Green Forest Tree Service Reviews (%countItem)

This application is to complain about errors and an overcharge from Clayton Tree Service, in November 2017. I realize there has been some delay in complaining. But there was a delay in getting an appointment to get the trees trimmed and payment schedules. And unusual conditions in weather and disasters affecting this geographic area and tree cutting services. A written estimate for tree trimming was given 180ct2018 for a pine tree near the house, selective pruning of a redwood tree, an overgrown rear hedge for $775, with oral assurances it would costs no more as I was having a check written for it, to be paid after the work was done. There was no implication of more money to be paid. The schedule for the work was redone several times, suddenly to be done 3Nov2017. The pine tree was cut more than I authorized; I'd said it would be too much and too expensive. The rear hedge was cut to my requirements after I insisted several times. The redwood tree here was not done; it is not the redwood tree which was across the street at the time---it was cut down entirely later, which I had nothing to do with, it was a healthy tree and had been there more than 50 years. In addition, some pine limbs are near a power line; I specifically wanted the branches cut out of the way of the power lines; they were not. Mr. O, the alleged manager, did not return my calls until I phoned Mr. Clayton and had him call him. Mr. O did not like the fact that I'd called Mr. Clayton, saying that I should have worked through him, although he had not answered my calls. When he saw the extensive work on the pine tree, he expressed ignorance, and that I should have managed the workmen, which is Mr. O' job. Later he expressed how detailed work like they had done would be very expensive and that I would get a bargain if I paid more, I said I had not authorized the extensive work on the pine tree, had insisted on the hedge being done to my requirements, and the redwood tree had not been done. I said, under duress, I would pay him $300 more and no more, the hedge and clean up had to be done. He left. Eventually, I paid a workman the $775 check and my $300 check, he marked the estimate as bill paid in full. Without the extreme pine tree trim, the total was about 2/3 of the work, since the redwood tree was not done. 2/3 of $775 is about $517, so 1/3 of $775 is about $258. $258 added to $300 is $558. I would like a refund of the $300 I was pressured into paying, and a good part of $258 as a refund--$550. The original size of the job could be inferred by how much would have been done early in the morning until early afternoon, not all day. I was thinking chainsaws not boutique trimming.

Green Forest Tree Service Response • Sep 27, 2018

We regret to inform you that because a lot of time has passed since the job was performed, the only recollection we have of the case is what employees at the time relayed, expressing concern for the manner in which the client added work to their schedule and attempted to micromanage the process. Unfortunately, the employees are no longer with the company, and because Mr. O is no longer with the company, we are unable to corroborate any of the information nor satisfy the client's demands at this time.

I am rejecting this response because:

This application is to complain about errors and an overcharge from Clayton Tree Service, in November 2017. This letter is to consider their delayed response indicated to me 27 Sept 2018, no Revdex.com letter received yet. There was delay in getting an appointment to get the trees trimmed, and payment schedules. The work was not completed. No work was added, I specified not to do too much work as it would be too expensive. The hedge in back was to be cut to a lower height than the workmen were doing; I insisted they cut to the lower height. There was no micromanagement. In fact Mr. O complained that I should have directed the workmen, which is his job. He did not respond to my phone calls to him until after I phoned Mr. Clayton. I could not consult with Mr. O as manager, since he did not respond and did not arrive until their added effort had been done-not micromanagement from me. It would seem to be "Opposite speak” to claim added work from me when it is they who overdid on the pine and underdid on the hedge until I complained and corrected them. Maybe they are retaliating. The fact that the bill was noted as "paid in full," and that the checks were cashed indicated their intent. They remember just fine. As to the workmen not being with them anymore, how convenient for them. Mr. O was still listed on their website recently. To restate the complaint

From the photos, enclosed before, you can see before and after, and the power line near the pine limb. Thank you for your effort, hope to hear from you with good news soon. Tam reserving, retaining, exercising my legal rights, lefts, prerogatives, privileges, immunities.
