On April 4th 2016 I called [redacted] about my malfunctioning dishwasher. The control panel was not working correctly.This was not the original control panel it had already been replaced in July 2014. [redacted] immediately put me in contact with Valley Home Appliance. On May 13th, six weeks later, after three visits and multiple phone calls my [redacted] dishwasher is now working properly again. The cost to me was $345.94. If I had known this, I would never had paid this. Lessons learned: [redacted]. Insist on the price before any work is completed. We asked Home Appliance for the price on the work but were never told until after the work was completed.

I can't prove it but I am sure they pulled the old bait and switch pricing [redacted] on me. The company was recommended to me [redacted] who sold me the pool heater. [redacted] told me that the charge should be around $250 to remove my old heater and install the new one. I contacted Valley Home and asked what the charge would be and I swear the gentleman told me $250, exactly in line with what [redacted] mentioned. I even asked him to repeat the price for me and I told my wife $250 later that evening. After the install, they left me an invoice not for $250, but rather, $350 + HST. When I spoke with the gentleman about the price difference he said that he would have never agreed to $250 as he had to take my old heater out and it was a tight fit for the new one. When I spoke to his [redacted] afterwards, she indicated that sometimes when a job becomes more difficult for whatever reason, they charge more. He also left a mess. Lesson learned - get the quote in writing!

After discovering an error code with our oven we deiced to call a technician to see if they could come in to fix the part that was malfunctioning. According to the error code and the manufacturers information, it was a single part that needed to be changed. We let the company know the error code and the details that we had found, asked if they could come and fix the problem, they said yes. However when the technician arrived he had no idea about the error code and stood in our home to [redacted] the results and then later found out that the company no longer sells the parts in order to repair it. There was no need for the technician to come and waste his time and our time and money to a problem that has no solution.
