Great River Organic Milling Reviews (4)

HelloThere are disagreements between the time frame on this complaint but basically this is the situation.  This customer did not purchase the product from Great River Organic Milling Company she purchased it from [redacted].  It was purchased it in November of last year.  My assistant...

explained to the customer that "We did not sell her the product" [redacted] did so she would need to get her "refund'" from [redacted]. WE DID HOWEVER offer to replace her product at no charge to her.  She refused this offer.  We then directed her back to [redacted] and due to the length of time between the purchase and the complaint [redacted] denied her claim for a refund and directed her "To the company" again we offered to replace her product but she refused.Since we did not initiate the original transaction and considering that her first contact with me was August 4th I really didn't feel the obligation to refund anything.  In addition she has a very abrasive attitude towards my assistant which just doesn't sit well with me.Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I suggest the consumer revert back to the point of purchase for her refund.  The company did not make a sale to the consumer.  The company did not receive the consumers money. The company was willing to replace the product and the offer was refused.  Had we made the cash sale to the consumer we would refund the cash received. This will be my final response.Thank you

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
It is clear Great River Milling is deceptive in its business practice which goes a long way to explain why their flour is of a poor saw-dust like quality yielding terrible baking results.  Several people have experienced poor baking results with Great River Milling flour and have reviewed their dissatisfaction online. If this company offers a 100% satisfaction they should honor their guarantee, whether the product was purchased on [redacted] or elsewhere. It is clear from all the documents in this Revdex.com complaint that they do lie, and know they can get away with their lies. They falsify statements, and do so because they know they can get away with it in this forum.Accordingly, I have already escalated this case to the Attorney General offices of both Wisconsin and Minnesota where the company maintains its business. I will update this case with the appropriate case files.Once again, I want my money back in the amount of $46.32.
Regards,

Review: I have tried to resolve my problem with Great River Milling since May 2015. I have suffered several hours in mis-spent time calling the company, with no call backs.

I was sold a 25 lb bag of spelt flour which was nothing short of saw-dust. I would like my money back : $46.32.

Everything I baked with Great River Milling Spelt flour has turned out very heavy and dense. I typically bake with VitaSpelt flour, and have done so for years, with never a problem. But with Great River Milling Spelt flour my baking efforts have been a waste in effort, time, and product.

When I initially called the company in May 2015, I was told that the company stands very firm in a 100% guarantee and would gladly provide a refund.

At the time - May 2015 - I just wanted to know if I was doing anything wrong and wanted advice on the best way to use their flour because every, every, every time I used their flour I ended up with a bread that was inedible, so hard and dense that you couldn't cut through it, and a complete misery.

I was told Great River Milling Spelt flour is more coarse than VitaSpelt, and so you had to add more water to the mixture.

Well, that's not true. Although I tried their advice to no beneficial gain, the reason my baked goods didn't come out was because Great River Milling Spelt flour was dried up and old.

I called the customer service department a second time, this time in August 2015, and I couldn't get through. The phone rang a few times then dropped mid-ring. I called at least 20 times over 2 days. I sent an email which was not answered.

After waiting a few days, I tried calling the company again. I did get through and was told by the person who answered the phone that she has had quite a number of complaints about phone calls dropping after a few rings. I asked for a refund because the flour was not working out, even after I followed their baking advice.

And this is when the even bigger run around started. Phone calls didn’t drop during mid-ring but went into voice-mail with no call back. Basically every call was IGNORED.

When after several, several, continuous calls to the company, someone finally did pick the phone up. They patiently listened to what I had to say: that since I purchased the product on [redacted].com, and the time frame to return the product had expired, I was told by [redacted].com to contact the company, Great River Milling, directly.

The Great River Milling apologized for the lack of communication on their end, and said they would look into the matter with [redacted] and would then call me back.

Great River Milling called [redacted] pretending to be me, and asked for a refund on the flour.

Great River Milling called [redacted] and impersonated me. Why is Great River Milling impersonating me????????? The call is logged by [redacted] and there is a recording of Great River Milling impersonating me.

If you think this is bad enough. Wait, …!

I was promised a call back while the company looked into the matter with [redacted]. With no call back several days later, I called the company again, and again, and again. Each time the phone rang a few times, and then the call dropped.

Finally I reached the ‘person in the office’ and asked to speak with the owner. I was told the owner was out of the office and would call me back. I NEVER got a call back.

Following up on my own unreturned phone calls, having yet again to put up with call drops after the first few rings, I finally spoke with the owner.

Rude, combative, bull-dozing his point across, he said he would not give me a refund but he would send another 25 lb bag of their flour. Then he hung-up on me just as I began to explain all the trouble I’ve had with his flour and his company.

After all this. I took a few cups of their flour to a local bakery, and was told by the head baker that the main reason my own baking was frustrated was because the Great River Milling flour was not fresh to begin with; and more like saw-dust, which has never been know to produce a decent loaf of bread.

A really terrible experience. An even worse company. An even, even more worse product.

I would like a refund to my card for the $46.32 I spent on the flour.

Great River Mill runs its business in Minnesota and Wisconsin.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund to my card for the $46.32 I spent on the flour.
