The entire complaint against our company is so very misinformed, that I'm not sure where to startYes, the estimate says stone, and to us slag is stoneI have included a picture of steel slag, so you can see whyIt looks like stone, feels like stone, and is used commonly where stone is usedWe used this PennDQT approved steel slag as agreed upon for the driveway of [redacted] and [redacted] , to be paved over next year with asphaltThis driveway was very well done, it looks great, and we feel that we went above and beyond what we were supposed to doBut [redacted] did not attend the initial meeting before we scheduled the jobThis meeting is key, as it was when the use of slag was discussed with her husband, [redacted] , and when he and our project manager discussed and agreed upon every aspect of the jobThe following changes were made to the original estimate:• We would install downspouts from the garage [redacted] would purchase the material directly, and we would install them because our machine was already on site.• We would add stone on the north side of the garage, so he could park a vehicle there, and we would put enough stone on the south side of the garage that he could walk to the door.• We would use slag, which was the original intention, but this was discussed because the wording of the estimate was misleadingWe did not revise the estimate to reflect these changesOur project manager did not deem it necessary, and we do still believe in handshake agreementsThe changes were beneficial to the homeowner, so we didn't expect any problemsAt this meeting, we acknowledged that the wording of our estimate was misleading [redacted] didn't seem to care at allWe were very open and upfront about itDalton explained that we could use any material he wanted, it literally makes no difference to us, but the price would have to change with different materials because the total price was figured using the price of 2A slag [redacted] did not want to pay a higher price for any other material, and accepted the estimate using slag and with the above changes [redacted] and Greenawalt Excavating Inc were full agreement with everything, and we proceeded to schedule and perform the job.Weeks after completion and payment, [redacted] decided that she was unhappy with every aspect of us doing this job [redacted] told us that her husband had no knowledge of us using slagWhich we know is untrue, but [redacted] won't believe that the miscommunication is not between us and them, but between her and her husband [redacted] explained in her Facebook review that [redacted] has slag material where he works, so [redacted] is perfectly familiar with itHe knows exactly what it is, and what it looks likeWe started installing the driveway on a Wednesday, then the partially finished slag driveway sat for a three-day holiday weekend, then we completed it the following weekWe do not believe in the span of a week, that the couple did not so much as look at the drivewayWe don't believe that they ever thought it was going to be a different materialIn fact, they were happy with it when it was completed, they mailed a check upon receiving the invoice, and there were no issues until weeks after[redacted] has questioned the thickness of each layer, and there is approximately 6" of base, and 4" of top, and "fines" as neededThat is what we said there would be in the estimate and the meeting, and that is what was installed I have every stone slip from the plantWe also have an area that is much thicker, due to the grade of the new garageWe wanted to make sure it was a very gradual slope up to the garage, so [redacted] could push in a car that wasn't running, as working on old cars is an expressed hobby of hisWe went out of our way to make it thicker than planned in the parking lot area to achieve this[redacted] stated that you cannot pave over slagThat is incorrectSlag is the most commonly used material as a base for asphaltShe is probably confused because there are so many types of slagWe used PennDOT approved 2A slag and fines, which is the same material that is used by paving companies on state roadsIt's also the most common material for driveways, private drives, and parking lots due to its packing abilityWe used slag for the parking lot at our own businessThe customer's driveway is well done and well compactedIn fact, spending the extra money to use limestone as a base, just to cover it with asphalt is a waste of moneyCustomers that want a limestone driveway generally intend to leave it as limestone, not pave over itBut again, if that is what they wanted before the job was started, we would have advised them otherwise, but ultimately, we would have done exactly what they wanted to pay for. There is a very minor dent in the garage, and a couple tiny spots that are missing some paint, I am positive that it's not from our heavy equipment as the damage would be much greaterWe also didn't use heavy equipment close to the garageWe raked that out by handBut, we don't intend to argue, and we don't care if they bumped it while putting the boat into the spaceWe will submit it to our insurance company, and they will carry out their own investigation to assign faultI've expressed several times that we cannot move forward submitting this to our insurance company until we get the information for the garage including the steel panel sizes and colorsThe last time [redacted] updated me, they were waiting on a quote from the company***: Please provide us with the information needed, and we will submit it to our insurance as we discussedWe did not try to "cover it up" as you accused, as there was nothing to cover up, and we wouldn't do that anywayYou have worked very hard to demonize us, but we aren't bad peopleWe aren't con artists, and we aren't liarsIf we made a mistake, which we obviously have made mistakes during our years in business, we would have come to you and expressed that we were sorry and would have moved forward with an insurance claim immediatelyBut the dent showed up weeks after we were already goneAnd months later, I'm still waiting on informationWe have discussed this with the insurance company, and they told us what they needed to start the claimI relayed that to you, I cannot do anything else until you handle thatPlease also keep in mind that all the excavation and stone on the side of the garage we are talking about, was done for freeWe did not charge them anything to add this[redacted] stated that she has texted and called several times to try to resolve thisShe did text twice, and Amanda did not respondShe was advised not to, as the texts were rude and threatening[redacted] did not call several times, in fact she hasn't called since 9/29/which was the day a meeting was scheduled between ***, [redacted] , Dalton, and Amanda for 10/3/[redacted] stated that we are blaming her for us providing a low estimate, but there was never anything wrong with the estimate other than the wording being misleadingWe took appropriate action to correct that with [redacted] [redacted] states that the driveway is so full of ruts from our equipment, and that you cannot drive up it without four-wheel driveShe even says in her statement "Hold your teeth, it's that bad." This statement is very over-dramatic, as we have driven up the driveway with medium sized dump trucks, small trucks, a rear wheel drive Nissan, a jeep, and I will drive up it with a small front wheel drive car and video-tape it [redacted] believes the ripples are from heavy equipment, and keeps accusing us of not rolling the driveway after the stone was installedWe did roll it, and the ripples are from the vehicles gripping to get up the steep incline as we have explained a dozen timesThere is a reason the ripples weren't there when the job was completed, but they are there now.We have tried to resolve this matter, and we recently reassessed this jobThe truth is, that they will not be happy no matter what we do [redacted] sent us a very long and unreasonable list of demands via text message, and no, we will not agree to themShe wants us to make changes to "every inch of the driveway." [redacted] is free to sue us, just as she's been threateningWe are prepared to counter-sue if this happensWe returned to the site after seeing the list of demands, and we took pictures and measurementsThere is absolutely nothing wrong with this drivewayYet, they act like it's horrible and have been slandering us at every turn [redacted] expressed that she would tell everyone, friends, family, business contacts, that our company is terribleShe posted a misinformed review on our Facebook page, and has now submitted a complaint through the Revdex.comThis conversation will be online for everyone to view and judge for the life of the company. Our desired settlement is to get the information for the garage, including panel size(s) and colorThen we will submit it to our insurance company as we have discussedWe will not do anything about the thickness, as it is already exactly what we said we would do (At the meeting, and in the estimate). We want [redacted] to stop slandering us, and stop posting about us all over the internetWe will return to do one small area, not even mentioned in this complaint, where extra dirt from us installing downspouts for free has washed over some stone in the driveway***, I am sorry for the distress you have felt, and I wish you would take a step back and realize there is nothing wrong with the drivewayDon't think that because you see larger stone amongst the fines, that something is wrongThe fines are meant to pack between the stone, we only returned to install additional fines because you wanted us toThis driveway is everything that it needs to be, and makes a wonderful base for your future asphalt driveway

She posted a misinformed review on our Facebook page, and has now submitted a complaint through the Revdex.com. This conversation will be online for everyone to view and judge for the life of the company. Our desired settlement is to get the information for the garage, including panel size(s) and color. Then we will submit it to our insurance company as we have discussed. We will not do anything about the thickness, as it is already exactly what we said we would do (At the meeting, and in the estimate). We want [redacted] to stop slandering us, and stop posting about us all over the internet. We will return to do one small area, not even mentioned in this complaint, where extra dirt from us installing downspouts for free has washed over some stone in the driveway. [redacted], I am sorry for the distress you have felt, and I wish you would take a step back and realize there is nothing wrong with the driveway. Don't think that because you see larger stone amongst the fines, that something is wrong. The fines are meant to pack between the stone, we only returned to install additional fines because you wanted us to. This driveway is everything that it needs to be, and makes a wonderful base for your future asphalt driveway.
