I was rude on the phone. I am usually complimented about my concern for my customers, and am never rude to anyone. I did explain to her that homeowners who had windows that wouldn't close in that frigid cold, or had broken glass hanging there would take precedence and asked for her patience. I did send the service tech the information and asked him to call. I also texted him. During this time, I advertised for 2 more service technicians, and finally found a capable one in June. We definately wish we could have gotten out there sooner, and are now getting caught up. Each time I talked with [redacted], she was pleasant and understanding. I was therefore surprised to hear that she filed a complaint. I was out of town at the time, and my associate contacted the tech as soon as he saw the complaint. The tech went out the next day, and found that the windows were out of alignment due to incorrect usage. He showed the homeowner how to properly open the windows, and explained that the ice was from too much humidity in the home, which condensed on the windows in the bitter cold. They were appreciative , and even have had contact now on a social basis. We regret that this happened, and believe that the customer is now satisfied. Thanks,

Let me just say that Great Lakes Windows is one of the best companies I have ever worked with. We rehab 15-20 houses per year and have many rentals. If you ever need windows or doors and you don't talk to Great Lakes Windows, you have wasted your time. In today's world it is so hard to find good customer service, so when you find great customer service you put them on speed dial. With such a combination of Great customer service and Great prices, there is no need to look elsewhere. Great Lakes Windows has earned my trust. Try them, and I'm sure they'll earn yours.

Replaced all of our windows with Pella Casement windows purchased through GLW. The overall experience of buying and getting the windows installed was great. The sales person was very easy to work with and very knowledgeable. Pricing for the base widows and all options were clearly explained along with the corresponding prices for each. The window installation team was very professional, on time, and cleaned up after themselves each day.I would definitely recommend GLW to anyone looking to buy windows

Great Lakes Windows did an outstanding job with our new windows last fall. We put on a new 4 seasons room and GLW provided us with new slider windows and a new patio door. We are shocked at how efficient they are! and what a great price they were....much more cost effective than some of the other local vendors.

Great job Great Lakes!!!
