I have had a horrible experience with this company. They damaged my yard in August of 2017 and here it is June of 2018 and they have not made it right. They gave me three options:

1. Refund all of my treatments which will not cover the repair of the damaged lawn.

2. Overseed my lawn with centipede seed with no guarantee of germination.

3. Sod the hill next to my home with bermuda and seed the yard with bermuda seed even though I have centipede grass.

The price of purchasing sod for the damaged area would be $9,000.00 dollars. That doesn't include the labor to prep the yard and lay it.

The route manager informed me that ultimately the owner of the company is not responsible for any damages because the back of their invoices say so.

I'll be forced to file suit because this company will not offer a viable solution to fix my lawn.

Green King has provided weed killing/pre emerge lawn spray services - three times a year - for my residence since 2012. During this period Green King had to re spray once, either the spring of 2013 or 2014 because the initial spray did not kill a majority of lawn weeds. The company blanket sprayed my lawn this year on April 20. The blue dye used in the chemical indicated the lawn was appropriately covered, however; a majority of the weeds were not killed. I telephoned the company today, May 6, and requested the lawn be sprayed again and was advised by [redacted] that company policy had changed and only subscribers who had five treatments a year were eligible to be re sprayed. I was not informed of the change prior to the April 20 spraying nor does the Green King web site state such a policy. In fact, Green King's web site states "100% satisfaction" and "if you're not happy, we're not happy". Well, I'm not satisfied nor happy.Desired SettlementI want Green King to kill existing weeds in my lawn or refund the $163.71 I paid to have the weeds killed on April 20. I also want Green King to notify each existing subscriber to their lawn spray services of the policy change and state that policy on their official web site. Business Response When Mr originally signed up for services with us, we quoted for 7 applications a year. Mr wanted to only agree to have 3 applications a year. On initial quote that was given to Mr, it states we can do a callback after 2 applications. Mr only gets applications 3 times a year and they are between 4 and 5 months apart. We treated 11/04/2014 and then again 4/20/2015. Before when he received a callback, it was done in office error. We have set all our customers up on a 7 application program and offer free callbacks after 2 consecutive applications. Mr never gets consecutive applications because he chooses to only get 3 applications a year. Explained to Mr how callbacks work and we could set him up on a 7 application program to guarantee our callback policy but he insisted only having 3 applications a year instead of the suggested 7 applications. We are willing to come back out and treat for a $50.00 Service Call and treat any weeds. Out of 15 years in business, this is the first time we have ever had anybody complain with the service we offer or not standing behind our work. I also attached Mr's original quote which states we can offer a free callback after 2 applications if you are set up on a 7 application program. I have also attached Mr's original quote from 2012.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)In the first place, I never signed up for anything. In late February of 2012, I initiated a telephone call to Green King about killing the weeds in my yard. The man I talked to and I agreed on a price ($150.00)that was based on the yard size provided by a lawn service, employed by me, the previous year. My requested spray service was accomplished shortly thereafter. Except for the lawn spray specialists, I have never had face to face contact with any representative of Green King. Green King has never explained how call backs work and my only contact, with other than the spray specialist, has been when the ladies at the company call to schedule a date/time for the treatment and when I called to have the yard re-sprayed. The company's 7 applications and callback policy were never previously discussed with me and I never insisted on three treatments a year. I simply requested three treatments and Green King complied. Green King's response to my complaint implies that I "signed up" for their services. That simply is not true. I never saw nor was provided a copy of the quote document that was attached to their response to my complaint. If Green King has such a document, signed by me, produce it and I will apologize to them and to the Revdex.com and withdraw my complaint. Until then my complaint and desired resolution to same stands. Final Business Response In an effort to close this case and meet the customer in the middle, our owner has agreed to come out and do a ONE TIME respray on this property. Once the respray has been done, the customer must move to our 7 application program for us to warranty his yard. If he deviates from our 7 application program then the customer is responsible for his own warranty because he chose to deviate from our program. Mr agreed to our program with our salesman when the salesman came out and quoted the yard. Mr was also given a copy of original quote which we have the carbon copy of as well. On our quote, it states our policy and our 7 application program. Mr never signed anything because you are not under a contract. Once you sign up, you are on a 7 step program unless you choose otherwise. In this case, Mr chose to not get 7 applications but only get 3. Mr is to warranty his own because he chose to deviate from our 7 application program that was presented to him when the salesman came out to quote the lawn as well as a brochure explaining our services. At this time, we will schedule a call back to take care of any weeds still in the yard if this is satisfactory. As for communicating with our other customers, this is the first time this has been a problem in 15 years. Please communicate back through the Revdex.com so we can resolve this matter.
