Trouble shoot electrical problem with washing machine not working: Existing GFCI which had been functioning properly prior was showing red error LED indicator .Problem found to be neutral and phase conductor shorted togetherThis can occur when a fastener is driven through the cable, shearing off the neutral from the panel and shorting the opposite side to the phase conductorIt was noted by on-site electrician that construction work was going on in the apartment next door directly opposite the washing machine GFCI circuitFrom this evidence it is our belief that the wire feeding the washing machine was damaged by the work going on in the apartment next doorIt should also be noted , that as per the apartment owners own admission ; the washing machine circuit worked fine until construction work started next door.-

We completed work and had township inspect and verify work was done properly and to code, we received a call from [redacted] several months after work was completed and he indicated that his washer and dryer was not workingI asked if this was a new issue since it was working all along with no issues before and he agreed that he has been using his washer and dryer all along, we sent our licensed electrician to make repairs when he noted that someone had shorted the wire by drilling a screw into the wire, we contacted [redacted] and advised him it was not due to any of our work and would be able to run a new wire and make repairs and gave him the cost for the work since it was not part of our work or performance and he did not want to make paymentWe value our customers and we went and sent our technician to access and make repairs but unfortunately it was not due to any of our negligence

I am rejecting this response because:
The wire was not damaged by a screw/or nail (this has been confirmed)Just because their employee has this theory does not make it accurateSince cause has not yet been determined, the faulty wiring is the business' responsibility per the signed contract.This response also fails to respond to the other complaint which is that the HVAC was not fully installed and still needs to be balancedThis was part of the original contract and work for which I paid in full and was never finished by their subcontractor
