Since 2003 various documents have been sent to Ms. [redacted].

Due to no response from Ms. [redacted], litigation of Ms. [redacted]’s account was initiated and our process server provided us with documentation showing Ms. [redacted] was served with a summons on February 22, 2006 at her place of employment.

On March 8, 2006 Ms. [redacted] called and requested an interest free settlement for the debt to be paid in payments.  On March 30, 2006 we received a voluntary payment from Ms. [redacted] in the amount of $25.00 with a letter offering to pay $25.00 per month towards the debt; we have received no further voluntary payments from Ms. [redacted] to date.

The account was found to be valid by the Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa and Judgment was granted by the court on April 7, 2006.  On April 28, 2006 an Abstract of Judgment was recorded for Ms. [redacted] in Contra Costa County.  The Judgment was renewed by Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa on September 28, 2015 and the Renewal of Judgment was recorded in Contra Costa County on October 15, 2015.

Due to non-payment of her account a wage garnishment was initiated on August 12, 2009 from which we received one payment and another wage garnishment was initiated on April 19, 2016.
We are following up with Ms. [redacted] by sending her an account details letter with copies of documentation of this account to include a copy of the application that was used to open the account and a copy of the Judgment in this matter.  We are also requesting in our letter that she call us to discuss a possible payment arrangement for her account and informing her that due to the age of the debt it is no longer reportable to the credit bureaus.

Review: Attn: Greater Cal FinancialThe last correspondence I sent you company on March 5, 2014 pertained to a demand for validation for ac# 71904601. Your company failed to provide any validation for the account at the same time youve persevered with reporting the account on my credit report. This is a blatant violation of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA Sec 809). Hence, I hereby declare my intent to bring suit against your company under the regulations, due to your continued collection activity and failure to remove the account from my credit report.Desired Settlement: I am allowing you a period of 14 days to remove the account from my credit report, after which I will pursue this matter in California Superior Court. I have brought this matter to the attention of the Attorney Generals Office. You may only correspond with me by mail and are to cease all collection activity pertaining to this account

Review: I had a judgment against me in 2007 that was paid in full in 2008, but it still shows on my credit report with all 3 credit agencies as an open judgment with no status updates showing it has been paid in full. I attempted to get a copy of the paid in full notice, but can't get GCFS to send me one or correct this issue with the credit agencies.Desired Settlement: I need this removed from my credit report with all 3 agencies or at the very least marked as paid in full since 2008.

Review: I owed money from a loan I owed and this company bought the loan. I had a judgement for this particular case and had to pay a garnish wage...My original cost was $3871.41 with I paid $1684.00 of that wage and because I was a part time employee the company stopped paying (i did not know this) and I thought I was finished paying because no one said anything to me. Now I received a letter from the same company stating I now owe more than the original amount $3922.62...How is that? I spoke with the gentleman handling the case and basically he stated the money I paid did not count and I owe more money now...This company is stealing money from me and taking advantage of me not having a Lawyer.Desired Settlement: I believe I should pay the original amount minus the payment I of 1684.00 made which I would owe now $2187.41...

Review: I am complaining about GCFS because I had been making payments on my debt for years and was almost done when all of a sudden the payments stopped coming out of my checking acct. So I did have a garnishment go thru and thought I was paying off GCFS but months later when Gregory Cross contacted me he indicated his garnishment didn't go thru cause I was already being garnished. I did find out it was from another creditor so I called Mr. [redacted] to try to make payment arrangements of $100/mo as thats what I was making before the payments stopped. He refused my arrangement as I had tried calling him several times. I have now received garnishment for 2465.58 which is 4 times the amount of what my balance was 587.60. I feel the fees of 1852.98 is unfair and I should be able to just pay my balance in what I owe or at least Mr. Cross should have accepted my payment arrangement as I did nothing to stop the payments from coming out before.Desired Settlement: I feel the fees of 1852.98 is unfair and I should be able to just pay my balance in what I owe 587.60 or at least Mr. Cross should have accepted my payment arrangements of $100/mo as I did nothing to stop the payments from coming out before.

Regards,

Review: I am filing a complaint against this company because they are attempting to collect on a credit card debt that is not valid and past its statute of limitations. As of August 2015, Greater California financial service is not reported negative on my credit report. I have sent them cease and desist letters and a zombie debt letter but they insist that I pay the debt. The original debt was with Wells Fargo in the amount of $12,000 but was charged off August 2007. Furthermore, this company is also claiming I owe twice the amount of the original balance. I am in the process of re-financing my home but cannot because they have a lien against me. They also unknowingly took money out of my bank out. When I was first notified of this debt, they did not communicate who they were but instead stated they were a law firm. I have been instructed by the mortgage broker to file a complaint in hopes to resolve this issue and move forward.Desired Settlement: My desired resolution would be proof of the validity of this debt (original contract/application) and also remove the lien they have placed against me.
