[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Green Earth had two months to finish this job properly After emphasizing that time was of the essence on this job, because the existing walkway was hazardous, I had to call every 2-days to see when the job would be scheduled Eventually it had been pushed back to the end of August When I told them it needed to be completed by the end of July, they finally got to work. The next step in the construction was the concrete pour, scheduled for the following morning Yes, my tenant did tell me the job was being done improperly He should know; he's in the business--and he was on site where he could see the work I went to see for myself and, even I--who have no experience in concrete construction--could see this was not good I called Charles N [redacted] and explained the problem He said, "Oh, we can put in more rebar." I told him MORE rebar wasn't the solution; it was just not installed correctly Not tied to anything Not going down the steps I asked Charles to delay any more action ***il I could figure out what to do Since the entire process with Green Earth had been so unsatisfactory to date, I had no reason to believe it would get any better It was a mess Should I have allowed the concrete to be poured and THEN asked for it to be "worked out?" It was so hard to get anything done to start with, I can't imagine trying to get them to start over.I don't recall meeting anyone the day before I went to the job site many times, and usually found no one working One day when I went (perhaps that was the day before), the owner, Tom H***, was there He was instructing a worker how to do something The man clearly had no idea what he was doing At that time I explained what my expectations were and how I wanted this sidewalk to connect to the garage, etc It meant re-doing some of the framing I didn't have any questions that required answers I had instructions that needed to be reiterated. When I found someone else to do the job, he said it was the biggest mess he'd ever seen They had to "remove the existing formwork and gravel under step faces which were not properly installed If the gravel was left as it was when the concrete was poured, it would have rolled out from under the forms, leaving a void." This is from the invoice for work done by the next company, who had the job completed correctly within a week So I had to pay extra to have this company fix what Green Earth had already done before they could start the project anew I can provide a copy of this invoice with the company name, etcif you would like to see it.As far as breaching the contract, Charles N [redacted] told me before I signed a contract that they could have the job COMPLETED within weeks of a contract So that was my expectation They hadn't even started in weeks, and had pushed the job back to the end of August Is that not breaching the contract? Adding insult to injury, I paid a 50% deposit for this job, and then learned that the industry standard was more like 20% Very naive of me, but I thought pay them now, pay them later, it didn't matter because the job would be done Tom H [redacted] said they couldn't refund any of my deposit because they used it for supplies I came up with a total of under $for the supplies they used to install a drainage pipe--the only part of the job they did that remains.I have tried to attach five photos of Green Earth's work on this job If they didn't transmit, let me know and I can e-mail them When I submitted my response the first time, it appeared to have not gone through, so I am sending it again here.I checked the Revdex.com site to see if there were any other reviews of Green Earth Coincidentally, the complaint I found was similar to mine, and in the same timeframe--July Maybe the company was having some kind of issues they were dealing with, but that doesn't change anything about my experience.Regards, [redacted] ***

How would you have ensured that I was pleased with the results at the end?  Once the concrete was poured, that would have been the end of it.  Your work & expertise had to come before the concrete.Quoting from their invoice, the company that did install the sidewalk had to “remove the formwork and gravel under the step face [from the deck], which were not properly installed."  “If the gravel was left as it was when the concrete was poured, it would have rolled out from under the forms, leaving a void.”  In addition, they had to remove extra gravel from the existing formwork [installed by Green Earth] and haul it away.  All of that was an additional cost to me.Please tell me what necessary materials you purchased for the job.  The concrete was canceled.  The “framing” for the concrete and the rebar were clearly recycled from a previous job/s.  There wasn’t much labor involved, as every time I went by to see the progress, no one was there.   So, maybe, too much gravel?  I’d like to see some invoices for your expenses. In my last e-mail, I said, "I am asking you to hold up on the concrete pour [redacted]il I can determine this is being done properly,” not that you should "stop work [redacted]il we get things figured out,” as you said.  I determined the work was NOT being done properly by Green Earth, so the job had to stop as far as Green Earth was concerned.Green Earth did install a 30’ corrugated drainage pipe in a ditch dug next to the garage.  I’m happy to pay for that, nothing  more—although I had to pay the other company to fix what had already been done incorrectly by Green Earth.  Nobody is going to reimburse me for that.Once again, I am asking you to please refund the deposit I paid for Green Earth Landscaping to do this job.  Your company failed, and there is no reason I should have to pay twice.[redacted]

The customer never let us finish the job and breached the contract even though we had met with her the day before  and answered all her questions and issues she would not let us back on the property. If we were allowed to finish and she was not happy it could have been worked out but she did...

not. She actually said her tenant said we were doing the job wrong and that was the reason for firing us. The customer breached the contract. We stand behind our work but were never given the opportunity to finish.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  Green Earth had two months to
finish this job properly.  After emphasizing that time was of the
essence on this job, because the existing walkway was hazardous, I had
to call every 2-3 days to see when the job would be scheduled.
Eventually it had been pushed back to the end of August.  When I told
them it needed to be completed by the end of July, they finally got to
work. The next step in the construction was the concrete pour,
scheduled for the following morning.  Yes, my tenant did tell me the job
was being done improperly.  He should know; he's in the business--and
he was on site where he could see the work.  I went to see for myself
and, even I--who have no experience in concrete construction--could see
this was not good.  I called Charles N[redacted] and explained the problem.
He said, "Oh, we can put in more rebar."  I told him MORE rebar wasn't
the solution; it was just not installed correctly.  Not tied to
anything.  Not going down the steps.  I asked Charles to delay any more
action [redacted]il I could figure out what to do.  Since the entire process
with Green Earth had been so unsatisfactory to date, I had no reason to
believe it would get any better.  It was a mess.  Should I have allowed
the concrete to be poured and THEN asked for it to be "worked out?"  It
was so hard to get anything done to start with, I can't imagine trying
to get them to start over.I don't recall meeting anyone the day

working.  One day when I went (perhaps that was the day before), the
owner, Tom H[redacted], was there.  He was instructing a worker how to do
something.  The man clearly had no idea what he was doing.  At that time
I explained what my expectations were and how I wanted this sidewalk to
connect to the garage, etc.  It meant re-doing some of the framing.  I
didn't have any questions that required answers.  I had instructions
that needed to be reiterated. When I found someone else to do the

didn't matter because the job would be done.  Tom H[redacted] said they
couldn't refund any of my deposit because they used it for supplies.  I
came up with a total of under $30 for the supplies they used to install a
drainage pipe--the only part of the job they did that remains.I
have tried to attach five photos of Green Earth's work on this job.  If
they didn't transmit, let me know and I can e-mail them.  When I submitted my response the first time, it appeared to have not gone through, so I am sending it again here.I

Earth.  Coincidentally, the complaint I found was similar to mine, and

kind of issues they were dealing with, but that doesn't change anything
about my experience.Regards,

Review: BLUF: I have a small outstanding balance because their work was not sufficient.

Background:

I hired this company to take out two trees and lay sod.

They were seconds away from cutting down the wrong tree when my wife stopped them.

Then they changed their price even though the estimate was very specific and they agreed the estimate was correct. After we re-did the contract they no showed 2-3 times before they actually completed the work. After the trees came out, they laid sod, a large portion of which didn't take and they left gaps divots and hills in my yard. I spend months trying to resolve it with them and trying to get the sod to take, which it didn't. I had to pay a different contractor to redo the work they didn't. After months of going back and forth with them they just went silent.

Last month I got a threaten letter saying they were going to collection if I didn't pay them. I have called two times and email 4 and the owner/manager will not respond.Desired Settlement: Adequate services were not rendered. This amount needs to be adjusted.

My experience with Green Earth was a great one.
Tom, the owner came over and came up with design ideas for my new pond and patio in the backyard. My pond was 24'x20' with a 20' long waterfall.
I love it and spend a ton of time out back relaxing there.
Tom also met my budget by coming up with some ways to save money on a large patio that I could use all summer. I highly recommend Tom and Green Earth Landscaping.
