Starting on November 15, 2018 we gave notice to break our lease. In the Lease Agreement it spelled out how this was to be done. It indicated a notice no less than 60 days before the date to vacate along with at the time providing the notice a break lease fee of 2850.00 due at the same time the notice was presented.

Repeately I talk to the front office staff to make sure this 2850 was credited to the correct item for lease cancellation. each time assuming this would be and would work with the accounting office to make sure.

After moving out on January 15th, I again asked to make sure we had satisfied all of our obligations and was assured we were. On January 17th a letter was sent showing that the 2850 for the break lease fee was not applied and was charged double the amount for the lease break fee. At this time I emailed the apartment complex and was assured my account was reflected and where due a credit of 217.00 refund.

On March 2, I received a collection notice indicating I owed on the account which was dated on February 25th 2019.

I contacted the apartment complex the same day and left messages. I received a return email from the manager that all would be taken care of but so far no confirmation this was removed from collections as this should have not been sent in the first place. It appears they have an accounting and tracking issue of which I now fall in the middle of.
