[redacted] Hello- I apologize for the delay in respondingI was out of town for a conference and returned just in time for our final weekend of Hauntaquarium, our big children’s Halloween event I am not sure what else I can add to my original responseVisit a review website like [redacted] or *** and if you sort by date you will notice that the recent reviews actually mention how clean the exhibits areAlso if you look at photographs posted by reviewers or on social media taken by our guests, you will see that the exhibits are exceptionally clean with very clear waterYou are more than welcome to come visit yourself at any time to confirm this in person [redacted] *

Thank you, **Here is my corrected response:The business's response is not satisfactory Despite what their representative is claiming, online reviews show that the Greater Cleveland Aquarium has had numerous complaints about water quality and size of the exhibit during all four years it has been in operation. Her explanation that the water quality was poor due to a feeding at 3:30pm daily does not explain why the water was cloudy, green and murky the entire time we were thereWe arrived well before 3:and at no time were any fish fed in any kind of educational display, or otherwise, besides the stingrays.The company has publicly responded to many of these reports online, showing that they are very aware of the many problems with their exhibit and ongoing customer dissatisfaction. I've uploaded a photo of the GCA which another visitor posted on a travel website which is a very accurate representation of how the water quality looked on the day of our visitI've also uploaded screen shots of only a few of the many, many similar reviews of the GCA that can be found onlineIt's clear that customer dissatisfaction of the GCA is ongoing and was not resolved after their first year as their representative is suggesting, with recent complaints similar to mine posted only last month (September 2016). In response to the GCA's assertion that a patron would not be entitled to a refund from a movie theater if they did not like the movie, I must say that is not an accurate analogy in this case at allFor the analogy to be accurate the movie theater would reek of dead fish, have a cloudy/scratched/dirty screen which makes it impossible for patrons to see the video, and a sound system that breaks down and leads to employees standing behind patrons and shouting out the dialogue so everyone can hear. That would be akin to what we experienced at the GCA, not simply "not enjoying the show"(Oh, and the movie the patrons went to see (in this case the jellyfish exhibit at the GCA) was not showing, but the theater didn't mention that before you bought your tickets, or ever provide any explanation)

A big part of the Aquariums mission is to
“entertain and educate about aquatic life”. One of the many ways we accomplish this is through public feedings of our animalsSome Aquariums chose to feed their animals after hoursFrom our sharks, to our catfish, we feed them during the day so our guests can watch and enjoy it
The items that are fed out to the fish can sometimes effect the clarity of the waterIt only lasts to minutes before the filtration takes care of it and the exhibit is photo ready again
I’m sorry that the speaker system malfunctioned during the stingray feed that you attendedRather than canceling the feed and disappointing everyone in line though our staff made the right decisionThey continued without the microphone, and walked around the exhibit to see if any guests needed help
I’m very proud of our Aquarium, our staff and our animalsIn no way were you “ripped off” by visiting usUnfortunately I will not be issuing you a refund on your tickets
