Great Price Auto Glass Reviews (1)

Windshield install was botched. Improperly glued, molding blew off in the wind. Refused returning money.7/14/16 original visit, purchase and service date. Contacted for complaint on the 15th and 16th with no resolution. Spoke with Ron, owner. This company completely botched my windshield repair and REFUSED to credit me back. After leaving their office, I noticed the rear-view mirror wasn't even clipped in right back into the windshield, it was hanging down and off to the side, which was a clear indicator in the lack of care put into every part of the job. On my way home, I heard a loud thump on the top of my car. Arriving home, the molding at the top of the windshield had blown off and glue was strewn all over the top of my car. "Great Price" refused to give me my money back, saying I needed to come back but at this point I didn't trust their work to even be safe. I took it to [redacted]. Turns out everything about the job was done wrong. The molding was hodgepodge-d together with parts of my old trim, when normally they are supposed to provide the molding in one piece. It wasn't even securely taped or glued. The windshield was about as reliable as the cracked old one I came in to replace. I've heard rumors they use parts from junk yards to save on costs, which seems plausible based on the shoddy work.A faulty installed windshield can be a hazard for yourself and others on the road. It's an unregulated industry I've heard, but these guys are pushing the boundaries. I was told my windshield could have blown off, so of course I didn't take it back to them. Here's images of the work:[redacted]Desired SettlementI want them to credit back the $160+tax they took from my bank totaling $178.61. [redacted], the owner, told me he wanted his windshield back. As a "professional" autoglass installer, he should know this is impossible. The glass breaks usually when you remove it. You cannot return it. I have nothing to return to him. He did bad work and I had to have it redone, so his work was useless to me. Business Response Hi there, windshield was properly replaced on customers vehicle, the right steps to bond the glass to the body of the vehicle was installed correctly with the our DOW automotive urethane adhesive. The moulding that the gentlemen is referring to it doesn't effect the seal between the glass and the Frame of the vehicle, it is just a trim that get put on after the glass is installed. And the windshield that we installed on the vehicle has no chance to "falling off or pop out". Unfortunately the gentlemen wasn't happy with our performance due to a "moulding trim coming off the top" and I totally understand he's frustration and I do take that very serious. and we let our installer know about this matter and made sure to be more careful and take extra time to make sure everything was done properly before leaving the shop. Now Its very minor matter when this happens, it could of been very easy simple fix with either replacing it with new molding or fixing the same trim, we warranty all our work, our reputation and customer having a great experience is very important to us everyday, we try very hard to give our customers the best service and the best prices possible. But the gentlemen never called back to tell us that he had a problem, never mentioned that he wants to go to another shop and that he doesn't like our work or anything, he didn't even give us a chance to do our due diligence to warrant our work. I believe and stand 100% behind our work and that if their is something wrong with any work that we have done to a vehicle then bring it back and I will fix it my self with no hassle( hardly have any come backs to any problem to any work we have done.)the right steps were take, the original moulding trim that came with this vehicle was installed back, I took the call to schedule and the gentlemen specifically said that he want the lowest price possible and he would not mind driving from Reno to Carson if he can get this as cheap as possible, which there is nothing wrong with that a lot of people like saving money. he didn't want to replace the moulding. Now the gentlemen called me back after he had went to another glass shop with out letting us know That he had a problem to begin with, and the other glass shop broke the windshield that we had installed. Our windshield was a tight seal and I'm very sure of that because the other glass shop couldn't remove the windshield without breaking the glass.Like I told the customer he did not give us a chance to warranty our work and at least do my due diligence. I'm upset about this matter and I'm frustrated with the fact that our customer is not satisfied, but at the same time you have to give us a chance to do our due diligence and if their is any problem with the work, give us a chance to fix it.Thank youConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The windshield was NOT properly secured with adhesive. The first indicator is the molding blowing off in the first place. The glue wasn't used on the windshield correctly and the tape used clearly wasn't secured, it was only put on the frame and not properly secured with the windshield. This can be confirmed at the place that I went to redo the job, [redacted](775) 337-1221One of the employees, [redacted], also worked with Great Price and said they use used parts in their replacements and he successfully sued them for employment fraud. They also used old molding, not new molding which explained why the molding was in three pieces instead of one and why it blew off so easily. Price and quality were both of equal importance to me. I was not informed there was a chance of the molding blowing off, or that the price would include use of the old molding, or I wouldn't have accepted the job. There was no communication at all on this matter like he claims. His office may not keep good records of their calls, but I called his office 3 times. 2 times prior to getting the work done, 1 time after to give them a final opportunity to give me my money back. As I explained then, and will explain again now, if someone botched the work, why would you trust them to redo it? They also are out in Carson City, I have a busy schedule, and wasn't going to drive that far again when their work wasn't even reliable. Any place can offer to redo your work instead of give you your money back, but if the work left you feeling uncomfortable, why would you go back? I explained this to the owner and someone working in his shop TWICE before getting the work done at the new place and both times I was not offered my money back.Final Business Response our customer service is number one priority we warranty 100% satisfaction, we apologize for any inconvenience, call the shop and ask for manager and we will refund your money back.thank you and have nice day. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)They have credited me my money back. I appreciate the resolution.
