I know our price for the repair he needed is a fair market price we check our prices nationally & find that we're actually towards the bottom of the pricing in the marketMy office person who talked with this customer was very polite, courteous and tried to explain to him the reason for the cost with part, tech salary, truck associated costs, parts inventory etcBut, she definitely handled him the same way I would want her to help my mother if she had and issueI was actually in her office when she took the callThe customer has not disclosed the whole storyA week later he requested a second service on the same furnaceI (owner) personally performed the service call and determine at this visit, a week later, the air pressure switch had failI did not charge him for the service or the partHe seemed to be gratefulMy goal is to treat my customers the fair way I would want to be treated and with a fair market value price for a job well done! I know folks feel they can find the parts sometimes cheaper on the internetIf he can, and feels he has the proper training or knowledge to work on his own furnace and not put his family in harms way, then thats the American way and I support him for doing soBut, if not, call a professional and we'll be more than happy to do the service for you as we are very well trained in this area
Our technician diagnosed the part that failed in this customer's furnace, then showed this customer our company's price to repair/replace on an iPad softwareThe technician obtained a authorization signature to make this repair BEFORE doing the repair by this customerThe customer authorized it
& we made the repair, If this customer felt the price was to high for his budget, he could have declined the repairThen we would have only charged the $diagnose feeWe believe this is the FAIR & HONEST way of doing businessThe customer always knows our price before we make a repair! The choice is always in our customer's hands, not ours!
