Green Energy of Philadelphia Reviews (1)

Review: We purchased the Green Energy Barrier back in Spring of 2013.It was presented to us by their sales rep, [redacted] in our home. The product is a a radiant barrier that gets installed in the homes attic. It's supposed to reduce the radiant heat that is generated from the Sun beating down on a home's roof by reflecting the heat back out of the house instead of letting it into the house. His sample utilized a cut out example of a home's roof and attic. It was cut 1/2 to simulate 2 different sections. One side was lined with the raidiant barrier that they were selling and the other without. The sun was simulated by using heat lamps on both sides. There was a thermometer in both sides showing the temperature. The side that had no lining was showing a temperature of 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The side that had the radiant barrier installed was showing a temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The 40 degree difference in temperature between the two sides was one of the key selling points which lead us to commit to buy the product. At no time during the presentation were any exceptions to the products performance made known to us.The product was installed and we did not see the same results. It was still early spring, so the attic was not as hot yet as the typical summer months. We did get a few warm days and still was not seeing any significant temperature change in the attic with the radiant barrier installed. We raised our concerns to [redacted] and he came back out to inspect the installation. They came back and installed the barrier on all the areas of the attic where it was not installed initially to alleviate the problem. We still did not see any significant temperature change as was advertised to us.[redacted] came back again and asked us about the "ridge line" in our roof to ensure that was installed correctly. He also suggested that we open the attic windows in order to promote adequate air circulation for the heat to escape. None of this was mentioned during the presentation.Desired Settlement: The product does not work as advertised / presented. The attic is still showing hot day temperatures of 100 degrees and over with the barrier. We've been going back and forth with [redacted] for over a year now with no clear resolution. He suggested we get an attic fan installed which is fine but I feel that they should pay for it as it again was not presented to us a dependency for their product to work.Either that or we want a full refund and they can come remove the barrier.
