Dear Mr [redacted] We are in receipt of your most recent request for response to Ms [redacted] 's complaintPlease forgive our tardiness in responding, however I/we thought l/we had already responded but just realized it was an additional customer response to the original complaintWe have been in contact with Ms [redacted] and are attempting to resolve the issue with her directlyWe thank you for your assistance in this matter and hopefully can put this issue to restAgain, thank you.Sincerely, [redacted] General Manager

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2016/03/22) */ First and foremost Green Chevrolet has zero desire to ever put ourselves in a situation which would make a potential customer angryWhat we thought we were doing was simply mailing out a free chance to win some moneyWe did not realize people would read through the black line dividing the "winner" box from the "prize" boxIf a customer made that mistake we are 100% apologetic to themThis contest was meant to fun, free, and a chance to walk away with a prize for doing nothingIt has turned out if a customer reads through the black dividing line then they might believe they have won money only to find out that they might not haveWe understand under that vein a customer would be very disappointedWe felt that a free gift was better than what Deptstores do on Black Friday, luring customer to wait for hours for a cheap product, which there are only a few of and then running out while hundreds of people go withoutTo win at this contest you've have to do absolutely nothingWe do not hassle anyone or pressure him or her into a sales pitch of any kindWe are a car dealership, so not surprising, we would want to earn your business on an automobileIt would be surprising to most people if a business didn't ask for a customer's patronageIf you went to an insurance office for a free gift they would ask if you had enough insuranceWe are not "bait and switching" as you are not required to buy a single thingWe are not "scamming" any one, as again it is a free contest and you don't have to buy anything from usIf a person reads the flyer as it is written, and not as they want it to read it, then there is no issueWe have had one of the largest turnouts to date for a contest and have been thanked by hundreds of people for what we doWe are absolutely not trying to anger a single solitary personWe again apologize if you mistook our free game as misleadingPlease understand we do not wish to anger people Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2016/03/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This is nothing short of a classic bait-and-switch because a reasonable person would look next to the line with three silver cars (every game card had three silver cars in a row, according to several stories) and assume that they had won the corresponding prize of $5,I challenge you to find any person that would look at the flyer, even notice the black line in the first place, and deduce that they had NOT won $5,000, but one of the other prizesThe fact that your Facebook page has been flooded with negative reviews following this "promotion" is a testament that you were relying on the gullibility of the recipients just to get them in the door and try to sell a car to themI've heard that others have also filed Revdex.com complaints against you, so obviously I'm not the only one that "read through the black line" and was deceived It doesn't matter that a person doesn't have to do anything for this contestThe fact that you intentionally deceived hundreds of people just to drum up some business is unethical at best and disgusting at worstI'm not surprised that you've had "one of the largest turnouts" for this promotion; if hundreds of people thought they'd won $5,000, who in their right might wouldn't show up at your door? Tell me, how many of those people were actually interested in giving you business after finding out they'd been deceived? Almost none, I'd wager I can see that you don't find any problem with this promotion so it's useless to keep this dialog goingI hope you're enjoying the 1.3-star average rating on your Facebook page (out of reviews are star, which should tell you something)I have already told several people about this awful promotion and convinced them never to give you their business, and I will continue to do so

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/05/28) */ This complaint was not made by the owner of the carThe owner of the car has asked the dealership to not respond or interact with the complaint maker

That is a rediculous responseWhen we first received the winning card opening it to see the silver cars in line with it showing we won $But after talking with the representative from Green Chevy they asked if we were in the market to purchase a car...and we responded no, they immediately HUNG UPI FULLY READ THE ENTIRE FLYER PROMOTION INCLUDING SMALL PRINTwhen we took it into them, they confiscated the flyer saying we won a trip, which was the bate n switch factorIt is a trick promotion and clearly proves those not wanting to buy a car are unwanted by them hanging up on us Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 9, 2016/03/25) */ First, I want to sincerely apologize to this customerIn his desired resolution it is to avoid other people from negative issuesTo help avoid negative issues we have given away a vacation to every person who has come into the dealership that doesn't win the moneyWe are also giving a TV a day way to anyone who simply registers for the drawingLastly, we will not be doing any more of these sales I truly hope this customer can accept my personal apology for any confusionAs a company we do not wish to alienate anyone from doing business with us

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2016/03/24) */ First, let me apologize for the confusion of this flyerWhat I thought was a fun game to play turned out to be a confusing flyerI apologize to you if you feel misleadMy intention was to give away some prizes and increase our customer base It seems I have upset you insteadI would be glad to apologize in person or by phone if you would likeThe mail piece was not purposed to anger youI am sorry for wasting your time and energy to come down here

I read this flyer from front to back looking for the gimmick nothing there have no clue what this black line is I can't find on the card or flyerThey had more customers than usual because people thought they had wonAs far as I am concerned it was a scamSo I drove all the way to Peoria for a sales pitch and no prize what so everFraud or bait and switch is what it wasI am sure a lot of people fell for this scam Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 9, 2016/03/25) */ I want to personally apologize to this personOur desired outcome of this mail piece was the exact opposite of his feelingsWe are giving a vacation away to every single person who comes inWe are giving a TV a day away alsoWe had hoped two disclosures and the black line separating the the cars from the prizes would make it clear of winning one of the prizesI can promise this customer we acted in good faith trying to make a free contest easy to read and winI can only apologize profusely to this person and hope he can accept my apology that we , in no way, ever want to mislead or mistreat a customerThe prizes are insured and paid out through the Hole in One company
