Green Bay Animal Emergency Center, S.C. Reviews (3)

I noticed the Revdex.com plaque on their reception desk and so I wanted to make sure to report this business!
They have recently moved and changed their name to Green Bay Animal Referral Center, 2141 Lime Kiln Road, Green Bay, WI 54311
They are incredibly understaffed for after hours emergencies. One Vet only. My pet was in shock from an intestinal obstruction and we were left waiting in the lobby for 3 hours before being seen. Finally at 1AM my dog was seen, it was decided he needed surgery but there were no surgeons available until 6AM. We decided to wait in Green Bay. At 7AM we were notified that there weren't any available surgeons and the Green Bay Referral Center wanted us to transfer our dog to the Fox Valley Referral Center. We were charged $483 for the 1 xray that was taken and the IV that was given while our dog was in their care between 1AM and 6AM.
Besides the review of the professional staff, I would also like to comment on the un-professional behavior of the reception staff. While we waited we observed the receptionists giggling about an elderly couple that were planning on waiting the entire night while their dog was also waiting for surgery on it's eye. Apparently the receptionists thought it was funny that a dog-mom and dad would want to be there should anything happen.
I also observed extremely un-compassionate behavior from the staff when another family was told there dog had suffered a heart attack and was dying. They let the family know about it in the main lobby in view of all the other people waiting with their pets. It was very uncomfortable for me to see the grief while also worrying about my own pet and brought me to tears of frustration. This business should not be listed as a critical care animal facility with no [redacted] Veterinary Surgeons on staff.

We recently took our ferret in to the emergency room because she was being unresponsive and refusing to eat. He waited for 2 hours before we were seen. The ferret was practically dying in our arms and if we consulted the receptionist all she would say is that we had to wait because the doctor was busy. When we were finally seen the doctor, with no proof and not willing to provide proof, said the ferret had cancer and she needed to be put down. Worst service. She clearly didn't care and she practically murdered a ferret with no proof. Then she charged 280$. Google is a better vet then this place.

On sunday april 27th I brought my pug in for emergency treatment. She was diabetic and had been vomiting as well as not drinking. She was unable to receive her insulin because she has to have eaten to get her injections. I called ahead to let them know her situation and how long it would take us to arrive. We got there and waited for a few minutes for triage. I carefully explained her situation and told her I had been in contact with my vet who advised me to get her seen and that she needed IV fluid, something to settle her stomach and food given she could have her insulin. The vet tech took her back to be examined and observed she said. About 15 minutes later the vet tech asked me to a room to get more details. I provided her with times things happened, dosages, all of the detail she asked for I gave her. I waited again for near a half an hour and the vet came in to tell me what she was seeing. I again told her what I knew and that she needed fluids. I told her that my pug was still moving about in the car on the way, she seemed surprised as she was not aware of what was happening at this point. She left and said they would admit her and get her treatment started. After 3 hours I asked to see my pug and they brought her to the door way limp in the techs arms. I was horrified to see that no IV had been started. Not a thing had been done for her, they just "observed her" decline quickly and did nothing to help her. I asked to stay with her and was told it was not allowed. they told me to go home and call them when ever I wanted to check on her. In 40 minutes a call came that she was deteriorating and I told the vet I was on my way. I arrived in less than 10 minutes and had to wait 10 to 15 minutes for them to bring me to her in a room. She was completely out of it. Her eyes faced outward her hear was flopping in all directions, her heart was beating out of her chest. She was so agitated and miserable. They told me I could spend as much time with her as I wanted. All I could think was are you kidding me! I told her to get the shot and make this stop for her. The vet told me that her brain has swollen from the dehydration and there was nothing they could do. My precious girl died in less than 5 hours after I brought her. She died because she was dehydrated and her diabetes was not stabilized. They had done nothing to help in either problem. NOTHING. They started an IV after all the damage was done. I called my vet when I had left her to go home and she asked what treatment they had started and I told her none. I told her they had still not started the IV after 3 hours there. My vet was shocked and was speechless. I took my sweet girl to this place for help and they did nothing. I hold them completely responsible for her death. IT is called an Emergency Vet clinic, they did nothing for her in her time of emergency need. I will never set food in that door again. I hope that they never hurt another animal this way again
