Review: Went to Green Acres Shell for repair on my "low oil pressure" light was on.

They came back and said the light would not go on for them.

That I needed a new water pump and gaskets cause care was leaking oil.

I just had an oil change 1 week earlier and that shop did not mention anything about serious leaks.

They replace the water pump which usually does not go bad, 2 gaskets, hoses and an oil change.

Then they told me addition 1,700. to fix the oil sending unit.

I took it to another show they fixed it and replaced the oil sending unit for 127.

I called back and ask to speak to the owner and told me they live out of town.

He charged me about 800.00 and the other shop fixed the oil sending unit for 127.00

I feel I was taken advantage of as a female.

The manager called me and told me it had to be fixed the water pump. I feel the work did not need to be done and he got a lot of money off me.

He did not fix the problem I requested in the first place a fix something else for a lot more money.

He also asked me where I went for the repair told him and he said he called and the man that fix my car just changed it out because I asked him.

However the low oil sending light does not come on anymore and that was what I wanted fixed.

I would like 1/2 of my money back, I feel I was treated unfairly and was over charged.

[redacted] is the manager and he did call me 2 x but never offered to come down on the prce.

Best Regards, [redacted]Desired Settlement: Part of my money back. It was worked that didn't need to be done at the time I requested low oil pressure light.

Review: On September 21, 2013 I went to Green Acres and informed them that my temperature gauge on my vehicle had been showing that the vehicle had been over the normal level that it usually had run on, and I wanted them to check why the gauge was indicating that the vehicle was running hotter than normal. They informed me that the radiator needed to be removed and replaced, and possibly the thermostat. Based on what they told me, I told them that they could change the radiator, and they said that when they would start the work they would replace the thermostat if they thought that it should be replaced. I picked up the car at the end of the day and drove home. The next day, September 22, 2013 I drove the car for 4 blocks and the thermostat spiked to 100% hot and the car was undrivable. On the following day, September 23, 2013 I called Green Acres and said that my car was totally overheating and undrivable and would have to be towed back to them, they informed me that they would charge me for a tow. I called my insurance company and they sent out their own towing company to tow the car back to Green Acres. Green Acres then said that they would flush the car again, and later in the day they said that it was fine, I picked it up and it overheated again. I brought it back Sept. 25th, they flushed it again and said that it was fine. The manager told me that he drove the car himself and that it "only heated up 2 times and locked up on him" but now it was fine. I picked it up on the night of Sept. 26th and it overheated again. On Sept. 27, 2013 I brought it to Best Chevrolet at 2600 Veterans Blvd. Kenner, La 70062 and they performed a diagnostic on the vehicle, and they told me that they found that the coolant was full of rust, leaks were coming from the intake gaskets and crossover pipe, and when the engine was running coolant bubbled out of the radiator indicating blown head gaskets.Desired Settlement: A full refund from Green Acres Towing & Repair. I was charged $60.36 for the estimate, and $983.95 for worked performed.

Review: For starters this company has scammed me into spending $900 in my car repair which was still wasn't repaired all they did was remove and replace valve cleanings connecting rod bearings and gasket . All that for $900 and they said they couldn't have gone any lower and all I ask for was for them to fix the problem with my engine because it was knocking. Yet the problem is still not solved so $900 was not well spent there and I have the receipt which shows evidence of the work they've done to my car and yet it still didn't run back then.Desired Settlement: I would like to at least have some of the money I've spent getting all this done. Whole lot of money was well put into this car and yet it still was repaired back then.
