This is an applicant that had submitted an application for a rental property. They were charged a total of $40 to run both of their applications combined. After running their application, their credit reports showed a series of derogatory payments and collections which were outstanding. Due to their poor financial standing, we decided to decline their application in favor of stronger applicants. The applicant then demanded that we return the $40 application fee to them, which we refused to because it was non-refundable and we have to pay out of pocket to run their credit reports. We are challenging the validity and fairness of their complaints. I have run this business for over five years and have run over 200 applications and have not onced received a complaint. We do not feel their complaint is fair nor justified.

After being strung along for 2wks I finally realized that I was never going to be considered for a candidate for tenancy on 20th ave. Altho the woman who showed me the house did respond to my texts, she never initiated contact with me, never one phone call after the viewing. She kept giving me excuse after excuse then eventually told me she did not want to rent to me. I supplied her with all the information requested and she never did a background check, an employment verification, her own credit check, a reference check, nor did she verify my rental history with my current landlord. She did absolutely nothing with my application but she denied me with no real basis. I am single black female with 2 jobs and no kids at home. Oak park is well known for its high crime; drugs, prostitution, theft, homelessness and shootings. Anyone who has excellent credit or a lot of money will NOT choose to live here. Why was I denied when nothing was ever verified?? I have yet to get an answer.

Review: My wife and I applied for a rental property from Green Nova Properties on April 11, 2014. We paid an application fee of $80 and filed our application. We attempted to email him the information as the Assistant Manager [redacted] said this was the quickest way to reply. We were unable email him because his website would not allow us to. We had to go to Kinko's and pay an additional $29 to send our application. After a few days we called him to inquiry about the status of our application, but [redacted] said call back because they were still awaiting the property owners input. Another 2 days went by without a call from him and we were wondering what the problem was. We had to call [redacted] again only to find out that we had not been approved. The reason for this complaint is Green Nova Properties never kept us informed of the process until we called them. Also they do not have physical address, their website does not work and we feel that we spend $109.00 for substandard service. Maybe we should have researched the company more but we feel shortchanged.Desired Settlement: Refund our application fee of $80 and the additional $29.00 when Green Nova Properties email was inoperable.
